Reviews summary

The MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising its prime location near the beach, yet others point to the steep hill as a drawback. The rooms are often described as compact and lacking in both amenities and soundproofing, causing some dissatisfaction among travelers. Cleanliness varies with reports of well-kept areas contrasted by maintenance and hygiene complaints. The service quality is a common concern, with negative experiences of staff behavior and service speed. Additionally, the value and inclusivity of the all-inclusive package have been questioned, alongside the hotel's atmosphere, which strikes a balance between tranquil and underwhelming.

After arriving at 11am we were unable to check in until 2pm, we sat outside by the pool until going to the room.
The room was on the 5th floor, I must say the glass covered balcony made me a bit nervous. The room had a safe which you had to pay for, as well as an ironing service which you had to paid for, the room was clean with fresh towels each day and the shower was amazing, not keen on the 'shower gel' which had a medical smell. The one thing that was missing was a tea & coffee station.
As we were all inclusive the food to be fair was nice but not hot, there was one microwave if needed, at breakfast there were biscuits/cakes which were used again in the pool bar, some days the pool bar didn't open until 11am meaning you couldn't have a cup of tea/coffee earlier.
At lunch/dinner it was law to have 6 alcoholic drinks per person, the wine/beer was in a glass, if you took the glass outside to the pool area it was soon snatched and put in a plastic cup...bearing in mind this is an adults only hotel.
I went to get a coke before we left which was topped up in a cup that was left on the side by another person, I didn't think that was hygienic.
The pool was cold and was manned by a lifeguard who sat and had breakfast or spent time on his phone.
The roof top area was nice with good views, just offered a pool where you can dip your feet.
It was a shame that the pool/jacuzzi area at the front was not used.
There was no entertainment until the middle of the week, we tried to play Bingo and the man did call out the numbers in English, however we felt it was more in favor of Spanish guests.
The area is not very nice, the beach is 5 minutes down the road and is really lovely, as you had to pay for the ice cream at the hotel we went in town where it was cheaper.
I'm not sure where the 4 stars have come from, we wouldn't come back to this hotel even though the staff were pleasant, there are too many things that let it down.

Dear Louise, We would like to thank you for this review about your recent experience in our hotel. It's wonderful to hear that you found our staff pleasant and that the cleanliness of the rooms met your expectations, as we strive to maintain a sparkling environment for our guests. Our rooftop views are indeed a highlight, and I'm glad you enjoyed them! Regarding the wait for check-in, we always aim to have rooms ready by 2pm, but I understand how waiting can be a bit inconvenient. I'm also tickled pink that you mentioned our amazing showers – we think they're quite spiffy too! It seems there was a mix-up with the beverage service, as our all-inclusive package does include drinks from a dispenser with top brands, though I apologize if this wasn't clear. We also take food hygiene very seriously, and I assure you, dispensing drinks in reused cups is not our standard practice. Your feedback about the pool temperature and lifeguard's attention is valuable, and we'll certainly keep it in mind to ensure a more delightful experience. Lastly, while we hope our evening entertainment strikes a chord with everyone, it's a tricky tune to play, but we're always working on improving our repertoire. The entire team really hope we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Kindest regards, Your MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel Team

I went with IMSERSO in April 2024 with social tourism (Avoris)
Strong points: 4-star hotel with a magnificent location, 1 minute away you have buses 504 (25 minutes to the center), 508 (35 minutes that stops at the fan shopping center) and you can pay with a debit or credit card (don't forget to swipe it when getting off too) and go to the center of Palma or the Palma intermodal to take an excursion on your own: bus 204 to Soller and then 203 to Valldemosa (the most beautiful town in Mallorca). Another day the 302 to Alpudia with its towers and then go to the beach of Alpudia or Muro with more than 7 km of white sand beach and transparent waters (one of the most beautiful in Europe). Another day take bus 401 to Port Cristo, 20 minutes away are the Drack caves. You can also take bus 23 at the same stop (1 hour per stop in many places in the sandy area) but you must pay with money 2 euros and it costs more expensive than the previous ones, it is only useful to go to the aquarium or the crystal church
The hotel offers modern facilities, with two swimming pools and an open buffet with a wide variety of dishes, although it only includes water or wine, not beer or soft drinks, and with two meal shifts. Reception staff very attentive and sells 4 types of ensaimadas at a good price and quite good. Very professional kitchen and cleaning staff. The insulation of the windows from the outside is good. The pool lifeguard is always on alert and permanently monitoring. Without a doubt the staff of this hotel is its main asset. The sandy beach is very bad with a lot of algae except in the area closest to the port and the hotel and is 200 meters away but has a small steep slope. In the hotel area there are many supermarkets, bars and stores such as Mercadona (buy water as the tap water is highly chlorinated) and La Caixa, which are together 200 meters and two blocks from the hotel. .
The Turimos social workers do their job perfectly and offer excursions to the Crystal Church and the aquarium with a 40% discount on their official price; The rest of the excursions are a little expensive but if you are not going on your own, they are recommended because they go to the best places in Mallorca and include transportation, guide and lunch. Other excursions to Menorca or Ibiza are very expensive and get up early.

