We arrived at the train station from Madrid on Saturday. There was a taxi waiting outside but we did not want to use it. So we were waiting for the bus (almost one hour). The bus dropped us close to the Hostel. A lady welcomed us at the reception (she did not speak English). We got a room (surprisingly spacious)...

This place is cheap and ina nice location close to the old town. But the bed is too soft so we have backaches now. The employees don't speak any language apart from Spanish...but the rooms are air conditioned and most of them have a little lodge.

Found this hotel very easily & parked on a meter near by to unload. Arrived to a very nice lady on reception, English not great but very friendly & helpful. Hotel very quirky with creaking wooden floors & an unusual lay out. Ideal location for the old Town for either the 10 min walk or a bus from across the...

I am just going into my fifth and final night here and have loved being in this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, with lovely wooden floors (which squeak a lot as you walk on them -- so I've felt lucky being on a floor with no one walking around above me), There's an elevator to get you to...

Our stay at Hostal Canovas was quite the mistake. In planning our trip to Cuenca I was a bit confused as to where the old city was in relation to the old city and to the bus stop, which is in a more modern, and slightly seedy part of town. Anyways, long story short, by the time we came across...

A long, although scenic, day of travel from Madrid via bus left us in the lower part of Cuenca. The area by the bus station and regional rail station proved empty and rather unsettling to be in. As we walked from one pre-marked hostal to another, ruling each out because of the area they were in and/or the run down...

Stayed here one night in early October as had to get the train on a Sunday morning and this is within walking distance. Very pleasant friendly staff on reception and had a lovely room with comfortable beds and nice view out the window. Would stay here again and would recommend it too.

I chose this place because of the price at first but when I arrived I was actually impressed. It is cute, well located and the staff are really friendly. They sent me directions by email etc. My room was a double, not a twin, as I wanted a double bed. The shower was huge and my room had plenty of...

I and my wife stayed at this charming old-fashioned hostal during the Semana de Música Religiosa de Cuenca for nine days from the last days of March to the beginning of April 2010. The hostel has an elevator. The room was beautiful and spacious, newly painted with natural pine floorboards, beautiful doors and very clean it was. The only snag...

“A room overlooking the street that leads to the old city may be quieter than rooms on the main street nearer to a few nightclubs. I'm a light sleeper and did not have any issues sleeping but maybe this is something to consider.”
