Great location with a play park across the way for burning off steam. The family room was great although no windows in the bedroom was a bit odd. We had 418 and if that would bother you then choose a different one. If noise bothers you definitely go for a higher floor as the trams do rumble past quite loudly. The furniture in the rooms is a bit dated and could use a refresh but all was serviceable. The rooms were very clean but the shower door leaked dreadfully as it had no seal on the bottom.
The staff were all professional, helpful and lovely. They even sent up a piece of cake for my daughter’s birthday as a gift.
The spa was a highlight with a lovely pool (kids allowed until 4pm). I had a facial and head massage that were both well done. It books up quickly and you need a credit card to put down a 50% deposit even if staying at the hotel.
The restaurant was ok but I’d pass on dinner. There was very little in the way of veg. The kids menu sausages and fries were three sad little mini hot dogs and a few fries. Breakfast buffet was plentiful but completely uncovered so one sneeze and everyone goes home with a bug. Shielding the bowls of yogurt etc in some way really should be done.
Check out the Museum of Steel and the Pragl glass blowing workshop for some fun things to do.

This grand hotel is only 6 minutes walk away from the main train station, a huge plus. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived, so we decided to go to the dining room and for a little over $20 per person enjoy the Sunday breakfast brunch which was served until 12 noon on Sunday. Wide variety of delicious choices of everything one would possibly want for breakfast, including bloody Mary bar and Prosecco, was meticulously refilled by staff, live harp music adding to the most enjoyable ambiance. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms on the second floor by staff. My daughter’s room with an additional child bed was very small and crowded, not much room to store her luggage and walk around comfortably. Our room for 2 was fine, huge tall ceilings were everywhere, the view onto a busy intersection. One large towel per person was provided in the bathrooms, then only one hand towel and one small towel for the bidet. Could have used more. Large containers of liquid soap and hair products were affixed near the shower control, but if you decide to take a bath in the great large bathtub, they are impossible to reach. Small fridge held an assortment of pay for beverages, small area on top a accommodated our bottle of champagne. Wine and water glasses were available, as well as a coffee machine and cups, that we did not use. White dressing gowns were provided, unfortunately too short and about size 6, not comfortable for my husband or me. Spa area is lovely and our granddaughter enjoyed the pool, even though it was quite cold. Breakfast the following morning was again in the highest standard, minus the harp. We were able to order freshly made to order eggs. I can recommend the poached eggs on salmon, served on a muffin. They come without any sauce, too dry. But the taste can be greatly improved by adding a small dollop of mustard mayonnaise found by the cold cuts. Be aware there are 9 very steep steps before you get to the hotel’s front door, then additional 12+ equally steep to get to the lobby, making it very hard for any disabled person.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The hotel is located in a former, historic bank building. Therefore, the general premises, especially Lobby very lavishly appointed but with a modern touch. A point deduction is given by me because the premium room was not entirely new and has already come of age. But it was very quiet and we could sleep undisturbed. The staff is very friendly and well trained. A highlight is certainly the 20-meter indoor pool including sauna and steam bath. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, dishes with eggs could also be ordered, although these were not on the menu! The hotel's restaurant 1890 gat a small but fine menu. From the hotel you can reach Charles Bridge in about 20 minutes. Parking is available in the hotel's underground car park for a fee.

I booked the Carlo IV for a 4 night city break for my Fiancee who has just turned 30. We were welcomed at the front door and helped in with our bags on arrival. Check in was fast. The room was clean and well fitted albeit not huge, however we did choose the lowest price room so this was to be expected. Iron, Ironing board, kettle, coffee machine, free water, mugs, hair dryer etc were all provided. The wardrobe had plenty of hangers and was large enough to hold our clothes. Weirdly the handles on the wardrobe were installed very unevenly, a very minor detail but we found it quirky! The toilet and bathroom were separate which wasn't an issue, but unusual for us. The hotel was very warm, especially as it was -10 outside a lot of the time. We actually turned our room heat to the minimum most of the time.
As it was January the Spa was never too busy and a really nice perk of the hotel. I purposely chose the hotel for its nice Spa compared to competitors and it didn't disappoint. The one thing I can fault were the 'waterfall' features in the pool were never on / working, all other aspects were in good working order. Robes and slippers were provided, as well as additional sauna blankets and spa towels whenever we headed down there. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with attentive staff offering to tidy plates / extra coffee at all times.
On our 3rd night our TV would not turn off. As the plugs were inaccessible and the remote wouldn't work no one could turn it off! Staff moved us to another room (a small upgrade), this bathroom did have toilet and shower in one room. The bathroom also seemed to have newer fittings. It was a small inconvenience, but well handled.
I'd definitely recommend the hotel to other people. It's a short walk from old town with a high level of service and nice traditional fittings. There are other swanky hotels in the surrounding area.

