I discovered Secret Harbour after investigating options on St. Thomas for a quiet, safe solo- getaway location to recharge and do some snorkeling. I was able to find all of that plus much more at this awesome resort. I went in October 2011 by myself...More
Maybe I should keep Secret Harbour a secret, but I had such a good time I can't keep it to myself. It's why I go back again and again. Secret Harbour is just the right size. Smaller than the big, impersonal hotels, and situated not...More
We arrived at the resort at noon and we were not allowed into our room until 3:00. The next day we were told we had to be out of the room at 11:00 am. The maids were waiting at the door to get into clean...More
This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at Secret Harbor in the last 16 months. So yes, we really enjoyed our first two visits in August 2010 and January 2011. We arrived on December 21, 2011 for our latest visit and...More
I really would'nt convince somebody to choose this resort but I cant say "stay away" either. This is a FAR cry from what I'd expect from a " beach resort" but my overall experience was ok- so if you end up here, rest assured, you are...More

Didn't stay in that room but Tom A. seems to have hit the nail on the head with most of his comments. We were on the top floor and I would only do that again too however people with ground floor rooms can walk right out from their patios if you get up early and snatch a good spot on the beach by putting towels out on the chairs. Beach is fair in size but that's all relative to other places. You should get some chairs and an umbrella set-up early. St. Thomas has a rule where no beach is private (I believe) so people from cruise ships can come on to the beach there. That only happened a little when we were there in March.
Restaurant is top notch. Beach bar is okay, service is so-so. Views are fantastic. Taxis are a must if you have to go anywhere. Overall, a very nice place, quiet, peaceful and in the case of our room very well-appointed. Regret not going to Magen's Bay.
DO NOT walk to Red Hook. Too dangerous with the sight lines and winding roads.
There are lots of restaurants close but I would recommend taxis or renting a car. The roads are steep and narrow and I would not have been comfortable walking far especially after dark. We rented a car and it was great!

"We loved our condo - Rm. 226 (in bldg. 2, 1 floor up (6 steps) from beach level)."
