This is a really friendly, traditionally Czech hotel with comfortable and well appointed rooms. The location is superb, being a few minutes from the main Old Town square and our second floor standard double room was quiet, with a pretty painted ceiling and beautiful period detailing.

Nice clean hotel close to the main square in old town. Reception staff are friendly and nice Rooms nice and clean, the shower in Room 43 run hot and cold at times. Quilts on large double beds are unusual to say the least, you get two quilts and they are not very big, could do with some puffier cushions as... More

Hotel in a great location. We chose a suite and was not disappointed by it. The bathroom was huge and included a large shower cubicle and corner whirlpool bath. We also had a separate lounge and bedroom. I was worried about experiencing noise after reading other reviews but even though we faced the inner courtyard we were not bothered at... More

We had stayed here in 2005 and I had remembered it fondly for the size of the rooms as well as the perfect location. It was as good, if not better, 11 years later. The first thing is the location. You are within a block and a half of the Old Town Square. About a 8 to 10 minute walk... More

I recently stayed at this hotel in November 2016, in a Single Room, for 7 nights. The pros: The location is superb. The hotel is situated right behind the main historic square, so you are always a short walk away from food, attractions, and public transportation. There is a Billa grocery store right by the Powder Gate that is open... More

Perfect distance to Oldtown square (approx 2 blocks) with all its stores/restaurants/tourist attractions. The room was somewhat quaint but very clean and the staff was helpful with all our requests. Decent selection on the breakfast a mixture of both warm and cold food. As a bonus they have spa in the basement where you can bathe in beer which was... More

Hotel Metamorphis is a delight. More studio apartment than hotel. Spacious, clean, quiet and great location. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed 5 nights. The hotel staff speak great English and are a great help with taxis, finding places to go, and making us feel welcome. Walking distance to most sights. I would definitely go back for hopefully a... Charming hotel with old fashioned, spacious rooms, tall ceilings and updated bathrooms. Close to everything. Right behind the Tyn church which is off the central town square. Delicious breakfast in the lower level of the Vabene restaurant. The hotel has two parts separated by an alley, we stayed in the section by the Vabene restaurant which has an elevator to... More

The good: 1. The location was outstanding, just a short walk from old town square. 2. Breakfast was great, plenty of hot options like eggs, omelettes, sausage, and bacon. Also a good selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses, and good coffee. 3. The double windows (not double pane/glazed, but 2 complete sets of windows, one exterior, one interior) keep the... More

Our room had an old European charm with wood floors and a large room overlooking the square. The breakfast included was in a 12th century cellar nicely decorated. The hotel room was off a square and not far from the town square.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
