North East Victoria is God's Country. The drive up to the Chalet is not very long. At the top the view is tremendous. We watched some people jump of the top to sky dive. The turn off is just before Bright, so there is Myrtelford, Porepunkah, on the way to Mt Hotham and Falls Creek. A beautiful drive.

The MT Buffalo Chalet is a grand old building which is reviewing some much needed tender loving care. Stone is being replaced as well as Windows. It is run down and hopefully will be brought back to its former glory. It's worth a drive up Mt Buffalo for a look and to see the amazing views from the car park.

Visited on 1 October and enjoyed lots of beautiful white snow cover which had built up over the last while. Chalet remains under construction by don't let that stop you from driving to the top and enjoying the beautiful snow.

The Mount Buffalo Chalet is listed for repair and as such isn't open at the moment. There is so much potential for this heritage building to become a highlight of the region and hopefully it will return to its former glory. There is a picnic area in front of the chalet, and there are walks ranging from short strolls to...

Mount Buffalo is a must visit location in every season. Easy walk trails from the Chalet around Lake Catani, or push on for the big walk up the Mountain. Great snow play, all within the beauty of an Apline national park. The Chalet building is currently closed, but a $7m budget has been allocated to bring back some of its...

The viewing area at the Mount Buffalo Chalet offer superb views well worth travelling for. Although the old historical Chalet is presently closed the building is handsome and imposing. On the day of our visit the clouds parted and provided us with outstanding views of the surrounding valleys thousands of feet below. Buses ferried tourists and school groups through grand...

My wife and I have stayed her twice on the 2000's and we found it an absolute hidden treasure. The charm, the parrotts that feed from your hand, we even done an on-site Caving experience and saw the beautiful glow worms, the views were overall amazing. It was a former Victorian Railways owned resort but obviously went bust with privatizstion....
