If you haven't had the privilege of visiting this little establishment, when you are in the area I implore you to do so. Exquisite food and some of the most courteous staff I have had the pleasure of meeting.

It's been a year since we last visited - Anthea and Duncan never disappoint. Yet again we had a super anniversary dinner and stay. Relaxing, quiet, intimate, excellent food, comfy bed and duvet. Friendly welcome from resident retrievers, Teign and Tyne, with obligatory offering of kindling or fire wood! Highly recommend a visit for fine dining even if you don't...

We booked the Old Inn by chance as we were looking for a place to stay near Exeter for the night where we could bring our Labrador. Although we knew it served good food, we didn't realise how good. Every course was stunning, with a good wine list, and breakfast was also among the best we've had. All in all,...

I booked The Old Inn for a birthday meal for 10 friends. We had a room all to ourselves (just as well as we were a bit raucous) which really made the evening. The food was exceptional (as always) and the service excellent, sorting us all out in friendly, funny and efficient manner. It was one of the best nights...

Lovely surroundings and the best food we have had in ages. A tiny taster with the pre-prandial wine before being shown to a lovely old dining room. An amuse bouche and fabulous bread. The lobster tortellini was mouth watering and the main of seabass, brill and scallop delicious, coffee with petit fours and at about £44 per head was cheap...

I have been here several times as a treat and have never been disappointed. The food is brilliant and I have always felt very well looked after, even by the dogs who are lovely. My favourite place to eat in Devon!

We stay often in Drewsteignton. This was our first visit to the Old Inn which came highly recommended by other members of our family who had eaten here. And they were right! Anthea and Duncan were very warm and welcoming. The food was sublime - particularly the hot blackcurrant soufflé with liquorice ice cream, one of the very best desserts...

Some places try too hard to be cool - this is one of them. And the shame is that the food, the main reason people visit, is just a bit average. Far better places to eat well at more reasonable prices abound in this area. The rooms are expensive and underwhelming too.

good food in a small family run restaurant tucked away in a quiet village in Dartmoor. Pre- dinner drinks in a sofa while looking at the menu gave a very relaxed and cosy feel to the ending, as did the two retrievers who alternated between sleeping and coming over for a bit of attention. Dinner was delicious - Duncan's menu...
