We've just returned from another wonderful short break at The Buck Inn. The staff are wonderfully friendly and very accommodating. They are very pet friendly, and brought our dog with us. Their allowance to the needs of pets is very helpful, and re-assuring to know that they will do everything to make the whole stay so enjoyable and relaxing. The...

The new owners have tastefully refurbished all their rooms to a high standard. I had the single and it overlooked the green where they regularly play cricket. The room and bathroom are both good sizes. I had a comfortable stay but it is a noisy pub and the background noise of TV's in other rooms and another guest snoring for...

Thank you for your positive comments about the bedroom and bathroom. I am sorry that you did not have a better night's sleep, due to the noise from other guests. We do intend to put some new bedroom doors on this year, so hopefully that will help the noise issues.

We really enjoyed a delicious lunch sitting in the garden of this pub. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the service was first class. We enjoyed hearing about the matches that the pub played against other teams. The game was outdoor quoits. The little village was also most attractive and has a cricket Pitch running through the centre...

We are really pleased that you enjoyed your lunch with us last week. It was great that the weather was kind that day, and that you were able to sit out in the garden. As I explained on the day, our young apprenticeship chef cooked your lunch, so I am glad that you enjoyed the food. I will pass on...

First stayed here in the 1990s, on my way to Teesside Airport, so chose it again to break up a journey down south. I remember it as a friendly and comfortable pub in a pleasant location. The new A1 confused me (should have updated satnav), so missed the turning off and only found the pub after a slight detour. The...

Thank you very much for taking the time to post such a positive review, which will hopefully give other people a good idea of what to expect from The Buck Inn. We have taken on board your comments about the steak & ale pie, and I do agree with the fact that the current presentation is not a true pie!...

We - that's myself, my wife, my two daughters and mother-in-law- stopped off here for dinner on the way back from Fountains Abbey to our holiday cottage near Reeth. I should mention that I know the landlord(s) already, and knowing how meticulous to detail the pair of them are, I had my expectations. Neither myself nor the rest of the...

Stayed for two nights, meeting with friends. Our room was recently modernised and very comfortable. Attractive village around a pretty village green, friendly pub with well-kept beer, and excellent pub food. Would highly recommend.
