Arriving to Balbin was a bit of a shock since there was no way whatsoever of recognising the place from the street. No one answered as we tried to call the intercom, but having called to the hotel's phone number everything worked out just fine, and we got to the actual hotel which was in the fourth floor. The room...

There is a lot of noise due to a flat being reconstructed just next to the pension, yet no one pointed that out on the website. When we arrived we tried to ring the reception, but to no answer. When they finally let us in, we found out that the front door lock was broken or something, and sometimes the door...

Super friendly staff. We stayed there once before last year and came back again with friends. They all thought the owners were our family with how welcoming they were. Delicious breakfast and comfy beds. Would absolutely recommend.

It was a somewhat last minute find on the internet that I found the Balbin Hotel but I saw all the great reviews on TripAdvisor & with a price that suited my budget for my week long stay I decided to take a gamble & go for it. I'm happy to say the gamble paid off for me. For a...

I just spent 5 delightful days at the Balbin. I booked on line and everything went smoothly. The price was right and i loved the location. It was just outside the tourist area - crawling with people. The neighborhood is a normal one, excellent public transport ( tram and Metro steps away) Wencelaus Sq isa short walk and the train...

We have been there in May 2016. The best of this hotel is that the people working there are simply fantastic. They helped us in any possible way, with the trolley of our daughter, to get a taxi in time, to bring our luggages and so on. The hotel is very close to tram and metro station, but you can...

Staying in Vinohrady & Vrsovice

Neighbourhood Profile
Vinohrady & Vrsovice
Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighbourhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.
