Detailed Reviews
We stayed 3 nights and arrived on a wet winters afternoon. We opened the door to our cottage and the fire was lit, the room beautifully warm and music was softly playing in the background. Peppertree Hill’s preparation for your arrival is such a welcoming way to enter your accommodation.
The cottage is spacious with big lounges and the cosy fireplace. We had no trouble lighting the fire each night and keeping it going till breakfast and never needed to request more firewood.
We found the beds and pillows super comfortable with lovely linen and also spacious enough for your bags and personal items. The kimonos (instead of hotel dressing gowns) were a lovely idea!
We choose Peppertree Hill as the cottages are self contained and this allowed us to breakfast without rushing before exploring Mudgee and then return to relax in the evenings with dinner by the fire. The kitchen is well appointed although there is no oven. Coffee in the sun on the front verandah was a lovely way to start our days.
The bathroom is a little small but the water pressure is great and the towels are lovely and soft. The toilet is separate.
The views over the paddocks and dam are pretty and the 2x communal firepits are another fantastic idea, although as it’s Covid we kept to social distancing.
Each cottage along the top row had a carport which was great when there were early morning frosts and also if it rained when you are unpacking or packing your car.
Their location is easy to find and an easy drive when exploring the region.

The perfect little place for a weekend away. We stayed at the Newport cottage which was so cute and accurately matched the photos. Extremely clean and great decor. The views from deck are astounding and so peaceful. Lots of little touches provided (e.g robes, make-up remover wipes, dark and light towels, firewood, blankets, and hand sanitiser). The air conditioner did wonders for heating up the whole cottage despite being so cold outside. Unlimited wifi provided which allowed us to successfully stream Netflix. Also has a double carport for each cottage which was very convenient. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

Finding the perfect getaway cabin is almost our ideal hobby. Peppertree Hill comes so close to perfection. They have thought of just about everything to ensure an amazing stay and we cannot wait to return. Even spare batteries for the tv remote! Gorgeous house coats, makeup wipes, snacks and a bowl of lollies. Foil and cling wrap. I could go on. They left a feedback note and I almost felt guilty suggesting just the most minor tips, but only to assist in completing the amazing experience. To be helpful to other guests I will provide an overview of facilities. No oven, but a BBQ is provided (hopefully soon to be upgraded to a hooded type), micro, hot plates and small fridge. Electric frypan and pots. Oil, pepper and salt. Plenty of teas incl T2 and a Nespresso Machine with milk frother ( you may want to take your favourite style). Cheese board and knives. 1ltr Milk provided. Beer and wines avail to purchase, a lovely bottle provided comp. plenty of quality hand soaps, toiletries and lovely linen. You may want to take some plastic containers and serving dishes/salad bowl.
No vineyards within walking distance, but plenty in the area. We had no problem getting in for tastings mid week, but you should book ahead during Covid time on weekends and do book any lunches and dinners. The local info office was fabulous in providing up to date opening times and also update info online.
Put Mudgee on your road trip itinerary and def. look at staying at Peppertree Hill, just beautiful.

We love constructive feedback and it is all gathered and collated as we take each guests's comments very seriously. Extremely clean and cozy cottage.
The bed was super comfy and the kitchen was functional for a short stay.
They pay attention to all details to make you feel welcomed, from a note at the front the door, when you check in, to complimentary snacks and firewood ready to go.
The staff went out of their way to check if the TV in the room had HDMI connection, so we could buy the right cable to plug our phones and watch Netflix, before arriving in Mudgee. They even texted me, while we were on our way!
We had a bit of trouble to regulate the water temperature in the shower, but nothing major.
The property is nice and gives you the feeling of staying in a farm (because you are actually staying in a farm, I guess). Despite of all cabins being occupied, we felt like there was enough space for everyone and we spent quiet and relaxing days. I would consider returning to this place, next time we visit Mudgee.

We stayed in the Hilltop Cottage, which was cute, cozy, and had rustic but modern decor. You are free to roam the farm, which we took advantage of to watch the magnificent sunrises and sunsets, The property is peaceful and serene, and we fell in love with the numerous cows and calfs that would say hello every time we went for a walk.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a local bottle of complementary vino to enjoy, which, mind you, was a delicious drop.
Peppertree Hill is in a charming location, with beautiful, quaint surrounding towns and many natural wonders to explore, Let's not forget about the copious amounts of wineries that you can visit.
We would definitely recommend this picturesque farm-stay and will certainly be back.

We definitely relaxed, enjoyed and unwound!! Great work team, I can’t fault you and highly recommend a stay at any of the accommodations you provide.
Usually we stay at Perry St when visiting beautiful Mudgee (another 5star property from the Peppertree Hill Group) but with COVID we felt we needed some good old country air, space, a cosy fire and a some good Mudgee food and wine. It was well worth the 6 week wait for an available spot and you didn’t disappoint.
Avalon was just perfect, from the time we stepped out of the cold rain and into the already warm cottage, the wood fire was ready to light and the Logan’s bubbles were chilled!
Hopping into a bed of quality linen and getting up to the peace and serenity, just the sound of the birds & cows and view...oh the view! This is what it was all about.
Simplicity, style and quality in everything that is provided at the cottage, thought and detail at its finest.
So thank you to everyone at the Peppertree Hill Group, in these challenging times. 100% we will be back.

I almost don’t want to review this place as it is already busy! We stayed in the cosy Newport cottage for 2 but all of the various accommodation types look amazing.
The location is fabulous - in the country but still close to the wineries and restaurants and not too far from town. The property is picture perfect and the cabins located to maximise the view. Our cottage had everything you could think of - there is a kitchen and a bar b q but we only cooked breakfast and partook of the many wonderful restaurants ( can recommend Zin House ) .
There was reverse cycle aircon also also a wood fireplace which was very romantic.
A truly wonderful experience.

We stayed 3 nights in the Gumtree Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and located away from the majority of cottages on the property. It was well laid out with all requirements you could ask for along with a great log fire. It is self check in. It is a great location to to either visit the numerous Mudgee vineyards, the township of Gulgong etc. It was a great stay. and would fully recommend a visit.

What an amazingly cozy, clean and beautiful place! The scenery around the cottages is perfection.
I’ll start by saying that everything you could possibly want is there for you: a fire place to heater, fantales and right through to your robe.
Staying with my partner in ‘Newport’ cottage, there was coffee, tea, milk, oil, salt and every cooking utensil!
The cleanliness of the place along with the view was spectacular. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
The wineries are about 9 minutes drive, very convenient.

We stayed in the one bedroom “Palmy” cottage. The room has a real charming modern country cottage feel - loved the log fire place! The cottage is quality accommodation, although pretty close to your neighbours, so privacy is limited. Perfect if you were staying with family/friends next door.
We understood that wifi wasn’t available, however our mobile reception was very flaky making it impossible to hotspot. The TV was also very small - some would say that a small TV and not internet access is bliss!
You know you are in the country when you hear cows mooing from your room. Nice!

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us in Palmy Cottage. We are glad you enjoyed your experience. We are in the process of getting wifi on the property. Not an easy task as we want the service to be great (as any guest would expect) and geographic issues can be limiting. We are very excited for this development for our guests.
