My wife & I stayed here for two nights in January, and what a wonderful little gem nestling in the hills above the River Wye this is, and they let dogs in too! The room we stayed in was compact and quiet, away from the main building with wonderful views over the Wye valley in the early morning. The room... More

Wonderful hosts that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Fantastic Food. I never new apple pie could be this good. Forget Premier Inns. This is much, much better for recharging your batteries. You'll be lucky to get in. There's only four rooms.

I recently spent two nights here with my dog, Barney and have come away feeling refreshed, spoilt and as if I have made new friends. As is honestly stated on their website the rooms are not the most spacious but perfectly comfortable - warm and cosy and very smartly appointed. The bar, where we could both go in the evenings,... Stayed here for 2 nights en route from Cornwall to Ludlow at the end of a two week holiday. Welcome was warm and included a pot of tea and some Welshcakes. we had booked in for dinner and soon were enjoying a pint of local ale in the restaurant. Interestingly presented nibbles (olives and gherkins and home made bread with... More

We spent just one night here in the beautiful Wye Valley. The Inn has lovely views and is situated in a very quiet location just outside Monmouth. Andy, the host is very hospitable and aims to do his best for his guests. Our room was spacious and very clean and the bed comfortable. Having had a long tiring day we... More

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Inn at Penallt. We'd been to the Wye Valley for a day's kayaking and stopped over at the Inn on the way back as a special treat. We did the overnight stay and dine package - which was excellent value for money. We had my partner's two dogs with us, so it... More

Recently spent two glorious nights in this superbly run B&B. Location is superb for exploring the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean and enjoys wonderful views of its own. The hosts, Andy and Jackie, were very welcoming and attended to our needs. Chef Peter deserves a special mention for outstanding meals; homemade bread, marmalade and butter (not to mention... More

My hubby and I needed a break so we booked 2 nights here recently. The Inn is in a lovely peaceful setting near the top of a hill overlooking a wooded valley. It has a large garden so ideal for anyone with children or dog. We had room 1 overlooking the car park. When we were there it was not... More

We stayed in Penallt as My daughter is getting married there next year. When we booked, as soon as we mentioned my daughters name Andrew knew who she was. Rooms are very well appointed and the owners are very friendly. The food, both breakfast and evening meal were lovely and the beer is well kept. We will always stay there... More

This was my second overnight visit to the Inn at Penallt and it could not be faulted. A beautiful building, inside and out, the room was spotlessly clean and well appointed, including and iron and board. The owners (Jacky and Andrew) and their staff are warm, welcoming and unobtrusively efficient. The meal, prepared by Peter the Chef, was superb and... More
