Stayed here for a wedding, and the wedding organisers are what raised this to a three star review. The room was very dated. One wall had been recently decorated and looked very nice, the rest of the room - not so great! The bathroom fittings were ancient (and not in a cool retro way!), with a badly hand painted toilet... Having read earlier reviews, I was a little worried about staying here but I needn't have worried as it was lovely. Had already eaten here a few times before and had always found the food great. My room (No.7) was lovely, two big windows that looked out onto the hill and trees. Everything I needed was there. Bathroom was a... More

Booked this hotel an hour before we arrived. The staff were helpful and friendly. We booked a twin room and the view of the sea was amazing, however the weather wasn't!! The room was a little dusty but it didn't hamper our stay. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was good too.

Desperately needed a few days off and I booked The Commodore "on spec" as we had 2 dogs. What a wonderful surprise - where do I start ? Room - Yeh smelt a bit (of the previous residents) so open the window for an hour. Hotel - Dog friendly doesn't cover these hosts, bar/restaurant split into "Dog Owners" & "Non... More

Right from day one of planning our wedding, everyone at The Commodore were so supportive, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The day itself was perfect. The meal was excellent and customer service was just superb! All of our guests agreed on what a wonderful venue it is. We cannot thank everyone involved from the Hotel enough!

Fantastic evening meal, steaks fantastic as usual. The staff cant do enough to help and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I have been using this resturant for over a year and have really enjoyed all the food I have eaten here.

Stayed for four nights, staff were wonderful, very attentive and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, food in restaurant well priced and tasty. Only criticism is the bathroom in our room was a little dated. Would definitely recommend and will stay again hopefully soon.

I've learn my lesson - never stay at a hotel that dog owners love - there were aromas , sure the hotel and the dog owners will say that it had been raining when the owners took their dogs for a walk BUT I REALLY don't like doggie smells in the restaurant. The rooms were clean but the curtains weren't... More

Overnight stay for wedding in the Hotel. The Commodore is situated close to the sea (If the tides in) The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the only “disabled” room which was located in the annexe; although not fully compliant it was ok for those with a mobility problem but probably not for wheel chair use as the... More
