A 'country' holiday 'in town'. Getaway cottage offers expansive views of the Mudgee Valley, manicured lawns flow from your back door, meandering through acres of flower and vegetable gardens, down to the banks of the Cudgegong River. One king, 2 queen, and a twin, sleeps 8 comfortably. There are 2 bathrooms (one disable), one with full length bath, and a 3rd toilet at the end of the hall. A large comfortable lounge room with TV, etc. and dining table seats up to 8. From the kitchen and dining areas are lovely views over the property and from the back door you step onto an all weather BBQ area with plenty of outdoor furniture. Farm animals come to greet you and say hello, resident native birds also offer their welcoming calls. The cottage is self-care, exclusively yours and with everything provided all you need to bring are your personal items. The bonus! Mudgee's CBD, excellent restaurants and great Historic pubs are but a short walk from your cottage.

Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted so we and our friends decided to enjoy 3 nights away in Mudgee. We chose to stay at Elington Manor as it has 6 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. It was perfect for us, so much space to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Breakfast supplies are provided and we had more than enough. Plenty of eggs, bacon, cereal, bread, milk and juice, tea and coffee. We could also pick fresh spinach and herbs from the garden.
Elington Manor and the other cottages are on a lovely property, with gardens stretching down to the river. You are free to walk around and look at the resident chickens, rabbits, donkey, Shetland ponies, camel and Olivia the Ostrich. Some of the rabbits and guinea pigs can be taken out of their hutches to be petted. Olivia layed an egg which we were very privileged to have for breakfast.
Mudgee’s Getaway Cottages have mini buses and staff you can hire to take you wine tasting which we did, a very enjoyable experience.
All in all our stay was so fabulous that my husband and I decided to stay an extra night.

Mudgee’s Getaway Cottages exceeded all of our hopes. We stayed with friends in their Elington Manor house which has six large and beautiful bedrooms with ensuites. It was very clean and well stocked. The owner Elizabeth is charming and helpful, and making the booking and communications with her were easy and prompt. The location along the river in Mudgee is lovely and the extensive gardens are a great bonus, especially with the varied and exotic pets including an ostrich and camel. The golfing section kept many of our group enjoyably occupied. Being in walking distance to town helped with shopping and a trip to the Mudgee Brewery for a fun evening of dinner and trivia. We highly recommend a visit to Mudgee and a stay at Mudgee’s Getaway Cottages.

From the first contact the team was pleasant and helpful. I specifically asked for a COVID lockdown guarantee which I was given. We were provided an upgrade to the Garden Cottage which was a delight with 2 very comfy king bed rooms and 2 bathrooms. The living area was small but as there was only 2 of us it was perfect. Lovely outlook over the gardens from the deck. Everything you could need was provided including a daily call to see if anything else was required and all was well.
We took advantage of the Orchy juice deal and the free pick from the vege garden. In exchange the animals got almost 3 bags of carrots over the 4 days we were there.
Thankyou Elizabeth and Kirsty for your wonderful hospitality - you can be very proud of how this establishment is run.

A group of 12 good friends spent a most enjoyable few days in Ellington Manor in Mudgee Getaway Cottages in a magnificent old renovated house, just superb! Everything you could possibly want in a holiday home is catered for, ensuite bedrooms, large dining table, fabulous kitchen, swimming pool, and beautiful gardens.

Breakfast for all of us was provided, even an ostrich egg! Owner Elizabeth gave us a short history of the Cottages and the animal farm, a very interesting lady.

The Manor is an adult only accommodation, but there are several other Cottages to choose from, all located just a 5-7 minute walk from town. I can certainly recommend Ellington Manor.

An annual event for a retirement village group over many years. Without doubt the most wonderful place. Each house we have stayed at (depending on the number of us going) has been spotless, everything provided is top quality and the owner, Elizabeth, a complete delight and kindness personified.

We were booked into the Orchard Cottage, 5 adults for a family function. Great cottage & the timber deck overlooking the grounds was wonderful, we were lucky enough to be able to use it most of the time. Elizabeth was wonderful very helpful, we loved walking around the grounds checking out the animals & the vegetables garden. We actually picked some silverbeet to have with our dinner on the Sunday evening. So relaxing & within walking distance to the main streets.

The whole place is a great concept. The animals appear to be happy and well-cared for. My only issue was the rabbits and guinea pigs. Although the cages were clean, litter used and had plenty of food and water, they were way too small and over crowded. And they were breeding. Not acceptable for animal happiness. Two adult rats in a tiny glass tank is very unacceptable. Upgrading the small animal housing and separating males and females really does need to be a priority as I'm sure I wouldn't be the only visitor who would find this distressing. Apart from this, it is a lovely spot with plenty of space. The cottages are clean and comfortable but quite dated so if you are expecting luxury, you will be disappointed. If you like rustic and you need kid friendly accommodation with toys and games supplied inside and out, then this is the place for you. TV and wifi are available. Gettaway cottage had a very modern wheelchair friendly shower room. Nice outdoor spaces for BBQing and relaxing. Expansive veggie gardens are help yourself. Breakfast food is supplied. A short walk to town.

A unique beautiful group of 6 cottages located on the river minutes walk from the centre of Mudgee. The property is on acres of manicured gardens with its own menagerie of farm animals. We stayed in The 6 bedroom Ellington Manor which was perfect for our group of 5 couples. Thoroughly recommend.

The cottage slept 8 people comfortably in a beautifully decorated environment. There is also a beautiful outdoor garden area with animals for children to enjoy...rabbits, camel, an ostrich and a very talkative macaw. I can't wait to go back!
