We stayed in the One Bedroom Heritage Villa. The pool was perfectly warm 24/7 with pool towels. There were 2 in room services per day, the cleaning\restocking the bar fridge and a turn down service. The turn down service was amazing, they would put on the fireplace, some music from the TV, slippers and make the bed ready for bed. I've never experienced this before!

Every staff member was so warm and friendly and greeted all of us by name. Opened doors for us, gave us blankets at the lunch table if it was a bit cool and even asked if we wanted take away coffees if we were too full after lunch for one!

The little bus that took us to the stables tour had blankets and mini hot water bottles for every seat. The tennis courts had bottles of still and sparkling water. So many added touches that made everything absolutely perfect.

If we were too tired or it was too cold to walk back or to anything, they would drop us off or pick us up with their buggies. My daughter loved that!

From the moment of arrival to the minute of departure, we felt like royalty. This is the best by far that I have every stayed at.

The only minor change I would suggest is to include the horse riding as part of the package.

Australia is a big country that unfortunately don't have a lot of great resorts in remote area. But O&O Wolgan valley is definitely one of the best, if not the best, resort in this country!

The location, layout, and design are just so perfectly humble and unassuming. And it is further complemented by a roster of amazing hosts that know the destination very well: the savana, the hills, the rivers, the animals, event they know exactly where the sun rises - normally hotel staff just say 'east' or 'west'.

But what very special for us the bushfire conservation program. We all know how the wildfire went out of control in Australia in the past years. By all means, it's not a natural disaster. It is man made! This conservation program includes tree planting, animal rewilding, etc. Experiencing this is one thing that we will never forget for a lifetime. We will surely be back!

The location and staff are still top notch. The villa and bed still very comfortable. However, on our 6th visit to the resort we noticed others could be better. Spa bath is not working. Steam room is not working.
A lunch sharing menu or any sharing menu has no place in a 5 star luxury resort unless it’s in a yumcha or tapas bar setting. One of the things that we enjoy at the resort are the inclusive wines on the menu. We noticed that the quality and selection has deteriorated starting on our 4th visit to the resort. The selection was so much better under Emirates management. The previous 5 course dinner menu and 3 course lunch menu was so much better than the current menu. The meat that was served is far from tender.

The property and nature is beautiful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa priced at $8,750 per night, the equivalent of a Presidential Suite. The service did not match the price we were expected to pay for the room. Minimum stay was 3 nights, and the food options for lunch and dinner became very boring as the menu does not change, and there is no personal chef (which should be included at the price we paid per night)

For our wedding anniversary we traveled her for 3 nights. From the moment you arrive you are feel like you are being spoiled. The rooms blend into the environment beautifully and the use of timber and stone is divine. Fire place and bath looking out to the bush were my favourite. The homestead were we had meals was so lovely and cosy. Food was delicious and lots of options. The only recommendation I gave it that I think for the high price it should include a Spa voucher. Stables tour is a must

Such an amazing resort. We enjoyed our time that much we cancelled other plans and extended our stay. The staff were lovely and genuinely interested in the guests. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always willing to go out their way to help make the experience memorable.

The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the scenery, quietness and wildlife help one disconnect from reality and drop into relaxation.

During our stay we had several spa treatments and highly recommend trying a sound bath by Sonia. The experience is difficult to describe, but it is one you are unlikely to forget.

We recommend staying at Wolgan Valley if you want to disconnect from the busyness of the world and take some time out for yourself to enjoy good food and wine, in a peaceful setting with exceptional service and amenities that will allow you to do as much, or as little, as you like.

We loved everything about the resort, luxurious villa, beautiful main homestead with open wood fire, amazing horse ride experience, stunning scenery and wildlife.

BUT the reason we started considering splurging for our anniversary was the food. Bentley do some of the best food in Sydney and Wolgan by Bentley is the best rated restaurant in the blue mountains. We were expecting something spectacular and instead got a set menu (no choice) which included a bowl of salami for entree and vegan custard (oxymoron - more a firm coconut jelly with skin on top). There was sourdough to start but no amuse- buche or even olives or oil and vinegar, and to top it all off everything was glaringly under salted. The waiter said they were trialling new dishes which may or may not be added to a future menu, but it felt lazy and almost disrespectful to people who were paying $3100 a night to eat there. It was a meal I might expect to pay $80 for (actually I’d probably go elsewhere if I walked into a restaurant and saw that was the menu and there was no other option), not the ~$300 experience I was expecting.

