Overall, this gasthof is nice and comfortable but not particularly notable in any respect. Room was clean but a bit drab. Breakfast was adequate. The owner, Daria, and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Signau is an ordinary town, but it does have a nice walking trail that goes through fields and along the river. It also is in...

we recently stayed at this hotel, the hotel is in a small village, picturesque landscape around, very close to train station, overall we enjoyed staying here, it was perfect end to our trip. the breakfast for low key, but fulfilling.

The Gasthof zum Baren in Signau is very convenient to the rail station and half the price of hotels in Bern, 35 minutes away. The room was large and comfortable, although the furnishings were a bit dated. The breakfast was fine with a choice of tea or coffee, bread, rolls, jellies, yogurt, cheese, and salami. Gasthof zum Baren, an old Swiss style bed and breakfast tucked neatly away in the countryside just outside of Bern, is a treasure. The rooms, while a little less modern in style, were spotless.
