First of all, the biggest plus of this hotel - the location! It's next to the main square and is easy to visit the old town. When we saw the room, we were really impressed, it's HUGE! However, it needs some maintenance work to be done and urgently. Air conditioning was not working properly, so first two hours we were...

The hotel is set inside a nice little courtyard. The check in and reception is shared with another hotel there. The staff are excellent and very attentive and will do anything they can to help. Only downside was the aircon in our room was unfortunately broken and the weather was extremely hot during our stay. Absolutely HUGE bed (well over...

We stayed in Merchan’s Yard two nights in July 2016. This is not a hotel as we normally define it: There is no reception, no public areas, no surveillance etc. Merchant’s yard is an establishment with 6 rooms on three floors with direct access from the street. Should you as a guest experience a problem you will only be able...

First - the positives. It's very, very central - just behind the huge Tyn Church which dominates over the Old Town Square. There are only six rooms, and it's an old building, meaning huge space and high ceilings. The rooms are tastefully decorated, large twin beds that you can push together if needs be. The bathroom was frankly amazing, huge...

Good hotel. Access to all you can drink nespresso!! Only issue was the aircon doesnt work and the rooms get stuffy. Right in the heart of old town close to everything. Be careful with street vendors and money change places that will try to rip you off. Always confirm prolices before you buy anything especially taxis.

I chose this hotel for my husband's birthday trip because of its location in the heart of the old town and we weren't disappointed. The main reception is in the adjacent Metamorphosis Hotel and the welcoming staff showed us to our spacious, beautiful and well-equipped room on the first floor of the residence with windows overlooking the square. This is...

Went over to Prague for long weekend and wanted something close to the Old Town Square. Found the Merchants Yard Residence at a very good price and was largely as advertised. It only has s few rooms so you check in a few yards away and have breakfast in the basement of the Vabene Italian restaurant next door. Plenty of...

We stayed here on a last minute change of plans and I was very pleased with the find. The residence doesn't have a reception, as it is located in a court yard where several hotels share the one facility which, funnily enough, is also the entrance to the beer spa, should you want to indulge in such relaxing fete. The...

The hotel is in a walking distance from the old square. The room were big and clean and had PC/Mac in the room and printer on hallway. The free breakfast was adequate. The receptionist helped us book number of activities in Prague. Excellent hotel I would totally book a room if I came to Prague again

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

“do not book superior room in first floor , no a/c , do not ask owner to arrange transport - they take commission , dishonest to tourists . this is not hotel , they are apartments and reception is for other hotel , owner does not stay there and you dont get any help , reception just say that they are not for this hotel and cannot do anything , in fact receptionist Stephen told me to write a complaint against the owner as this keeps happening repeatedly”
