We have just returned home to Dublin following a short four night stay in the Augustine Hotel. It was your first visit to Prague and was a memorable experience. As has already been said by previous reviewers, the physical location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wishing to explore the city of Prague. In our view, what made the Augustine stand was the sheer quality of the hotel itself and the attentive, supportive staff. The bedrooms are all immaculately clean and very well appointed. The bathrooms are large and the beds were very cofortable. The breakfast buffet is complimented with a waiter service - we thought it was excellent. There was no excessive traffic noise at night from trams or cars. The staff in the hotel are very professional and attentive - we had particularly outstanding support from Pavol at the front desk who helped make our stay at the Augustine all the more enjoyable. Our only (minor) issue with the hotel was the comparatively high cost of eating in the hotels' bar and restaurant (for lunch or dinner) but that was to be expected given the quality of the establishment. The Augustine will be on our list for our next visit.…
I can't say enough about the overall experience, it really was a once in a lifetime. The history of the hotel is incredible and it really is worth researching that. Definitely email concierge before coming about getting a tour of the property, it was fantastic. The bar and bartenders are a must, their cocktails are exceptional and definitely spend a little more to stay here.
This is a beautiful hotel with professional staff. Restaurant serves really good food, a bit understaffed, but relaxing and reasonably priced quality items. Check in and check out is quick and easy. The spa area includes steam, sauna and hamman. Smallish, but clean and convenient. Great showers. The hotel is in a great location to access The Charles Bridge and old town as well as the Castle. Impressive hotel. Really clean with comfortable air conditioning. Concierge services were very good and quite dependable.
Oh my goodness,,,I knew The Augustine was supposed to be a luxury hotel, but we were not prepared for this! A converted monastery, this is probably the best hotel at which we have ever stayed. Located inside a cobblestoned courtyard, the doorman quickly welcomes you into the lobby area, which is both simple and elegant at the same time. The hotel staff is quick to offer a glass of prosecco or wine and make check-in quick and easy. There is an elevator, but I liked to take the wide and impressive stairways up to our room. The hallways are incredibly wide (you can almost picture bygone monks walking side-by-side in prayer on the way to their chambers) as you pass by the heavy doors. Inside, our room had a large entry area which opened into a walk-in closet on the right, a large bathroom to the front and the bedroom on the left. Bathroom included a bidet, a huge tub and a large sink area. The Refectory Lounge on the first floor offers knowledgeable bartenders and a wide range of drinks. We had lunch there the first day, and it was a lot of very good food. The hotel also boasts The Augustine restaurant which appears to be consistently rated as one of Prague's 10 best. Finally, The Augustine is located near everything! The John Lennon Wall is about a 10 minute walk away, as is the bridge that will bring you into Old Town (where you definitely need to vist) and the world famous Old Town Square, home to the Astronomical Clock. The Augustine is well worth it!…
Loved this hotel. It was so special connected to a monastery. Great location and hidden from the main street. It was absolutely beautiful. Staff was exceptional and breakfast excellent. Shout out to Daniel at the front desk. He was warm, welcoming, and always had a smile! Make sure you ask when the hotel tour is, since it is not offered every day.
