Detailed Reviews
Our room was small, clean and cheap.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows not so much. A bit like sleeping on 20kg bags of cement. The shower in room 1 had poor water pressure and the shower head could be replaced for under $25 at Bunnings
Great central location, close to lots of restaurants.

Having booked at short notice, we found there were not many options for a one-night stay at Mudgee at a price we were prepared to pay, so we elected the Central Motel and were pleasantly surprised. For an outlay of $90 for the one night, our expectations were not high, but we soon appreciated the good value offered. Yes, the room was small but everything we needed and wanted was there. The room lighting was great, and the all-white walls & ceiling accentuated the good light we value for reading at night. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Pillows were a bit firm but we soon adjusted. Traffic noise could be a problem in adverse circumstances but did not trouble us unduly. The shower was good and, overall, we appreciated our stay in a location close to restaurants. We met the owner, who was friendly & accommodating. Would stay there again if in Mudgee.

This motel is literally in the center of town with off street parking. I had booked the downstairs apartment for the 4 of us. Expecting 3 bedrooms it actually has 4!!! with a small kitchen/dining/lounge area, bathroom with shower AND a laundry room with another toilet and shower. As others have said it's basic but VERY clean and tidy. The office window says it's a 2 star but with a little bit of attention it could easily be more.
We'd definitely stay again should we get back to Mudgee.

The room was very noisy - it was right over a Main Street near a roundabout so the road noise from hoon’s revering their engines accelerating from the roundabout was constant plus the walls between the rooms were paper thin so other guests moving about added to the noise. The sash windows didn’t work in the bathroom so had to prop them open to air the bathroom as it had no fan. We booked 2 nights, Friday and Saturday nights but after enduring Friday night noise we decided to cut our visit to Mudgee short and traveled home.
We asked for a quiet room on booking and we got the opposite. 👎
We abandoned our 2nd prepaid night and would never stay there again. 😡

Had booked for three nights to explore Mudgee wineries and surrounds... booked based on good reviews. Room is clean- hence the one star rating but that is it. The room is basic- just a bed and a spare. No chairs, nowhere to put your bag except on bed. From dawn, the floor boards upstairs creak loudly and creaks continued one night till midnight. Wanted to leave next morning but seeing we paid upfront no refund was possible. This is not even budget price as we paid about $170 / night.
Have no idea how this place is even allowed to operate and no idea as to who gave it glowing reviews. There are much better value places in better locations.

Recently renovated with impeccable finishes. Neat and tidy. We had a brand new kitchen with granite bench top electric stoves. We did some light cooking to save money.
Staff provided extra plates and cups.
Stunning location walk to everything town has on offer.
Staff on premises 24x7 , fully automated electronic door locks.

Inexpensive or Cheap?
Inexpensive?
Seems relatively low price, in middle of town.
Cheap…? (Not high expectations)
Very small room, paper thin walls, creaky boards in hall
Only soap in bathroom
Fridge leaked
Industrial stairs to upstairs - one handrail.
Very limited parking ( street is easier)
No room service for a two night stay. (that’s real poor)!!

The room I booked was a family unit for three adults and it is so basic- just a bed and a spare. I paid extra to have a kitchenette so we could make a simple breakfast but there wasn’t even a toaster! A three person room but only two cups. Filthy floors, stained doonas, no water pressure over either sink. From dawn, the floor boards upstairs creak loudly and we had the room next to the office and could hear every word spoken. This is not even budget price as we paid $250 / night.

Fully renovated to high standards. Exceptionally friendly staff who come to your help on 24x7 basis. Spotlessly clean rooms, very comfortable beds and central location walking distance to everything.
We partied on the external deck and the staff assisted with extra furniture and crockery.

Amazing and comfortable rooms Spotless and clean. WE were pleased to see 24x7 guest support which not many motels offer.
Shaki and Bill were brilliant and warm at the same time. We will go to Mudgee again and stay at central motel Mudgee.
The place is just been renovated. The bathrooms were brand spanking new. The Place is central to everything that the town has to offer, walking distance to Club Mudgee, Supermarkets and cafes
