I spent 3 nights at Little Quarter and I found the people friendly and helpful. The room (5 bed shared room) was clean and the bathroom was cleaned daily. I found the location absolutely perfect: close to the castle and the bridge & old town. Little Quarter Hostel was great value for money!

Prague is very high on everyone's bucket list, and the hordes of people visiting in late Oct were a testimony to that fact. We initially planned to stay in the Old Quarter but then decided to stay in Mala Strana across the river, and definitely did not regret the decision. The hotel/hostel had clean rooms, several cafes and restaurants nearby...

If you are looking for a very good place to stay in Prague, I would recommend Little Quarter Hostel. A double room was initially booked but we were given the 4 bed room at no extra cost. The room was huge, light filled and very comfortable. Reception service was very good. The only negative was that the wireless didn't extend...

We stayed in a 4 bed private room. The room is very spacious and clean, with a fridge and a kettle. The look from the windows is great: you can see the president palace up on the hill and the Cathedral of St Vitus. The location is also very nice and convenient - just 5-7 minutes up the hill from...

I was surprised about the beautiful big room! Its clean shiny and really good price! I feeled not like in a hostel.it was calm. This hostel could not be more central! Its only 2 minutes to castle and near the river.

Great hotel/hostel in a superb location. We had a private room and it was massive! It was like having our own apartment. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent. Only downside was that our room had a bath only and no shower. The hotel is on a fairly steep hill since it is near the castle, but all castles are on...

Little Quarter was fantastic value for money. The 10 bed dorms were clean and airy, and they were all single beds (no bunk beds!). The lock boxes under the bed were extremely useful, and you could easily fit a big bag/small suitcase in there with no problem. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, and the free to...

Myself and my friend stayed here for 3 nights during the 'dreaded flood' period! The hotel staff were very efficient in emailing us prior to our visit reassuring us our stay would be safe (and it was). The hostel was easy to find and throughout our stay was a perfect location for everything we wanted to see. The staff were...

We've spent only one night in this hostel during our trip to China in january - the place has a perfect location, well communicated with the rest of the city. We checked in very late so we didn't actually have the chance of meeting the staff in person. Rooms are big and tidy, bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable -...

I don't think I could've picked a better place to stay in Prague. We were close to lots of restaurants, pubs, shops, bakeries and in an area full of historic buildings just below the castle and across the bridge from the old town. The double room we had was literally huge - like an apartment, and had an extra double...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