Weak points: Room somewhat narrow, the worst is the insulation of the interior walls of the rooms (you can hear everything from the other rooms) and the slamming of the doors of the rooms.
The worst: The assignment of rooms to foreigners along with the rooms for Spaniards is a serious hotel management error (They wake everyone up early when they arrive from their parties). In the buffet there are few meats and variety between the days of the week although there are many dishes to choose from.

First impressions were good, pleasant reception staff and clean facilities, the receptionist with short brown hair was exceptionally helpful when it came to answering any questions we had.
The room:
Mattress was incredibly rigid and uncomfortable.
The walls were so thin, if you’re a snorer just know the people 3 doors down will hear you.
We had to stock our own toilet roll throughout the stay from the trollies in the hall.
I will however comment on how good the shower was.
Location:
The hotel was based in a quieter part of the strip up a small hill. So avoid if you have trouble with mobility.
However only a small distance the the main part of the resort which was ideal. With transport links close by if you fancied a day trip out (would definitely recommend Palma)
Restaurant:
Needs work. Food for the most part was acceptable. But lacked in variety with both the amount of options and the daily changes. I did however enjoy the profiteroles on a daily basis.
I would ask that they also check their fruit a little more thoroughly as we came across a few plums that seemed to be going bad.
Pool:
Albeit we visited out of season, but the pool area lacked atmosphere and we found ourselves out and about more often than not because of this.
The roof terrace advertised with a pool was also closed throughout our duration which we weren’t made aware of whilst booking and the sauna was “out of order” throughout our stay.
AOB:
Resort is mainly German tourists and is quite a lively destination but do not let this put you off as myself and partner rather enjoyed the atmosphere (and steins), we also enjoyed a few nights in the hotel playing games over a few drinks. They have a pool table, hockey table and selection of games such as cards or dominoes available.
You do have to pay to use your room safe (3€ a day plus a 20€ deposit).
Pool towels can be rented with an additional 1€ charge per change, however all the local shops sell them at an affordable price if you find yourself needing one.

Would say this is more a 3 star hotel overall.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give your opinion about your stay. We're thrilled to hear that our reception staff and clean facilities made a great first impression, and that you found our location convenient for exploring the resort and nearby attractions. 🌴 However, we're sorry to hear about the issues you faced during your stay. We understand that the mattress wasn't to your liking, and we'll take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. As for the thin walls, our rooms are designed to be soundproof, but we'll look into this matter further. We apologize for any inconvenience regarding the toilet paper and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We're glad you enjoyed the shower, but we're sorry that our restaurant didn't quite meet your expectations. We do offer a wide variety of dishes, but we'll definitely take your feedback into account to improve our offerings. We apologize for the inconvenience with the fruit and will make sure to check it more thoroughly in the future. It's unfortunate that the pool area and rooftop terrace didn't provide the atmosphere you were looking for. We do have live music and entertainment at our bars, but we understand that it might not be for everyone. We hope you had a chance to enjoy some of our other amenities, like the games and activities available in the hotel. Lastly, we apologize for any confusion regarding the room safe and pool towel charges. We try to be transparent about these fees, but we'll make sure to communicate them more clearly in the future. We would love to have you return for another pleasant stay. Best regards, Your MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel Team

