As a backpacker, the rooms and suites were a little high for us, so we opted for the flat at only 1800 kc for 3 people. It was wonderful! Great location, right on Karmelitska, the main thoroughfare in Lesser Town. We had all we needed - a refrigerator stocked with breakfast items, a kitchen with pots and pans (we cooked...

This cosy pension has a very charming exterior and is in embassy district not far from kampa island and Charles Bridge. It is simply a nice quiet area with a nearby park and a little river (the devil river), it's pretty close to public transportation, walking distance till the fabulous castle (Hradcany) , where you could spend at least half...

Picked up at the airport by the hotel and transported to a traditional Prague house. We loved the atmosphere and the area was a delight. Friendly staff and fab that you could have breakfst until 12 noon. Breakfast basic but light and traditional. Ground floor room had a lovely view over the park. Snow floated down over our four day...

I have just come back for spending 6 nights and the Pension and can't praise the owners and staff enough. The place is seriously worth while considering and also caters for people with disabilities. The location being in Mala Strana side of town is a quiter more residential area a gets you away from the some time very intense hussle...

We stayed in the Dientzenhofer as it was recommended by friends and in spite of some reviews in Trip Advisor which were disparaging. We arrived at Prague Airport very late after delays in London but Karl the taxi driver used by the pension, was still waiting for us despite the hour. Good driver and a lovely man by the way....

We spent a weekend at the Dientzenhofer for my father's 60th birthday. I can't praise it enough. We took the 'family room', which actually turned out to be a spacious, clean suite with two bedrooms. The hotel staff arranged hotel transfers, tram tickets, and even gave us a bottle of champagne (on the house) for the 'birthday breakfast'. The fact...

Although this place is clean and well-located, I did not enjoy my stay. My biggest complaint was that they do not have mattresses, just hard, thick futon style pads. The staff was polite but young and unable to help with music or dinner reservations. The overall feel was smoky and dark.

We stayed here in March 2003. The location was great,, the price was reasonable for Prague and the staff were very helpful. My only criticism is the smokiness of the place (it tended to waft up from the bar into the rooms). I would stay there again though.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They arranged airport pick up, offered to get opera tickets, etc. The rooms were large and clean. Decor was straight forward. Breakfast was pretty standard. The location was quiet and very central. Great value for the money.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
