What a fantastic place to relax. Two nights to unwind before the Christmas rush. Lovely clean apartment (Snowgum)
with very comfy bed. Every thing you need is supplied and a quick trip to the local supermarket to stock up on supplies ensured that we made the most of the accommodation. Two little “nooks” to chill out and the outside spa was a bonus to relax with a cold beverage overlooking Mt Bogong.
Thoroughly recommend this place to unwind in with amazing scenery.

We stayed one night for our wedding anniversary Snowgum honeymoon chalet and absolutely loved it. The decor was gorgeous. The one bedroom chalet had everything you would need.
Great location. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Dreamers as a family of 4 plus two boyfriends, and enjoyed a relaxing and fun time. We stayed in an eco apartment, which was very nice, but we were all a bit disappointed with a few misleading statements from the website. We were looking forward to a log fire and an outdoor hot tub, which were mentioned on the website. Instead, we got an indoor spa bath only comfortably fitting one person, and a gas fire. The lounge area was the biggest disappointment, because the configuration of the room did not allow all 6 of us to fit, and watch the tv at the same time, which is what you want after a long day. We ended up having to move the couches which meant that we could not use the fireplace at all. While the rest of the apartment was well set up for 6 people (it sleeps 7 people max), this room would have been better suited for a couple.

In addition, the upstairs bedroom had some very odd features, including a completely see through glass door looking into the toilet and shower. It was opposite the bedroom windows also, meaning that you had to shut the blinds if you did not want the rest of Dreamers to watch you on the toilet. We ended up taping a towel over the door to get some privacy. There was also a glass bath in the upstairs bedroom, which was an interesting addition design wise, but was rather inconveniently placed, as anyone walking up the stairs could see right through the side of the bath, and on the other side it was up against an outside window, which had no blinds.

Other than these things, the apartments were beautifully designed, and decorated with many beautiful and unique features. The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable, with kingsize beds in each one. The apartment was clean and obviously well looked after, and the kitchen had everything you could ask for. The kitchen table was made out of a cross section of a tree, and was really beautiful. The separate toilet and bathroom, with two separate basins downstairs was also very convenient, considering the number of people we had staying there.

Mount Beauty is a lovely town, the walk into the centre of town only took us 15 minutes and was very picturesque. It had everything you could want including a supermarket, news agency, a few clothing stores, a couple of restaurants, etc. There was a lovely feeling of community spirit throughout the whole area. There are also many activities available in the area, including horse riding, mountain bike riding (and bike hire), inner tubing down the river, wineries, hikes, skiing (in winter), etc.

All in all, we really enjoyed our time at Dreamers, but we would not call it either luxury accommodation, or a spa (we didn't see any spa facilities or options during our stay). It wasn't as secluded as we expected, being off the main highway, and next to a camping ground, but this did not affect our enjoy at all really. The photos on the website and on trip advisor are all a little misleading because they show a combination of photos from different apartments, not all sharing the same features. The photos definitely highlight the best parts from each apartment, and omit the less favourable ones. However, Dreamers is a friendly and beautiful place to stay, and if you are looking for a DIY family holiday where everyone is keen to get out and enjoy the surrounds of Mount Beauty, this might be the place for you.

Thank you for your comments on Dreamers eco apartments. Dreamers has been uniquely designed by husband and wife design team who are the owners of Dreamers, so much inspirational flair and design passion has been woven into these eco apartments making them very unique and sustainable. They are not built to AAA Tourism standards but purely by design and comfort for guests to enjoy. This reasoning covers a few of your comments so if you like 'plain or average' accommodation Dreamers is not for you! Gas log fires are stated on our website for the eco apartments. Our new website does have individual images and text for each accommodation and two out of the four eco apartments have out door spas. Glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for reviewing our property.

How do we write this? This is very first time we have ever written a bad review about anywhere. Both of us have very busy lives in Melbourne and really value every minute we can relax and share time together. Every summer we stay somewhere close to home in Melbourne first, and then out to where ever the road takes us. From our suite in the Langham in Melbourne where we began this summer holiday (which was amazing) we decided that we would journal this summer break.

Mr Tripadvisor, or is it Ms? Did you realise that your "independent reviews" for "Dreamers" have the same pictures that their website and their "Wotif" listing ads show? I wish my partner picked up on this before he booked. The place we stayed at here really needs a serious update. It was not like the glossy pics on their website, this site and Wotif.

5 star? There was no 24 hour service, no evening dining options onsite, no breakfast, no room service. We checked with RACV and guess what? They're not rated 5 Star as they claim. "Mount Beauty's only 5 Star"

Dreamers is actually between the main highway into Mt Beauty ( right on it at the foot of a hill) and a large camp ground full of "Happy Campers" as the camp ground owners said.

We chose each of our holiday spots for couples. We wanted quiet, privacy, breakfast, massage, the nice stuff.

On arrival we were concerned with the pile of contstruction materials rubbish near the entrance. Happlily we were wrong and there was no building noise during our visit.

But this is not a quiet place. With all the summer holiday makers in the camp ground next door, traffic going up and down the hill on the highway outside, and chickens and roosters in the old house near their office and backing onto this place.

The swimming pool is nice, a little on the small side. Its problem is that all the people staying in the new development here that they call the eco units look straight out to you as you relax in the sun. As a women who doesn't flaunt myself at the beach or anywhere else l was uncomfortable here in my bikini. I was suprised to learn to that these new units, which did look interesting were actually several all joined together. Not one as it looked like when we were on the net.

