Arrived starving hungry on a Saturday lunchtime, and very cold, so ready for a treat! Bossy guy behind the carvery making a big thing of being in charge, so thought he would make sure the carvery was top notch. ! . The veg was awful, I'm sure the roasters were warmed-up from the night before, and the gravy was more...

From the start of our stay, to every meal we have eaten, the service has been above and beyond what was expected. Rooms are warm and comfortable, the setting is fantastic. Booked for two night stay, to visit my friend who lives nearby. Booked through Travel Republic a week before and received a discounted price rather than booking direct. Allocated on arrival room 12 which had good views of Sand Bay opposite hotel, which was unexpected bonus. Room was furnished to a good standard and was clean and comfortable. Booked on...

If you want a good carvery at a reasonable price then the Commodore at Kewstoke is worth a visit. Sunday lunch is extremely busy so it is advisable to book. Sand Bay is directly opposite the hotel so it is handy to stroll along the shoreline to walk off your meal!

View from the room was lovely. Burned my hand under the cold tap as the water was running HOT out of both taps on the wash basin (room 12). Pointed this out to the lady on reception as we left. No apology given, just a remark that she needed a plumber !Room was dusty, the chair at the desk was...

I called for an evening pint, as this is a pub I haven't visited for a while. Nothing had changed since my visit 5 years back. I waited almost 10 minutes to get a drink - to be fair, the staff seemed busy ....although I'm not too sure what they were doing. A choice of two ales. The one I...

The staff were superb and it seemed nothing was too much trouble. They were prepared to alter things if we needed to amend meal times. Everyone present (30-50) over weekend commented on the excellent food which was cooked to perfection and served piping hot.
