Our stay in Merecumbe was just what we were looking for. A beautiful environment, lovely room, delicious and freshly prepared food from an ample menu and very welcoming and attentive staff. We met the owners who live on the property. Wonderful hosts, on top of every detail, giving Merecumbe a truely personal touch. The beach is great for walks and...

Simple luxury, 3 delicious meals, unspoiled beach and lovely hosts. May not be for older children who want more activities. Sun, surf, books and hammocks by the sea. Bonfire is beautiful. At the mouth of the local river. Amazing driftwood shapes to admire and collect. Go to the Parque Tayrona for amazing coastal scenes, by foot or mule. Get a...

Words don't do this place justice - I was beyond impressed with everything to the design of the rooms, to the service, to the food. Its rare that you find a family owned hotel these days - Seems that everything is being bought up by a corporate conglomerate, and spun as a "boutique" hotel - This place is an exception....

Far away from the hustle and bustle, this upscale eco lodge on the ocean is worth every penny. Family run, its individual private accommodations are huge, pristinely clean, and the outdoor private bathroom is wonderful with its high privacy wall. What a treat! The owner is the architect and they have spared nothing. The food was delectably delicious, absolutely 5...

We stayed here after an amazing road trip from Bogota via Mompos and we needed some "on the road" respite. Whilst not beach people it looked like the sort of place where we could relax for a day before continuing with a trip up into the Santa Marta mountains. Despite a certain amount of difficulty actually getting through the main...

We stayed for almost a week at Merecumbe Hotel and this was more than just relaxing! We have been welcomed and cared for in an outstanding way so one could only enjoy life. The beach is great and very laid back, only sad thing is that the sea was too wild to really swim. 20 minutes beachwalk to the east...

I stayed with my boyfriend and a friend at Merecumbe for 4 nights recently. The accommodation was beautiful. The rooms were designed to the highest of standards and the grounds were a delight. The hotel is close to a fairly deserted and absolutely idyllic beach. The hotel is very quiet and this is a tranquil retreat for a few days....

What I Liked Most: The food was simply outstanding. What I Liked Least: The eco-arrangement means cold showers and no TV, which may not be for everyone. The Merecumbe consists of a set of wonderfully constructed cottages on the beach. They are beautifully designed, and blend sympathetically with the environment. The main area has a restaurant/lounge with a large open...

I decided Merecumbe because I wanted to surprise my family at the end of our vacation in Colombia and I did! We had three magnificent days there and would have stay longer if this would have been our first stop! This is the Merecumbe experience: a combination of a fabulous place and people that stays in your heart. This boutique...

The other reviews pretty much hit the nail on the head, but I'll reiterate anyway because this hotel was most perfect, relaxing end to our 3 week trip through Colombia you could imagine. The bungalow itself was clean, spacious and elegant (though it's in the jungle, you will meet a few new friends from the insect world), the beach is...
