We have just returned from a 4 night break at the characterful Hotel U Tri Pstrosu. The receptionist was welcoming and proved to be most helpful in many ways throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable, situated overlooking the bridge. An excellent breakfast was offered between 7 and 9am and if required a reasonably priced a' la carte evening meal...

This has the best location in the whole city, full of charm, excellent staff, great breakfast and all in a 1600's charming builiding. You cannot top this place. There is no elevator and 3rd floor is 4 flights up so you need to be up for that. Our room overlooked the bridge yet was quiet. Might be warm in the...

Great location. Old charming building. We had a fairly spacious suite with a great view of the Charles bridge and the river. Excellent wifi. The large bed was not very comfortable. The bathroom not practical with a handheld shower in a jacuzzi and not well equipped. One of the receptionists was very welcoming and helpful, two others had apparently kept...

The hotel and its desk staff are charming, and its location is perfect-right at the end of the Charles Bridge, the center of old Prague and in the center of the best part of Prague for tourists. The price of the hotel is reasonable, and the included breakfast buffet has delicious bacon. We got a room with a view-of the...

Just returned after 4 nights at this lovely hotel. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The location is excellent and our room was very charming, and looked out over The Charles Bridge. Breakfast provided a selection of cold and hot, and plenty of it. Free coffee on the first floor which was lovely as there are no coffee making...

My husband and I have just returned from a 3 day, 2 night stay in the breathtaking city of Prague. We stayed at the Hotel U 3 Pstrosu which I had chosen for its absolute perfect location, right at the end of Charles Bridge. We arrived around 10 am and thought we would have to wonder around for a few...

Excellent location for those who plan to examine Prague. Windows were facing an old nice square, quite crowded at the daytime and not noisy at night. Breakfast was simple and unchanging, but unless you are not after gastronomic joy every morning, it is absolutely fair. Overall, incredible value for money.

We had room 24 with exposed beams and looking down on the end of the Charles bridge. The location is excellent, in good walking distance of all the main sights. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was fine in the usual continental way. No lift but it is an old building with plenty of character. Would stay again.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

“As there is no elevator, if you cannot use narrow, pie-shaped stairs, ask for the first floor.”
DocIrene, 22 Dec 2016 | Read review
“If you don't want to be bothered by noise, ask for a room that does not over look the bridge. This hotel does not have A/C - so not sure I'd want to stay there in the summer. If you are American, remember that the 1st floor is one floor up - so the second floor is two flights of stairs. ”
