We stayed for four nights and really enjoyed it. The hostel is directly on the huge beach. Around it there are only a few other hostels, a little supermarket and some restaurants. So if you wanna have a quite time and surf you should go there. Also there are sometimes little parties in the hostel with campfires which was really...

Girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights. Was fantastic, good location on the beach. The hostel manager arranged transfers from Managua for us, and picked us up himself. We went on a fishing trip to which was cool. Easy access to other places for board hire and the waves out the front are a fun on the high tide. 10m walk...

Every year I come and stay at this hostal. The first time it was for five months. Everytime I left I couldn't wait to come back.Dont listen to the wankers complaining about the kitchen or bathrooms. The problem is all the uneducated travellers who usually live with their parents at home and constantly need someone to wipe theirs a_ss or clean...

This is a great building with a great location right on the beach. However, because there is no fresh water, the place is perpetually dirty even though there is someone there to clean everyday. Although there is a kitchen for cooking, it is terribly dirty. They now have freshwater showers available for guests outside starting at 4pm. Also, another guests...

Hi Benzer! Thanks for your feedback, I apologize if something got stolen from your friend, this is not acceptable. In brief, we ran into bad luck with the cleaning lady that covers our trusted cleaning lady's day off, we let her go because of this, we now have a trusted cleaning lady and guarantee this won't happen again. Dear guest...

Good spot for buddies traveling to surf playa popoyo. Driver Mario is always ready to bring you to surf very nice guy. No fresh water but it's cheap and there is always a good vibe. We rented out the top room and it was a great place to unwind after surfing

I spent Christmas here. I had a great time with awesome people. I loved the vibes and the layout of the hostel was perfect - huge chill out area, big kitchen, perfect location right on the beach, the most beautiful sunsets and the Swedish worker there made us feel so at home. The only thing that we couldn't handle (that...

Popoyo beach hostel has been one of my favourite beach hostel in Nicaragua. I travelled with my boyfriend, we had a big private room with our own bathroom and shower. The whole hostel is big and spacious, beautiful paintings and furniture, right on the beach. Upon departure, we missed our transport to Rivas, and as the hostel owner arrived surprisingly...

Very chilled hostel with adequate rooms and factilities, fans in the rooms make sleeping very easy! The view from the hammocks outside, upstairs and at the beach bar are incredible. I stayed here for a few days but wish I could have stayed longer! Buying food from the supermarket and cooking in the kitchen was ideal on our budget.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The beach is right on the door step. And there are 2 little (overpriced) shops in walking distance for basic groceries to make use of the kitchen facilities. If you want to save money BYO booze and food. Only reason for the 3 stars is for 3 reasons: 1. The website makes it sound...

Hi Rob! thanks for your comments and feedback, I agree with you in a lot of things. Yes, super markets in the area are not the cheapest, It's not a bad idea to bring your food from another town if you are looking to save. You might save at least 30 percent if you bring it from outside. We all...
