We stayed at Quamby House as we had a friends wedding nearby and for the price we paid we were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and clean (and warm with good heating), the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of breakfast supplies. The owners of the homestead even came out at 11pm at night to give us a...

Unlike other c1850-1900 Homestead B&B's and many modern B&B's we have stayed in, the c1885 Quamby Homestead house was off limits to the guests (other than the verandah and doorbell), used by the family only. Apparently the previous B&B cook's kitchen had been turned into a bedroom for one of their children. We were relegated to one of the five...

The pool is off-limits to guests & there is no wifi in or close to the room. The breakfast was not al all what we expected either, consisting of two packets of cereal, yogurt, a half-loaf of brea, & a couple of pieces of fruit to be eaten in the room. Seemingly all business is to be taken care of...

We have stayed previously at this gorgeous oasis. The gardens and exterior homestead are quite beautiful. Samantha(host) is a nice, welcoming lady but new to hospitality. The guest rooms are fine, nice sheets. For the price per night, I think breakfast could be a little more substantial. When you are aware of incoming guests I would have thought the rooms...

We looked forward to our stay here, the website sold it to us, free wifi, guest lounge etc, etc. We arrived on a particular hot day (mid 30's) and rang the doorbell for the area label reception. The owner appeared after a few minutes with portable eftpos machine in hand and said to my wife and I, that my credit...

For the price of the room, you would expect a spotless room (there was dust on the lamps) and a cooked breakfast. Breakfast was provided but it was just cereal and toast in your room. The homestead was beautiful.

We were met by the new owners who had recently moved in. We stayed in the School House which was comfortable but we were told that the house would now be used as a family home only, that we would not be using the main building but the owners would still be organising weddings in the grounds. We feel that...

We stayed at Quamby Homestead for four nights while attending the Port Fairy Folk Festival. Kevin booked this last year as a surprise Christmas present for me, when it was run by previous owners, and it had a top class reputation. As it was a surprise, Kevin had requested that emails not be sent, so we didn't,t receive the email...

We stayed for 2 nights at Quamby homestead. On the website it states: You can.....lose yourself in the superb, Victorian guest lounge in the Homestead (equipped with digital (free to air) television and DVD player). This was not what happened. On arrival, we were greeted by Samantha. She took our payment for our whole stay, gave us a key to...

We recently stayed here after we finished the great ocean road trip. It's about 30 mins away from the finishing suburb and so much more value for money. The grounds are beautiful as is the accommodation. The couple whom own and run the property were very gracious and friendly. Highly recommended.

Quamby Homestead, located just 25mins from Warrnambool and Port Fairy, is an idyllic stopover between the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians and en route to Adelaide. This historic (built in 1888) 4 Star homestead offers the opportunity to soak up some history whilst enjoying fine accommodation in the serenity of a 3-acre garden setting. Guest rooms are set within the botanic gardens, separate from the Homestead and all with private entrances. For a short visit, stay in one of the five Mews Rooms with Queen or twin single beds, and our family suite for 4 people. Or for a longer break the original School House and the converted 2 bedroom Carriage House offer the space to relax and unwind. The rooms, all located within the garden, have different outlooks - garden, farmland or the dams and farmland. Soak up the ambiance, relax and enjoy, or spot kangaroo, echidna, possums, and study the historic plantings in a relaxed, private atmosphere.
