We recently spent a night at the Osler House for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. The house is lovingly furnished with antiques and artwork reminiscent of days gone by. The bedrooms are gorgeous, comfortable, and luxurious. The highlight was the amazing breakfast prepared by Gary. He is an excellent host, and takes a lot of pride in... More

This is a charming B & B with lots of historical character - feels like you've stepped back in time. Everything is nicely updated, and we really enjoyed our stay. The home owner has put a lot of effort into keeping the historical feel of the house, without it feeling shabby or run-down. The house was quiet and warm, even... More

We stayed in Osler House in Jan. 2016. We received a warm reception from the host, Gary, and he gave us a short history of the property and a tour of the house. We stayed 2 nights and the 2 breakfasts were superb. The host gave excellent recommendations on attractions in the area. We especially enjoyed the wine festival in... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary in November. Our room was beautiful and the house was very nice. It was a better choice than a hotel. However, there were some downsides. For one, when we were playing pool we find some droppings left by their cat. Also, the host was somewhat cold. It was Very nice stay,... More

I am very sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us and all that we have to offer. I am also puzzled and perplexed regarding your comment about a cat - we strictly enforce our policy of no pets in our guest house for the benefit of our guests who suffer from pet allergies. More

My husband and I recently had a Vow Renewal Ceremony / Anniversary Party at Osler House. We also booked all 3 guestrooms for friends to stay with us for the weekend. Everything was just perfect! The food absolutely exceeded our expectations. Our friends and family are still ranting and raving about Gary's incredible culinary skills. The service staff during the... More

Thank you Gary! We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Osler House. My husband and I biked from Cambridge to Hamilton and we were very lucky to find Osler House not far off the trail. I really enjoyed my time at Osler house. Gary and his daughter Kate are both excellent and friendly hosts and also great chefs- the breakfasts were some of the best I've had, ever. I stayed in the Britton Bath room which was very comfortable indeed and had everything I could want/need. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable... More

My husband is a namesake and great great nephew of Sir William Osler and was interested in tracing his roots. What better place to begin than this charming boyhood home of Sir William. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Osler House is an historic and elegant Victorian mansion built in 1848 that has been meticulously restored. Once the home of the famous and illustrious Osler family, including Doctor Sir William Osler, it is now operated as an exclusive boutique inn and has hosted many VIP guests including royalty on two occassions. Situated on a 1 1/2 acre quiet and private oasis on the most prestigious street in Dundas, it is just a 5 minute walk to the many shops and restaurants of quaint downtown Dundas; the ideal blend of country quiet and city convenience. Guests are treated to the elegance and pace of a bygone time, from the giant and rare Magnolia tree by the front door, to the house tastefully furnished with a heritage of antiques. Accommodations include exclusive access to the front parlour, billiard and garden rooms,as the owners live in completely separate quarters. Deer and other wildlife are often seen grazing on the lawn while relaxing on the front porch. Yet the house features modern amenities and communications. The complimentary breakfast also evokes a more elegant time; gourmet meals served by candlelight in the formal dining room on fine china and silverware, with pressed linen napkins. McMaster University and medical centre are 5 minutes away, downtown Hamilton is 10 minutes, and both Toronto and Niagara Falls are an hour away. Trails, parks and dozens of waterfalls are all within minutes as well. ... more   less
