Arriving to find the square barricaded and noisy because of major construction work was not a promising start. Negotiating through and around construction was offputting, and then there was the constant noise to contend with. While the room, bed and bathroom were all adequate, the disinterest of the front staff and the appalling breakfast (cordial, not fruit juice; no fresh...

Stayed from 29th April till 2nd May at The City Centre Hotel in Prague. Staff were not helpful, rooms are small, no quilt cover on the bed. Breakfast was awful, only good point was the location. Lift kept breaking down and we had a power cut, no apologies from staff. This is our third trip to Prague in the last...

Stayed here in August/September 2004 w/ group of 25 of us. They weren't very friendly at the front desk, but it all worked out in the end. My room was very large and the bathroom was large too. Others said their rooms weren't as large. Nice and clean though. Good walking distance from it all. I would stay there again....

Stayed here August 2004. This place turned out to be real gem. The location is great, next door there is a small underground bar with a strange gambling machine, its only a 2/3 minute walk from the old town and close to public transport should you deide not to walk (ADVICE-walk everywhere, Prague is beautiful). The hotel staff were always...

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights September 2004. There's nothing great I can say about this hotel exept that the location is perfect. The airport shuttle service main pick-up and drop off point is located on the square next to this hotel and there's a metro stop near the hotel, so that makes it quite convenient. Breakfast is not...

Stayed 04/03/04 and found this hotel very central. Rooms clean, warm and comfortable, with a good self service continental breakfast. Could have displayed more information leaflets in foyer eg. places on interest, maps, etc. but had a lovely city break and the only downside was the weather but it was March. Beautiful city and will visit again hopefully.

I recently stayed at the City Centre Hotel in Prague. I was traveling solo, so had a single room. It was typical for Europe-fairly small room, but quiet and spotless. The food was above average for Prague breakfast's. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rates are reasonable, and the location is hard to beat for this price. I...

My family and I (10 of us) stayed at the Hotel Centre City. It's extremely well located and clean. There was no real lobby to speak of. The rooms varied in size from large to rather small. The decor was all right, the bathrooms had all been redone and were lovely. The hotel covers 2 buildings. The elevators didn't necessarily...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
