I wanted to keep costs down during my recent trip to King Island. I had shopped around and found Bass Cabins to be great value. Situated approx 1.5kms from the Currie's town centre, this site has two self-contained cabins. Each has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area. I stayed in Cabin 1, which has one double bed and two bunk beds. Cabin 2, I believe, has two double beds. Bedroom linen is supplied and bed was made. Double bed was nice and firm. Kitchen has a stove top, microwave, toaster, kettle and enough kitchenware for cooking and eating. Bathroom is clean. Towels are provided. Hot water works are pressure is okay. There is a separate private amenities block just outside the cabin. It has another shower, toilet and hand basin, but I didn't have a look at it. During my stay, the wind speeds on King Island were very high. As a result, cabin noise and slight movement was an issue. Other than that, I was happy with my stay and how much I had saved.
