I was working locally and wanted a quiet but friendly Inn/hotel. I was certainly impressed. The pub is inviting, relaxed and homely feeling. The food was excellent, the dishes were freshly prepared and used the finest ingredients. The steak was particularly good! I was only annoyed that I didn't save room for dessert. Ha! I stayed in an apartment/room in... More

We chose this pub for an overnight stay, as it was my husband's birthday and we could have a few drinks to celebrate, by having a meal in the restaurant. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff, and we were put in the wrong room. We had booked the Junior Suite, room 5. It was soon sorted out... More

Stayed overnight midweek. Fabulous location and warm welcome received from Courtney, who took time to personally show us to our room and explain all. Mentioned that they had a large party in for dinner, so advised accordingly best time to have supper. Stayed in one of the mews houses, which was full of character with a modern contemporary twist in... More

.....in a lovely Somerset village. The bedroom was warm and attractively furnished. Nasty stain on the carpet by the door. The bathroom is of high quality. How did we manage without rainforest/monsoon showers. The room rates represent great value for money! Front of house under hard working Holly is friendly and highly efficient. Time served chef Neil skilfully turns out... More

Visited with friends and have to say this was the best Sunday lunch we gave had anywhere on a very long time. Staff were very polite and friendly and the pub itself is very nicely appointed and comfy. Service was very quick and the meal itself was superb. We stayed overnight on the Sunday dinner, bed, breakfast and a bottle of wine offer. We had a very warm welcome and were shown to our very comfortable mews room. Evening food was delicious as was breakfast the following day. All the staff were most accommodating and extremely friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The sound of horses on their way to the gallops is better than an alarm clock! And the room I was in, which was fantastically comfy, was by the road the horses walk down. I arrived early afternoon and was told of some interesting things/walks locally. Back at the pub for supper I really just fancied something 'plain' - so... More
