A welcoming and professional check was the start of a very good experience for us. We stayed here tow nights and the room was great. Very comfortable and quiet and also a great location where we could walk to all pubs and restaurants in town. Would stay here again.
Cobb & Co Court Boutique Hotel states it offers "luxury accommodation" with "beautifully appointed queen rooms". The gallery photos of the queen rooms show double sink bathrooms and a spacious 'Superior Queen' room. We booked a ‘Superior Queen' room after extensively viewing the website. We were looking forward to a relaxing stay in a 'luxury' boutique hotel in Mudgee. We were so disappointed with the reality of what we ended up with. A dark, dim, dull colored room with a small single sink bathroom. The bed was like a very soft foam that sank in the middle when sleeping. The room was over the courtyard and looked over the opposite balcony so you couldn't open the curtains, for natural light, with any privacy. I contacted the office with these issues on our first day. I had to refer to their website as to what made us book there and the office manager agreed that we did not get the room that’s in the photo. There are 2 superior queen rooms and we didn't get the one in the photo on their website. There was no explanation for not having a double sink bathroom as shown on the website, in the Gallery, for Queen rooms.. The owner Ian did call me the next day at 10.50am and asked if we would like to leave, we could, and wouldn't have to pay for that night. Only pay for the night we had stayed. As I stated to him it was too late to rebook anywhere for that night, we were on holidays and we would leave early the next day. He offered to reduce the price to the queen room price for the night with $15 discount. All we had wanted and looked forward to was what they advertise "luxury accommodation". What we were given for our stay was definitely not luxury. Very disappointed!…
When you pay good money for a hotel room overseas and you generally get what you pay for. For many places in Australia though, what you see on the web site, is not what you get. With trust and in good faith, you sign up for what appears to be a fantastic room only to receive the "unrenovated version", and to be told upon complaining to the manager that our room looks nothing like the room on their website, we were told the photos are of the "other "superior queen room. This was a direct admission that they knew what they were doing. Our version was dark and dingy with no windows or natural light, the bed was horribly soft and ready to be thrown out, there is a single vanity instead of the double advertised in the photos on their website. There is no room for the toilet, which is crammed in behind the bathroom door and the vanity basin. Expecting a luxurious beautifully appointed queen room as advertised, we got a room that was in desperate need of a make over in order to remotely live up to what they are advertising. We immediately brought our dissatisfaction to the attention of the front desk by email and received a reply saying the manager Ian would get back to us. Ian did call and attempted some service recovery, but the damage had been done. Trust is everything to us and you did not live up to your promise. We can cope if we know the truth. Stay away from room 11 until they full fill their promise and renovate the room…
This is a lovely heritage boutique hotel in central Mudgee. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. Sometimes older establishments can have a mish mash of furniture and look very dowdy, but not this place. Everything matches, it looks freshly painted with beautifully detailed ceilings, and architraves and the heritage features are lovely with French doors out to the veranda. There is plenty of space to unpack for a longer stay, the bathroom is fresh and clean with everything you could want (including washing machine and dryer). The one small downside (perhaps upside for some) is the rooms are arranged around a courtyard restaurant which is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, and can get a bit noisy in the evening. However this was not intrusive late at night. A room towards the front of the premises would negate this as well. Check in was easy and welcoming.…
Very happy - clean, comfortable and quiet. Easy to deal with and professional. Centrally located. Parking was on street but it was not an issue for an overnight stay. A number of restaurants close by. Homemade biscuits were a nice treat - would return
The hotel had a great location, easy walking to all the pubs, restaurants and brewery! The room was a little small once we unpacked our bags! Cade restaurant was not open when we got here, and the place on a Sunday was quiet, but COVID does that! We did really enjoy our stay here in Mudgee!
We were lucky enough to be in the 2br unit on the first floor which overlooked the Main Street. This place has been lovingly decorated and restored. It was immaculate with huge bedrooms and main living area . Bathroom was great, double shower and a bonus to have laundary facilities too. Snacks in the kitchen were local and handmade and a great touch. The service was very good. The morning of checkin we received wifi password and instructions on where to park. Simple things however added to the positive experience. It is very well located and a walk to all the good pubs and restaurants. Can’t wait to go back soon…
This old coaching inn has rooms around a courtyard with excellent independent restaurant at one end, We had a ground floor room with access to courtyard . It was a well equipped but not very spacious bedroom with a ver large bathroom with spa bath and double shower. This would be good in summer but the bathroom. was very cold with no heating, no heated ceiling light, no heated towel rail. Reception was quick and efficient and the location is good being at the end of a row of small shops, parking was on the side street and we had no difficulty parking on a weekday. As there is outdoor restaurant seating in the courtyard I would imagine it could be noisy to rooms around it when busy and warm enough to be outdoors.
Extremely comfortable and a very unique venue. Fabulous Restaurant set below the rooms but plenty more around the town also. Friendly helpful staff. My new venue of choice in Mudgee when traveling for business.
As a frequent reviewer you will see I do not make it a habit to give 1 star only - this hotel deserves it. Whilst the room itself here was comfortable and very clean the disappointment is in the service when something is brought to the attention of the manager. Our spa did not work on the first of 2 nights there. A staff member was tasked to look into this problem and we were told by this staff member that the motor must be blown and that it is the second one within a short space of time. No consideration was given to compensating for this given we had paid for a Queen room with spa. Then to make the stay even more unpleasant, my wife sustained an injury on the unlit stairway despite being careful. Early hours of the morning leaving for a hot air balloon ride and when asked about the stairs not having lighting it was again not of priority and did not hear the concerns of safety within this establishment of ourselves or others. Whilst we will definitely be visiting Mudgee again we will be organising to stay elsewhere. Very unsatisfed. Incidently we have a friend that stayed last year that also had an issue with the stairs.…
