Detailed Reviews
Newly renovated and now almost back to normal the culinary road restarts. Platters were extremely well portioned to the point I couldn't finish my scnitty. On the schnitzel it was enjoyable but I found the mushroom sauce a little cold. The salt n pepper squid was enjoyed, but after tasting the scnitzel they wish they ordered that. Service was friendly and prompt and it made the night an enjoyable evening. We have had others in the area to compare it to, so by all means go and partake in the ambience that is The Feathers.

I can't fault the service and the atmosphere at this sprawling establishment, but the food is really disappointing! My friend had the $29 chicken shnitzel, which she reported was made of composite chicken like a chicken nugget. My margherita pizza was supposed to be topped with flor di latte but instead was so completely smothered with grated mozzarella cheese that it actually steamed the otherwise good pizza crust. I hope the restaurant will choose to offer food that is equal to the quality of the prices.

We went here for dinner, I had the Sea Salt and Black Pepper Squid which was good. Some in our group had a variety of meals which they did not enjoy. One in our group even said their meal smelt off. The wait staff were not very good as they brought out a few wrong meals and drinks.

Our party of 7 had dinner at the Greenhouse restaurant on 06/12/19. I had family visiting from Brisbane who were vegans/vegetarians. The chef was unable to accommodate their dietary requirements so they were forced to order from the Terrace menu. Sadly the burgers and tacos were tasteless. My scotch fillet steak with pepper sauce came out blue instead of medium and was sent back only to be served the same steak which was tasteless and tough. The crab linguine lacked crab and overpriced for what it was. Roast of the day was fatty. Chocolate, fig and hazelenut semifreddo for dessert was small and disappointing. The presentation of the food was also terrible. To top it off we were charged for items we did not order. The saving grace of the night was our waiter Eli who did his best to look after us. All in all it was a disappointing expensive night and my email feedback to management was disregarded. It is disappointing the hotel has been renovated to such a high standard yet they have failed to pay the same level of attention to the food. I am more than happy to pay for a well cooked meal which this was certainly not. We will return to the Feathers for a drink but certainly not to dine.

We had A family Dinner in the Greenhouse.
It took us 1.5hrs to get our meal.
When it arrived sit was cold and the so called
Chowder was a sloshy mess of vegies with dried
up pieces of fish on top. Price $28
They refunded the cold steak sandwiches after requesting
to speak to Area Manager. We were serviced by a Supervisor
from the Bar Area. Staff in this area was minimal.
Very disappointing for such a nice hotel.

Dined there for lunch and was very disappointed. The curry of the day was bland and watery with small pieces of chicken accompanied by lumpy rice and a pappadum ($26.00). The staff were polite and friendly but the service was poor. I would not go there again and would not recommend if you are looking for a tasty meal. Such a shame as the decor and ambience is very lovely.

+1
Very happy with the service from Mia and other staff with a table of 9 people. Food was lovely with large meals and minimal wait time. Good prices generally except the oysters were overpriced but tasty.
Nice atmosphere. Air conditioning was directly on us which was quite cool for a rainy evening.

We were at a private function in The Pavilion of The Feathers Hotel.
The service and running of the function was overseen by Carmen who was very good, nothing was too much trouble, the other waiting staff were also very helpful at all times.
Being on the deck was the most perfect spot as the weather on the day was glorious.

Catching up with friends the restaurant looked beautiful. Our waiter struggled a little with our questions. Food was quick enough for a Monday night however the taste was so poor and bland. Fish was ok as was the salad, the fries though were so hard I couldn’t eat them. We didn’t bother with dessert. I expected better for the location.

Great hotel with many room options, food was a culinary experience, very reasonable prices too. Service was attentive and welcoming. Our party of five all had delicious meals. We finished the evening off with the smoothest coffees we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this venue.
