Stayed for 4 nights on a powered site. The grounds were clean and tidy and there were improvements being made to a number of sites during our stay. There was a group of bike riders holding some sort of charity event. Whilst I appreciate this may have been a great cause the group was allowed to fully take over the camp kitchen with trailers etc. this resulted in the area not being usable by others. Some of the group were very noisy late into the night which tends to ruin the experience for others. One improvement I would recommend is installing grey water points to the sites. For some reason the site next door and then 2 sites up. To far to reach with the average equipment. All sites are reasonably close to amenities. Amenities however are in desperate need of upgrade and are barely acceptable at $40/night. They are old. miss matched tap ware, mouldy painted cubicles and water pressure that barely gets a dribble. Seriously, one shower only allowed a dribble of water. The next was better but very little water flow. The pick was the first one. The only one with a water saver head. The park location is ok but set in a semi industrial area and a drive only to town. In saying all the above the staff were great and the park has potential. Would I stay again? Yes.....after checking other parks in the area first.

What a delight it was to step into our cabin. It was clean, smelt fresh and the little extras like a hand towel in the bathroom, 2 bath towels each, complimentary toiletries and real milk in the fridge were very much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable too! On arrival at the park, we received a warm welcome and given information on where to eat on a Sunday night. Had we wanted to stay in and cook, the cabin was well equipped for that too. When leaving we were asked if we had enjoyed our stay. Park is quiet, well kept. We will definitely be back!

The park itself is fine. There are the usual things including a camp kitchen and pool . We had an en-suite site as we enjoy private facilities. BUT for $67.50 per night you don’t expect to have to hand direct the water down the drain after your shower. You also expect to have an efficient recycling system not just leave it near the bin. All in all disappointing.

We choose the caravan park as it is a Big 4 thinking that they had certain standards.

Our tent site was in the full sun and opposite the cabins. No shade and lots of noise. The actual area for the tents and caravans is quite large just a shame about the cleanliness, a few more trees need to be planted.

In the cabins it appeared to be workers using them as during the week accommodation to get to work. The issue is they are very noisy leaving in the early hours of the morning. On the weekend it appeared that the cabins were rented out to families and therefore the noise was there but different. Car alarms and people talking very early in the morning is annoying.

The park it self is very run down and is in need of some attention.

Where to start, the amenities block was dreadful, mould and bugs everywhere, if you look up to the ceiling there are so many spider webs and filth, this really needs a really good clean.

The kitchen area is also not the best, yes, it had what you required but the sinks are so deep you get a sore back washing up and then the waste of water. This whole area needs a revamp.

The pool area was Ok however when we visited there was a large family gathering staying in some cabins and they did not have any adult supervision in the pool. On one particular day the COVID safety numbers went over so many of us older people left the pool because it was very noisy and too many people . I understand that it is the responsibility of the family to have been watching the kids in the pool but to exceed the COVID safety is the park responsibility. By us all leaving meant that should someone have reported the park the numbers were below. The other issue with the pool area was that they are in the process of upgrading the children play area which is great, but to get to the pool you had to walk through sand on the footpath which is then walked into the pool area and into the pool. Sweeping the sand off the walkway would only take a few minutes and I am sure assist in keeping the pool and surrounds much cleaner.

The location of the park is out of town so you do need a car to get anywhere.

Hi Carol Thanks for your review sorry that we did not meet your expectations. As you state we are in the process of doing some upgrades and this has impacted on the area. We do have signage up limiting numbers due to Covid-19 and we have to rely on people following these guidelines, luckily most people are responsible and it has only been a number of times that I have had to remind guests. Yes we have workers through the week as they need accommodation as well as they are coming from outside the area. If you were unhappy with your site we would have been more than happy to move you if you had come and seen us at reception if another site had been available Hopefully next time you come through you will see the improvements, however this will also probably mean we will be busier

