Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have never stayed in a B&B before and and were not sure what to expect, however it was the highlight of our weekend away. The property has a fantastic country garden you can wonder around and sit for a quite drink. The historic house has all the old world charm you would expect but with some modern additions such as air conditioning. The wrap around balcony is great to relax on even in a cold day. There are just three rooms to rent and are all set out out with charm you would expect ( we had the red room) and all have ensuites. The little touches in your room such as flowers from the garden and a warm rob and slippers. The guest lounge room has some nice treats available anytime including cakes, tea and coffee and a glass of port or sherry or two with newspapers daily. Breakfast provided at 8:30 daily and well !!! Fantastic is an understatement with a grand table setting and your first course il ring a home made smoothie with mixed fruit of the day put together in a way that’s delightful and finishing with a hot breakfast including eggs anyway you want. Property is located just a few minutes walk to town and pubs and the main Street. Let also not forget our hosts and owners of the property Robbie and Errol, delightfully, accomodating, happy to chat and made our time special. …. Thank You, we will be back !!

Property's Favourite Review
Forgandenny is a beautiful historic house and gardens dating back to the end of the colonial period. We were here for 4 nights in summer. It was the perfect base to explore the town of Mudgee and its region. Our room had a very comfortable bed plus ensuite and all the other features you'd expect. There was a wide variety of breakfast options to suit all tastes. It was a pleasure to relax in one of the lounge areas in the late afternoon or after dinner in one of local restaurants (all within easy walking distance) and enjoy the drinks and sweet treats provided for guests. Thanks to Errol and Robbie for hosting us, and for all their helpful advice about the Mudgee region. Highly recommended.

Response from Errol Holdaway, General Manager at Forgandenny House Bed and Breakfast
Responded 9 Jan 2023
Thank you Stephen for your glowing assessment of your stay with us recently. It is always pleasing to hear, that you have enjoyed your visit to the Mudgee Region, exploring the historic towns, and having Wine tastings personally delivered by the wine maker himself. It was our pleasure to host you both during your stay, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Forgandenny House B&B Mudgee, very soon. Warm regards, Errol & Robbie

A big thank you to Errol and Robbie for again, another amazing stay. Our second visit to Forgandenny B&B and it's our favourite place to stay. From the wonderful homemade breakfast, to the lovely gardens and close walking distance to town, Forgandenny is the most wonderful retreat from home. Errol and Robbie are so welcoming and caring, and made our stay so lovely. Forgandenny B&B is the place to stay in Mudgee!

I do love the "Antique French decor" with vintage style. So that’s the reason I chose this Forgandenny Bed & Breakfast. The owner of Robbie & Errol with the warm, friendly hospitality and their beautiful property are more highly! Me, hubby and our friends-the other couple had a wonderfully stay. The amazing 2course breakfasts in the beautiful sunny communal lounge and dining room complete with warm fire, sweet treats, port, tea and coffee. Also afternoon tea are available and we feels so spoiled

We could not recommend the warm, friendly hospitality of our hosts, and their beautiful property, more highly! Hubby and I had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend away recently, staying with Robbie and Errol at Fogandenny House in Mudgee. Not sure what we enjoyed the most, the amazing 3 course breakfasts whilst chatting away to fellow guests around the big table swapping winery tips, the house, room and gardens, the sunny communal lounge complete with warm fire, sweet treats, port, tea and coffee, the close proximity to town or the authenticity of mudgee, it's people and surrounds. Fogendenny House was great value given all the little extras, Robbie had thought of everything! Oh and the winery's weren't bad either... Loved the Gulgong Henry Lawson Festival Parade, what a bonus! Thank you Robbie and Errol, we'd love to come back, you made us feel right at home!

Robbie and Errol looked after us incredibly. We came to Mudgee for some long weekend wine tasting and Fogenderry was the perfect place for us to base ourselves out of. The house, hospitality and the breakfasts are exactly what you need from a country town stay. Highly recommended!

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at Forgandenny in November 2021. The hosts, Robbie and Errol could not have provided a better home for our visit. The house was build in 1901 and is beautifully appointed, spacious and very comfortable. The garden is outstanding and is clearly a source of pride for everyone concerned. The three bedrooms and all excellent...Four Poster beds and ensuite. We highly recommend Forgandenny as a location to visit the region.

We stayed here with some friends for 2 nights recently & it was very special. From the location, rooms, beds, fireplace, snacks, tea, coffee etc everything was 10/10. The highlight was the spectacular hot & cold multi course breakfast! Everything has been carefully thought out by the lovely hosts, Errol & Robbie. When you stay here you want for nothing. I would definitely recommend Forgandenny House & I would stay here again.

Just had a weekend there; it is a beautiful venue. Old world, stunning rooms and garden. And service that was fantastic. The breakfast was five star. The nice thing is that every little luxury is thought of. And to top if off, so reasonable in price.

Where to start??? Forgandenny is a magnificent, spacious home with a fascinating history. It has been renewed and maintained to perfection by a couple with direct family links to the original owners. Every room is beautifully restored and furnished and there are so many artefacts and items of interest that you may never want to go outside! (Especially if, like our visit, you have cold weather. All of Forgandenny is beautifully warmed and comfortable.) The gardens are a delight, the location across from Lawson Park and two minutes walk to the town centre is ideal and tennis buffs can bring racquets and have a hit on the full size court. BUT, the absolute standout is the breakfast. The effort hosts Robbie and Errol go to, coupled with their deep hospitality experience ensures you will need only a light lunch, if anything. They are creative, inspired cooks and fabulous hosts who do all that’s needed to make your stay luxurious, relaxing and highly memorable.