Breakfast, what a disappointment. No room service here. Dinner? No thank you, your platter did not appeal to either of us.

A romantic dinner on the pier over the "trout filled lagoon?" Well it is a lagoon. Full of brown water. Would you like a nice candle lit dinner on the pier with people looking on from their eco appartments and the road? No, we didn't like that idea either and I think the mozzies would have been a problem. Don't forget the aerogard!!

There is no privacy.

There are some nice shady trees and garden here. Just watch out for the mozzies in the shade and at night.

The walk into Mt Beauty will take you 30 to 40 mins and the main street only offers a chinese restaurant at night.

We found a couple of nice cafes in the town. One of them is called Svarmisk. It's nice, clean and modern. They also offer accommodation. We took one of their cards as we did like Mt Beauty as a town. When we visit Mt Beauty again we will stay there. They offer a good breakfast, and were friendly.

I wonder how whoever owns Dreamers got such great reviews? Or have the media reviewers just never actually stayed?

l've said enough, l am sure you get my point. We were unhappy with our time here. Yes, we shall be more careful in the future and we will never book here again.

Have taken a while to reply to this review....what can I say except that you really don't like us do you! Mozzies what mozzies? never ever had a problem with them EVER. The lagoon is usually crystal clear fresh mountain water...maybe it rained when you came that IS how water turns brown for a few hours! We could go though the list of your complaints but it really is not worth the effort.

Hardly do we ever have the time to get away as a couple. On arrival the bathroom was not cleaned properly and breakfast was not included. I travel a lot and for the money they ask here it should be. When places charge $$ it must be clean without doubt and breakfast should be offered with the booking. The grounds are nice enough but do not expect it to be quiet and do not expect to be on your own. While you can see there has been effort put in here it is all confined. Indeed the website needs to offer better clarity about what you get and where you are. Particularly if you do want to be left alone and do want a little luxury with your wife or partner. Staff are pleasant.

It is always hard to respond to negative feedback but I do have a couple of responses thou to some of your comments: Winter (when you stayed with us) is our peak period and prices are at a premium due to the high demand of accommodation as we are only 30 minutes from the ski fields of Falls Creek with snow-capped mountain views. We are also fully booked over this period with guests coming and going to the snow. If you are after a quiet break the Snowgums spa chalet is the more secluded spa chalet for couples where you will be totally alone and the off peak period would be a more appropriate time to visit Dreamers. Our website is very informative with hundreds of images of the property and the surrounds...what more can we do to show you the property? We try our hardest to please our guests but it is impossible to please everyone!

Mount Beauty is very much worth the trip. Its country town style was refreshing for us both. We found plenty to do here and the information centre in the town very helpful. Falls Creek is just up the road and we did two trips there to walk near the lakes. Dont expect to be able to eat here in the resort. Luckily there were plenty of places to eat not too far away. Bright was only over the hill and there, as in Mt Beauty the autumn colours we came to see were memorable. Overall a little to pricey for what was delivered.

Thank you for your review of Dreamers. Your comment about not being able to eat at Dreamers was true at the time you came as we were just setting up our new in-house eclectic Snowbirds cafe but we are now happy to say that we are open on a Monday, Tuesday and Saturday evenings for dinner and Saturday and Sunday mornings for breakfast with a great chef in the kitchen!

A little lacking for the rate. Seems we lucked out on our cottage as it wasnt as we hoped for. So much for a "real" log fire place. The pictures must of been for some of the other cottages here. There are quite a few.

Thank you for your review of our Dreamers accommodation. We were a little confused as to the comment in regard to 'where was our log fire' as if you did stay with us you would know that all of our accommodation feature a log fire. Maybe you stayed on a quite evening when we offer guests a studio room (top floor bedroom of the eco apartments) for a cheaper price! The romantic spa chalets have a sunken lounge with open fire or a glass fronted log fire and all of your firewood is supplied free of charge to your chalet or you can even help yourself to more if required. The larger eco apartments feature a gas fired log fire for ease of use for larger groups. Your pricing comment...well I'm sure we all want something for less!

Maybe not for couples cause everyones next door nearly in your pocket. Better as a place for a friends get together. Pub 5 min down the road and brewry right over the road. They have a campground right next door for friends who dont want to pay too much on accomodation and there is a sweet little pool and some grassy lay back spots. Take the walk to town for breakfast and bring your cossie and areogard

Thank you for your review of Dreamers recently. Sounds like you were after a romantic escape? Not sure which accommodation you stayed in but the Snowgums spa chalet is the secluded honeymoon chalet which is undeniably set away from the other accommodation (on the 5 acre property) with a great private balcony spa overlooking the mountains. This is the only chalet we advertise as a great romantic escape so maybe try this one next time! Mozzies have never been a problem at Dreamers...must have just been the right climate for them the evening you stayed.

We expected a quiet retreat. We arrived to a teenage party of shouting drunk people dominating the pool and grounds. Not so peaceful. And to help us sleep? A thumping baseline. And the source of all this? The owner's friends! Yup. That's right. Her friends had lobbed over for a Aus day party. Bugger the guests!

A 4 hour Australia Day celebration for staff and guests is hardly a drunken teenage ibiza! Other fellow guests enjoyed a drink with staff and a game of pool volley ball, its a pity you didn't follow up the offer of joining in the fun! All was quiet by 8pm. What time did you go to bed to be disturbed by music which others couldn't even hear from opposite the pool/ function pavilion? It's quite a way from the other side of the property where you were located. We are sorry you were put out but we love to celebrate our heritage even if it is only a 4 hour BBQ!