A very enjoyable stay, we booked direct and after reading the reviews, made a number of specific room requests for our Premium room. The room was very comfortable and quiet, no view ( outside walls and other rooms) and on the small side. The highlight of this hotel, for us, was the breakfast, absolutely superb! The staff are very attentive, friendly, efficient and helpful; a special mention for the lady from reception who gave us our room, late afternoon on the 1st October and then brought our cases to the room, 408, and some fresh milk, she was outstanding and so friendly. The leisure centre is lovely, a good size pool for swimming, it was always fairly quiet, the only improvement would be a separate large hot tub / jacuzzi, the cold bubble areas in the pool are not very relaxing. The hotel is near the main rail station, we got the airport express bus from, and back to, the airport, it stops at this rail station (30 min journey), you just walk across the park to the hotel (you need to go down in the street lift, to the level below the road), the bus stops at terminal 1, a ticket is 100 CZK, pay on the bus or by card in the airport. The hotel is on the edge of the town, a good brisk walk to the Charles Bridge, it took us about 20 mins to the old square, before the bridge. Our favourite activity was the 1 hour boat trip, the boat leaves from the Charles bridge, we started from the far side of the bridge (across the bridge and left) and had a lovely trip across the river on a small feeder boat. We also enjoyed the funicular up to the Petrin look out tower and walking along that side of the river. We did not realise that you can get a ticket at the castle to enter the cathedral and 4 other areas (250czk), we watched the changing of the guard at noon and had a lovely relaxing lunch on the terrace of a restaurant on the left, at the top of the hill, just up from the castle (orange parasols). We went to a classical music concert at the Municipal building, it was very expensive, our friend went to a much better one at St Francis church, near the bridge, this was half the price, with a greater selection of instrumentalists and a lovely singer. A great holiday, a lot of walking!

The hotel is is beautiful, spotlessly clean and very grand, but the thing that makes it stand out is the staff. The breakfast hostess was polite and friendly every day despite being incredibly busy. The tall doorman stood outside in the cold with us while we waited for our taxi to the airport which was late. He also offered to get us transport to the airport in case ours didn't turn up. This was such great service as I was stressing about missing out plane. I asked the barman for ice as I had twisted my knee whilst out sightseeing. He provided me a large vacpacked bag of ice which was very much appreciated and incredibly kind. The rooms are not overly large but are very grand and as we were only staying for a long weekend the space was not an issue. The hotel is in a great location with a short walk to Wenceslas Square and the station. The breakfast at the hotel was by far the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. The selection and quality was amazing. We had to pace ourselves and were glad we were staying for a long weekend so that we could try everything. I loved the fresh pretzels. We would happily return

This is a lovely hotel, staff are great and breakfast is good too but I feel the rooms could do with a little revamp. I guess for most people they would be great but we just felt they needed a little sprucing up. We were upgraded to a room with a staircase that lead up to the bed, which sounds lovely but it was so hot up there we had trouble sleeping, so we moved room the next day. It was our anniversary and they very kindly sent some chocolate covered strawberry’s and some bubbles for us to celebrate with which was so nice. Hotel is just on the edge of the town, a 10 minute walk in. Pool area is new and nice but the weird thing is they give you like a white sheet for the sauna, you have to take your swim wear off and wrap this around you instead. For me that seemed a bit unusual and also meant you couldn’t go for a swim again after, even after showering as nothing worse than putting wet swim wear back on.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at NH Collection Prague Carlo IV. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted that you were happy with our staff and breakfast service. We are sorry you were not satisfied with our spa policy regarding the sauna. We would like to clarify that in the Czech Republic, it is mandatory to remove swimming suits and wear a white sheet or towel in all saunas. This is a common practice in our country and is done to maintain proper hygiene standards. We understand that this may be different from what you are accustomed to, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in following this policy. Thank you once again for choosing our hotel and for sharing your feedback with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon! Best regards, Maria Shemet Guest Relations

Very late booking for the same night due to a cancelled flight. Despite having to check guests in at around 1am the staff were so kind and efficient providing a toothbrush/paste as the airport refused to return our luggage. It had been a long difficult day and we had a lovely room to fall into bed in. It was a beautiful breakfast and we felt very ery well looked after. Thank you

We stayed in the hotel between 15/04 and 18/04. We were informed about the wellness centre being closed through our provider Jet2, but I don't think it would have mattered to us anyway as we were never going to experience that. The hotel is centrally located with lovely staff who were very welcoming. The gentlemen on the door, and the staff who attended us during breakfast were fab! Breakfast has an amazing range of food available, with staff getting coffee and or tea at your request - I particularly loved the make your own tea section! The rooms were very pleasant, clean but quite warm - we had to have the air conditioner on most the day and night, and slightly disappointed that we had two single beds when we paid for a premium double room (unsure if double beds were available at all!) Overall a lovely place to stay and would highly recommend

It is a traditional hotel. We were invited and had a room facing the street.
The room was fine - certainly you could furnish it more harmoniously, but it was very large and we liked it.
The hotel scores particularly with its beautiful location close to the train station (without hearing it) and close to the old town. There are some very good restaurants in the area.
The service at the hotel was excellent - super friendly!
The breakfast buffet was excellent and very nicely arranged - a real highlight! In the morning someone played music for breakfast from time to time; we really liked that.
Overall for us a very harmonious experience and a real Recommendation!
