Using Covid as an excuse to have no room service, no gym and no hot tub is rubbish. There are no restrictions any more, I think it’s just cost savings by Mercure. Restaurant was average, food quite expensive, with no tablecloth, lights bright, not even a candle. Not good enough. Rooms were basic, without the view, it would be a motel at best.

We arrived at Clear View Mountain Lodge must say the drive was amazing and the exterior of the lodge is impressive, sorry it stops there. The reception was not very welcoming and when we received our key we were given a location map to find our room unfortunately the room locations wasn't signed correctly luckily one of the guest had a similar problem and showed us to our room. On arrival to our room, needles to say we were excited about the view as we had booked a room overlooking the valley. Opened the sliding door looked out to a vey over grown garden and out of control bamboo which impeded our view somewhat. Rang the restaurant only to be told they were almost fully booked with outside guest which was surprising I would have thought the guest in the lodge would have first option. We got in for dinner at 7.00 pm the girl squeezed us in apparently as there was only 5.30 and 7.30 left. We were impressed with the menu only to be disappointed with the outcome, my entrée was soaked and I mean soaked in garlic ruin the whole dish. I ordered salmon the waitress informed they do their salmon to medium which I like unfortunate it was well done, the carrots were raw and almost impossible to cut. I did mention the entre to the waiter only to get sorry and he walked off not a good response. Anyway enough said great location needs and bit of TLC and staff training and a gardener with a new chef maybe. Overall won't be going back again unless Mercure lifts their game we need a great lodge like this close to Brissy but not like this. Just one more note I don't normally rate places we stay but after hearing other guest mentioning a similar experience I thought it may get Mercure to do something. GREAT LOCATION SHAME ABOUT THE LODGE.

We booked through luxury escapes for two nights. We got room at the front on second floor overlooking the gardens courtyard. There is no lifts, so lugged luggage up two flights and stairway was very dirty. Our room was all you needed but a wedding was on the Thursday afternoon and night just below us, so would not recommend these rooms. Best rooms are at the back of property and away from under the restaurant as well which is the room we were then moved to due to the issue of noise. It was room 45 and though better was too hot to sit on balcony as no shade. Breakfast was included and very good. The restaurant was very good but not cheap and no where else close to go for dining in this area. I would not stay there again only because it was a one off occasion for some peace and quite. Rebecca at Reception was just wonderful and a great asset to this place

We had a room overlooking Lake Samsonvale which was great. The restaurant at the hotel has food that is ok but the views inside and out are great with a family of possums for entertainment. The only issue at the restaurant was that we had to pay a public holiday surcharge plus no Accor Plus member dining discount which made that meal very expensive. The room was comfy but facilities are tired and the pool area lacks some space around the pool for the room for many people.

Our room was very welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. We had a welcome bottle of bubbles in the fridge which was a lovely surprise. We ate at Mandy's On the Mountain restaurant and our meals were delicious.
