This was an incredible experience. The warmth and friendliness shown by our hosts Jacqui and John was demonstrated in the delicious dinner prepared by Jacqui and breakfast by John. It was wonderful to learn of the history of the local area from John, who also told us about the Maori culture of the region. Jacqui was friendly, helped us with...

This is a beautiful property with a very high standard of furnishings & well-equipped. It is very close to the ocean & surrounded by a pretty garden, with outside seating. The hosts are very welcoming & friendly,as well as being knowledgable regarding the area & furher afield. Most helpful. They offer dinner (for an additional charge) , which I would...

My friend and I spent two nights at Mahitahi Lodge and couldn't have been happier. We had initially been disappointed not to find something in Fox Glacier, but quickly came to realize what good fortune that was. The great room where you meet for meals has the most incredible architectural construction and your accommodations are just lovely. The peace of...

John and Jacqui were very caring hosts. A warm welcome, we stayed in the apartment but had breakfast and dinner with the other guests. Jacqui is a wonderful cook. John took us with his boat to the beach house he built himself. Wifi available. The beach is beautiful, full with driftwood. Unfortunately a lot of sandflies, so be prepared ;-)...

We stayed for 1 night on our way from Queenstown to Franz Josef, to break up the long journey. It turned out to be the highlight accommodation of our trip. The rooms were lovely (although we missed out on the King bed!!) with separate lounge, nice sized bathroom and little laundry. However the thing that made this special was the...

Our stay was Kiwi hospitality at its best! Dinner was trout pate from the nearby river and whitebait from the sea just 100 yards away all sloshed down with either local Chardonnay or Sauvignon blanc! Then we had the local catch of fish all prepared by our lovely landlady, Jacqui. I skipped the delicate desert as I was stuffed. John,...

We were very warmly welcomed by John and Jacqui to their lovely lodge for our 2 night stay. The room was spacious and well furnished - even had hair straighteners in the bathroom along with lovely toiletries. The breakfasts, cooked by John, were delicious! We joined John and Jacqui for dinner each evening with other guests. The food was exceptional,...

We were the last guests of the season with John and Jacqui in April of 2015. With the warm hospitality we received you'd have guessed we were the first. We arrived just before dusk. John offered to drive us up the beach a bit to catch the last of the sunset over Bruce Bay. What a treat! After refreshments around...
