There is basic hotel accommodation with adjoining bedroom units adjoining one another externally to the rear, which have a microwave, kettle and bathroom facilities. The Hotel facilities include a large restaurant and gardens offering a range of foods and stone baked pizza, plus a sports lounge. We i ly stayed the one night and unfortunately they lost our food order and the quality of bother the roast and the steak meals was quite poor when we did get them some 40 mins later, I would normally of sent them back but was so hungry at this point we just ate them.

Great stay and helpful staff. A bit older but clean and everything you need. Enjoyed restaurant was next door. Great food. Only thing was service staff were noisy very early in morning when trying to have a quiet morning. Lots of dishes clanking, pushing carts and other loud sounds. As if they wanted me out sooner than I was required. I came out and all the equipment was around my door as I tried to get my own luggage out. Maybe they could wait til people are more awake. Orixe was a bit high for older place. Would stay again possibly though.

We stayed there last night, room was very comfortable and clean. We also had dinner and the food was very nice, and the hotel has a beautiful restaurant and outdoor dining kids area. Our only issue a mend it minor was that the service was a little disorganised.. not sure if that was due to a staff shortage or just a lack of leadership. Overall a great place to stay, eat and perfect spot.

Light crowd, ordered dinner about 6.30pm. Three meals ordered, the food is "pub average" except for the spagetti dish which was undercooked pasta (heaps of it) on a thin white water base, with sprinkles of bacon chips to represent cabonara, left it, went home for dinner - dont say we didnt warn you.

The hotel and motel have been progressively renovated over the last couple of years and I found the motel room to be a huge improvement on the last time we stayed there. The old tired deco has been renewed, the interior walls repainted and you now get not only a microwave but a toaster. You used to get a kettle and that was it. The new larger screen Samsung TV was excellent as well. The hotel is now owned by Coles / Wesfarmers as part of their hotels and bottle shop portfolio and they seem to be chucking a stream of money at the place, as well as now upgrading the gardens. In the restaurant they have a really good menu nowadays with a seniors menu averaging around $15. Back in the old days the restaurant was pretty hopeless but the new setup is really good, and no complaints about the quality of the food and the service. I think a lot of the older reviews should be retired. Before moving to NSW in 2012, I lived round the corner for many years and have seen the hotel / motel in its various ups and downs - mostly downs - but very pleased to find it on the way back up again and more than happy to recommend it as a fuss-free stopover or a short visit for couples or solo travellers.

We were looking forward to seeing the new look bristro after much hype I have to say , what a disappointment!. The layout and decor is much the same as before. Basically cafeteria style, open area crowded with tables and chairs. No atmosphere whatsoever. Certainly not somewhere you would go for an intimate dinner date. Why not divide up the huge space to provide some unique spaces for diners to feel some sense of intimacy. To cap it all off, the drinks have become overly expensive, $22.50 for a glass of beer and a glass of wine. This beats Sandstone Point prices!! All up a big disappointment!?

We wanted to give the hotel “a go” to find an alternative to the RSL, which is a well run venue. Unfortunately it was a total disaster. There were 6 of us ordering a meal. The restaurant (well, it has the charm of a canteen) was at approx 30% capacity, the beer garden was closed die to rain, but the kitchen was struggling. It was evident that the whole place was disorganised, out of their depth. Our friend’s meals arrived undercooked, chips were almost raw. Our meals didn’t arrive at all. I followed up and was told “soon”. After a while I walked up to the bar again and was offered a cash refund. We were there for another 10 minutes to finish our drinks when the meals arrived. We ordered a side salad, because the menu did not say that the meals come with some salad. However, the salad never arrived. I asked whether the new beer garden was dog friendly and was told yes. The next day I read that only the Sports Bar allow dogs. Obviously staff aren’t trained well. Bottom line is that neither us nor our friends will go back in a hurry.

It's good to have a classic pub on island, among all those cafes and restaurants. I didn't dine there yet, but loved rooms and sports bar. They make sure that car, parked at the front of the room, is in a shade whole day, thanks to huge roof. Rooms are smart build for this weather having a cathedral ceiling in bathroom and hallway. 2 minutes of strongest air conditioner I came across, was enough to cool whole room down for a long time. Sports bar is my favourite sunset place. I just wish the beer is cheaper, and some better varieties added to the list. Staff at the bar is lovely.
