Located on the sea front at Bongaree this is a 'U'shaped complex of 3 storeys high.

Car parking provided under the complex accessed by electronic key to garage.

the management keep the complex is excellent condition - nothing is too much trouble for these hard working Kiwis (yep!).

There is a solar heated pool in the centre that, like all pools in Australia issurrounded by a child proof fence, so they cannot just walk in to the pool itself.

the complex is facing athe main road but it is not too loud - it may be an idea to keep an eye on the small ones since the gate to the complex is only closed at night so access is easy on to the pavement.

Nighlife - not really! there are some cafe/takeaways and a decent restaurant - for a beer you have to go to either the RSL or the bowls club - not bad though and you get a decent meal as well (lunch or dinner).

Teenagers will get very bored here unless they have a car.
Shopping - a small mall is 10 minutes walk away - has an IGA (grocers) and a good bakers and butchers. Post office and bric a brac just down the road from the complex.

Its quiet and relaxing - this being Bribie and Bongaree there are a high proportion of OAP's.

Want quiet? this is the place.

Ok place but quite dated and there are rules everywhere! Ground floor is not ground floor - you have to go up 7 steps which was a problem for us since I specifically asked for ground floor. IThe female manager was very rude on the phone and I was annoyed that she was not honest. As a result we had to carry a wheel chair up 7 steps! Pool was quite nice but is locked at 7:30pm - ridiculous for a holiday apartment complex. Room had a nice verandah but light were blown, the fan in the main bedroom did not work, there were things under the couches which clearly were not moved for cleaning and the cushions were old and musty smelling. Position is good but really needs an upgrade for the price paid!

Comfortable cosy apartments that are older style but worth the money. The bedrooms are nice and large, nice bathroom. I will say I have no idea how this place stays afloat with the terrible attitude and service I recieved from reception. I've never come across anything like it in my life, the woman we dealt with was extremely rude. That is the only thing that will stop me returning here in the future. Also under the beds looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

We loved the location, right across from the beach and shady park. However the actual apartment was not ideal for our family. The balcony railing is very low, my toddler immediately started climbing it when we arrived. Very dangerous.

I asked if there was a ground floor unit available, but they are actually raised quite a distance from the ground also (there are steps so not ideal for prams or those with mobility issues).

The rooms are huge and there was an extra foldaway bed (which we paid $50 extra to use with our own linen).

There is one large swimming pool (no wading pool) but the main issue with the pool was the very rough surface on the ground around the edge. My toddler's legs got completely scratched and grazed. I understand pool surrounds need non-slip surfaces, but this was rougher than sandpaper and grazed skin very easily.

There is an underground car park but our car was too tall to fit underneath (Prado).

Staff were not overly friendly or accommodating, just there to do their job I guess. We were later charged an extra $50 cleaning fee. When I enquired, it was due to a wet mark on the fabric couch (the kids had been eating ice blocks while I packed up). I wish I'd noticed that and given it a wipe with a cloth myself!

It wasn't terrible, just not ideal for our family with young children.

We spent a midweek at this resort. They have great facilities for children and being situated right on the Swarvlei, have beautiful views and great opportunities for younger children. The staff was great, especially the Maintenance Manager, Grant, who is a real star. ⭐. Great week here and we will be back.

I have had a pleasurable stay while at Placid Waters Holiday Apartments. Both Annette and Rob have been friendly and most obliging throughout my seven months. During this time I stayed in several of the units due to work commitments. The units where always clean and tidy and with great quality linen. My unit has always faced the ocean with a great verandah to sit out on. The beds have always been fantastic with good quality pillows. The area was so good with a fantastic Bongaree Bakery next door and and a great selection of takeaways and restaurants close by…..even able to head down to the bowls club for a cheeky ginger beer.

Very rude management. When I booked I asked for ground floor as I'm disabled, when we got there, there were seven steps to our unit. Also when I booked I told the lady that there would be four adults and maybe two children, I paid extra for the children, but was not aloud to have towels for them.

Albeit the facility is dated, it was one of the best accommodation houses around. It is spacious, well appointed, clean and managed very well. Location could not be better and it’s size was exceptional. We would happily stay for more than a week. The whole ambiance was one of relaxation and functionality. The heated pool only added to our stay. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The 2 bedroom apartment was huge. Own balcony with clothesline. Very well stocked items in the kitchen & laundry.
Loved that it had its own washing machine & dryer.
Beautiful pool.
Across the road from the beach. Walking distance to shops etc.
Checkin was easy.
Loved staying here. Will definately be back.😀

We had an unpleasant experience on arrival - they wanted to charge more than our quote 'due to us being misquoted when we booked' and then a very surly attitude when we argued we had a price in writing. They did give us the originally quoted price 'complimentary' but I have actually never in my life experienced such a horrible demeanor from an accommodation (if you read my prior reviews I always try to highlight the positives in any stay and am not a demanding or unrealistic traveller by any means).
The motel has a convenient location. The rooms were spacious and reasonably well equipped. However, we had to rewash several plates. The oven interior was very dirty and had obviously not been checked/cleaned. We found very old used medicine packets that were under the single bed (that they had apparently put in the room just for us) - I don't believe the beds had been cleaned under in an extremely long time. However, the unit was surface clean, the linen clean and beds comfortable. We slept well, but while we were not expecting the Ritz (this is a motel on the budget end of Bribie Island) we were definitely disappointed with our choice and would not stay here again.