Very disappointed with the cabin we stayed in advertised as "quality accommodation at a reasonable price". The cabin was not only dirty but smelled of cigarette smoke. Fan in the bedroom made a loud horrible noise and therefore could not be used at night. Air Conditioner in main living area the same, so again could not be used to cool down the place whilst (trying) to sleep. Nothing about the cabin was "modern". Very dated, chair upholstery needing mending, curtains were stinky and unwashed (probably since they were first hung). Every time I went to the reception area the person was on the phone (forever). Communal BBQ area was nice but unclean. I do not think staff cleaned the area at all during our stay there. On checkout the manager apologised for the smoke smell admitting that some workers had stayed in the cabin earlier and they had smoked inside. Unfortunately he did not relate this information to us earlier and give us a chance of being moved to a different cabin. The price of the accommodation was not reflective of the low grade of facilities. I expected more for my money. Coming out of Covid restrictions places like this need to pick up their game or else people will not come back. Customer service needs to be at the forefront of the priorities of hospitality venues to keep trade ongoing and increasing.

Our family of five stayed in cabin 10 for a few days before Easter. The cabin was spotless clean and the main bed was so comfy. The towels were great too and it was awesome to have a few extras like milk in the fridge. The kids loved the jumping pillow and the pool (even though it was cold they still got in). The location is a bit out of Mudgee, but we used a courtesy bus from a local pub one night to go to dinner. The kitchen in the cabin was well stocked, but we were lazy and didn't cook. All the staff were friendly and we felt really welcome. The campground definitely exceeded our expectations and Mudgee is a great family holiday.

Recently we stayed at the Big 4 Mudgee. We appreciated the fact that although online it specifically stated that I would have to book for two nights, this was not possible and they agreed to allow us to stay one night in a two bedroom cabin. We had been camping in national parks and had been chased out by the flooding threat from heavy rainfall. I booked two cabins for our group.
The cabins were clean and well appointed apart from the fact that the bedrooms were small with little room to move around the bed and the mattress meant we were continually rolling to the middle.

The really disappointing part was the fact that we were charged an additional $30 for each cabin as a surcharge for a one night stay. It was mid week and not in school holidays. In our line of about 10 cabins only 50% were occupied that night. I think it was to the Holiday Park’s advantage that we stayed that night as those cabins would have been unoccupied. I am sure other travellers would have been put off believing that you would only take 2 night bookings.

In the future I will probably reconsider booking with Big 4 because of this incident.

We were a part of 10 , 6 adults and 4 children on a family holiday and had three cabins 1 x 1 bed & 2 x 2 bed cabins . We were placed next to one another which was great for the grandchildren to" pop''in and visit us. I loved our one bed room very roomy , had a fully equipped kitchen , dinning table , lounge / sofa bed . Great walk in robe room which stored our suitcases etc. lovely ensuite that supplied all necessary items . Loved sitting on the balcony / deck having coffee or wine. The two bed which our daughters and family had didn't have the extra storage / robe as that area and some from the lounge was used to make that extra bedroom. They, having small children would have probably have next time chosen the one bed and used the sofa , that way they would have had more family / playing room. The pool area was great could see kids from our cabins if needed . Also had jumping pillow and basket ball ring which my older grandson enjoyed . There was also a games room .
We used the local shuttle bus that was provided free from one of the hotels that took us into town for dinner which was great .Staff were fantastic and most helpful.
We were so lucky to have perfect weather so the kids did use the pool a lot.
A great park only a couple km from the town and would definitely stay again.
Thankyou

As a large family group over 4 generations, we booked both cabins and caravan sites. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My 90 year old mother was very comfortable in her cabin and I was impressed with the van sites. I travelled the whole country in our van and these sites were ample in size and little things like clothes lines and bins near all sites made a big difference to practical comfort. We will be back.

Unfortunately the park seems to be let run down.
Not much cleaning of amenities considering Covid restrictions. Toilet paper and hand towels replaced daily but not washed out like most I've been to. Communal facilities not well looked after either.
Was told the cabins needed a good clean too. Some ok til bed moved to plug in phone charger. Very dirty behind bed. Soiled linen and exhaust fans clogged. Shame. I did enjoy my time there. No grey water outlet for all sites.

Hi lozscott71 I am sorry to have missed your question earlier, im not sure on public transport as we had our own car, im sure there would be a . bus stop a short distance down the road which is a main road that can take you back into Mudgee, the walk from the Park back into Mudgee would be a big walk
