We were recommended the Posada by a friend who knows Cuenca well, and were delighted to find it more than lived up to expectations. It is a lovely old building, characterful and quirky, and cool in spite of the heat. Our room (33) had not one but two terraces, both with stunning views over the gorge. The bathroom was a...

It is very well located and the room was nice. The bed was uncomfy though and made my back ache. The restaurant is in a lovely spot but you may have trouble getting in of an evening. My one gripe is staff were not well informed. For example on the last day I asked to book a taxi to the...

We stayed in a suite for 4 people that it was just perfect for my family ( 2 young children). The bathroom was big enough for the family. Amazing views. It is located just 30 metres away from the cathedral. The staff at reception was specially nice, I do not remember her name but the lady that assisted us when...

Posada de San Jose is a real gem. The location is amazing - right in the heart of old Cuenca and all it has to offer. The rooms are beautifully adorned and the entire hotel speaks of artistic taste and attention to detail. And the food... best breakfasts ever! For English speakers, the waiter has good English skills and there...

The hotel is situated in a 17th century building which was originally the accommodation for the cathedral choir boys. As such it has the most delightful atmosphere. The location is some 100 metres from the cathedral in the middle of Cuenca. There is 24 hour parking about 100 metres away costing €15 with a hotel voucher. Room 21 had old...

My wife and I spent one night in this charming small hotel. The room was quite small, but very quaint and adequately appointed. It had a glorious view across the gorge. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent as was the service. Cuenca is a charming city and the old part well worth a visit.

I booked a Double Room with a mountain view excluding breakfast for 2 nights, using Booking.com We arrived at Cuenca Fernando Zobel train station, which is about 5kms out of town. Due to an hour wait for the bus, we used a taxi to get to the Posada. The bus and taxi rank is to the side of the railway...
