Stayed here in an apartment for 8 with friends, 4 adults and 4 children. Comfortable house with all basics, we did have a few issues with ac and water but hosts sorted out everything even changed our apartment. Beach is 2minutes walk, however it cannot be viewed from apartments maybe from rooms higher up. Would recommend for a relaxing stay.

I understand that COVID has caused a lot of damage to resorts etc. so I’ll take that into account. The negatives first, We had no restaurants or bars opened, no under cover car park available, needs a face lift. The positives are fantastic location, clean tidy rooms, everything you need is available. The beach is very close. Good games room. Quite. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and professional.

Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Stuck in their peak in the 80’s and not much has changed since, especially the facilities. Customer service is very average, had someone yelling at me from across the foyer to put my mask on while I was having a drink… To top it off, our room had a very strong burning smell in the night. We woke up and had a look around tried to go back to sleep until the fire alarm went off in our room. We called reception and explained the situation. We hadn’t touched the heating since we got there, they were not fazed. Reception told us to ignore the smell and open the door for the rest of the night. Didn’t even come down and check it out. Had to get out, could not stay another night. Save you’re self and go elsewhere! Definitely does NOT deserve “4 stars” in any way.

The complex is crying out for refurbishment. You enter a lobby of huge proportions with no soul. It looks like most of the furniture has been removed. Our garden view room was tired and the view looked out over the car park and a neighbouring construction site. The shower flooded the bathroom due to a lack of fall in the shower. We had to create a dam with the shower mat to contain the flow. The corridors were just that - a corridor, with tired paintwork and tired carpet. We dined in the restaurant one night. The menu was uninspiring but due to the cold weather we really didn't want to venture out. After a days sightseeing we headed to the bar for a drink, there isn't anywhere to sit except at the dining tables and we weren't able to order snacks with our drinks as the restaurant didn't open until 5.30pm. I thought host responsibility meant you had to serve a bar snack menu if you were serving alcohol? I'm aware that these are trying times for the hospitality industry but Opal Cove needs to up its game to call itself a resort.

We stayed here after a pre booking before covid hit and could not get a refund so we used it before it ran out. The resort is so tired and it is sad to see as it was a great resort once upon a time. We stayed in honeymoon suite. If I was a honey mooner I would be so disappointed. The bathroom is falling apart. The tiles are about to fall of wall. The view is looking over a roof . Very out dated. The staff were pleasant enough but we needed to depart early giving 24 hr notice and they would not re credit our room. A loss of over 300 dollars. Unless they gutter and revamp resort that will be our last visit..