Oh and the breakfast menu was eggs only, plus a buffet, not the menu on the website which included lots of interesting options like French toast and Bircher muesli.

Despite the great resort, we won’t risk our money again.

Checked in for 3 nights and was looking forward to a relaxing time and also to experience new chef James Viles having eaten several times at his old restaurant Biota dining. Unfortunately our overall experience is one not becoming of a One&Only property.
Our in villa pool was in a disgusting state during the whole of our stay - not only could we not use it as the water was freezing it also had, as the pictures would show dead flies and crumbling sandstone!
As a One&Only property we would expect more than that. It was VERY disappointing that for the 3 days we were there with temperatures in the high 20's and 30 that we could not use the pool. Unacceptable, even after we brought it to management's attention. The heater in the the pool was off and was then turned back on and the temperature probably only went up by 1 degree. It beggars belief that our room was thought to be ready for guests with the pool heater tuned off and the water freezing.

Breakfast was another poor performance* by staff which we overlooked but 2 days(!!!) of being served by a staff member who looked as if she took her shirt out of the wash basket and put it on it was soo creased and unkempt looking.! Again unacceptable standard for this property.
Should I have said something at the time? Maybe but its not my job to alert management on staff appearance. I suppose the most disappointing thing was that it was over 2 breakfast shifts (Friday & Saturday) and not one of her work colleagues or restaurant supervisor saw it fit to advise her to iron her shirt!!
* On our first breakfast Friday morning we were given a continental tray before our hot breakfast order, Saturday no and when I queried I was told that I should have asked for it, really, if it is and it should be part of our breakfast it should as a matter of course served automatically. On watching other guests, it would appear that 50% got it automatically, the others didn’t get it at all. That is again a poor showing, guests not getting what they are entitled to.

On check in our credit card details were taken, but on check out we were told that there was no credit card details on record ??? another example of poor staff management. Not a major issue but when coupled with our other disappointments it became another irritating issue.

As was on our first and recent visit housekeeping was on point, villa always left in spotless condition. Chef James Viles was again for us highlight in an otherwise rather ordinary stay. Harry perfect bar tender loves his job and it shows.

Can we put up with disappointing facilities and poor staff management to endure another stay, I think not for the foreseeable future.

Once I arrived at the Welcoming entrance a glass of Rosé offered to us gave me the impression of warmth which could only be felt at those south east Asia resorts. The lunch BBQ with lobster and entrée seemingly Arabic style mostly probably influenced by the resort owner Emirates was beautiful but portions and quantity too much to finish. Do not forget to ask the restaurant manager to show you their wine cellar. Good wine with very reasonable prices. Picnic lunch at Panorama Deck brought us to a dream with all surroundings as green, nature and rocks without any human traces. Nocturnal 4-Wheel Drive Bus Spotlight tour was unforgettable. Kangaroos and wombats. 1832 Homestead Museum is only 10 minutes from those guest houses, worth spending an hour. Walking trails are good for capturing photos of kangaroos at close distance.

Yes it does. Quite an extensive menu for all meals. The staff are very obliging and friendly and will change any dish or do a special meal. Cater for children as well. Drinks at meal times are included but the poolside alcoholic drinks are not included. Pre dinner drinks at the bar are also included. You will love it there, we certainly did and it was our second time there. We will definitely go back.

Smart casual. Collared shirt for dinner is appreciated. It’s quite hot right now- between 26 and 34 degrees Celsius. A little bit cooler at night. Swimming costume, good shoes for walking and a hat. Enjoy.

I would definitely contact the resort directly, before making your decision on whether to go. We were there several years ago during a fire in the Blue Mountains. Two roads out were closed for several hours and the resort offered us and our driver (who had gotten in an hour and a half earlier) accommodations due to the fires. One of the roads opened in an hour and we left. The fires are worse now than they were then. Good wishes on making the right decision.