Please do not waste any of your time or money going to this hotel. The rooms are not what is shown in the photos and are the size of a shoe box, you practically walk in and trip over the bed. The balcony we had in room 204 was overlooking a shop which constantly stunk of people smoking. Upon arrival we asked for additional pillows as these were wafer thin and was like sleeping on a sheet of paper, these never arrived so we had to use the blankets for head and neck support. This room also must have had the worlds thinnest walls as we was able to hear every conversation going on either side of us at all times. The room also had an awful noise for x3 nights which was the sound of a WC refilling every 10/15 seconds. Booked a double room but was the standard 2 single beds. The food was constantly cold and very poor & also made us both very unwell including my pregnant girlfriend. When we told the staff nothing was said or done until 2 days before we were leaving and then we was offered late check out. When booking late check out we was asked back to reception 3 times to confirm as no notes had been placed on the system. The hotel staff was constantly rude when we was asking for our drinks throughout the day and would often mutter under their breath in Spanish. The “snack” bar was left out stall pastry’s from the morning which were shocking but you could always pay for food at the bar as part of your all inclusive holiday when you are also paying for your beer to be served in a dirty wine glass or plastic cup. Considering this is an adults only hotel there is no need for plastic cups epically dirty ones. The pool was the size of a paddling pool at the rear of the hotel. Where a member of staff quite clearly had brought his partner to work and went into the formal toilet with her for over 15 minutes and then left and acted like it was normal. Bear in mind there is only 2 external WC facilities so it was very clear what was happening and what they were up to. The beer was flat and the wine was warm. Luckily my girlfriend is pregnant so only one of us had to endure this awful part of the holiday. One of the pools was outside of reception on the corner of a main road which clearly is miss sold from the advertising photos. The staff also would not change up notes for coins when asked as we wanted to play pool but then did so for another couple which I believe were German I do not know if this was because I am English but it did feel like they didn’t want us there. There was no facility to make a tea or coffee in the morning or access to get this after or before certain times considering this was a all inclusive holiday we ended up eating out and having more snacks than expected. Although the hotel had said they did not want people bringing snacks in they had no issue with people sitting at night on the limited seats (around 20) drinking out of cans like teenagers in parks. We both looked to get a flight home earlier but decided we may as well stay and spend as much time at the beach as possible away from the hotel. Do not waste any of your time or money as honestly you would have a better time at home watching a series on Netflix than staying in this hotel.

Hello George, Thanks for your review. It seems our room size wasn't quite what you were expecting, and for that, we're sorry. We aim for cosy efficiency, but we understand that comfort is key. As for the extra pillows, we're usually on the ball, so we'll be reviewing why there was a hiccup with your request. It's disheartening to hear about your dining experience; our buffet usually receives high marks for its variety, including those 17 types of hot meals and the local delicacies we take pride in. We've noted your encounter with our beverages, and while we do adhere to responsible serving laws, we want every sip to be enjoyable. Lastly, we're surprised to hear about your experience with our swimming pool and the alleged staff behaviour, which is certainly not in line with our standards. Rest assured, we value every guest's comfort and will be attentive to your feedback. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance to show you the true hospitality we're known for. Warm regards. Your MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel Team

Very unfriendly in general at reception. I went with the IMSERSO and asked for a single room, paying the necessary supplement, they told me that there was no room and instead on their own website I booked a single room for the same days at full price and if there were for the same 9 nights. They tried to give me a room on the 10th floor where the elevator did not reach (I am 73 years old) the receptionist Joana. The other receptionist Julian traded me for one on the 5th floor, double but for me alone. I wasn't the only one who had problems with the unkind and unfriendly Joana if it's good for management to take action. Very poor breakfast. There's no spunk. Meal with only two plates of second, fish and turkey and dinner with two as well, one pork ribs. We're doing worse than a cheap bar menu of the day. They don’t put a paltry paper tablecloth on the tables, so you eat at a clean table with a balleta, which is best not seen. In the end the hotel management and Mundiplan decided to pay me my reservation and charge me the supplement for my double room single use. Let's go what I ordered at the beginning. A detail of the hotel address. That's why instead of one star I scored it two. As for animation - activities only at night from Monday to Friday, three days dancing and two bingo. Unfortunate. In seven years of IMSERSO I have never seen anything so poor.

Wouldn't return, food was awful, always luke warm not edible, they may do 17 dishes, as they say but worst food we've ever had, good salad selection, soup was hot but not what description stated, veg soup full of noodles! one night veg soup had meat in it. The drink rules for all inclusive is useless, 3 at lunch and 3 at evening meal, choice beer, white, red or rose wines, I usually have water with my meals, so took wine with evening meal else I wouldn't have had an alcohol drink, having tokens be a better idea so you could use them when you wanted, I know it's the islands rules but doesn't make sense you are only entitled to six drinks per day with meals but they would sell you alcohol. If you took it outside you would have to decant it plastic or paper cups. The roof terrace gave great views out to sea, and the port, with ships, and ferries, and planes that had just taken off, floor needed a good mop, had to wait till it opened each day at 11 am, quiet up there with a small dipping pool.
Our room wasn't ready cleaners were in it someone already occupying it, went to reception allocated another room, had see view, but right on street and quite noisy at night couldn't leave veranda door open.
Taxi from airport was £37 euros, for 5 of us, when we asked at reception for taxi for 5 back to airport, we were advised don't do taxis for 5! We either had find one on street or catch the bus, bus stop around corner caught that. The area is looking run down, lovely promenade, couldn't find a bar showing English football.
Good points. We had fantastic weather, the shower in our room was fabulous.

Hello Wendy, We're thankful that you put some time aside to share your feedback. We're thrilled to hear the shower in your room was a hit - nothing beats a good splash after a day under our fantastic weather, right? Plus, those views from the roof terrace are quite the crowd-pleasers, giving you a front-row seat to the sea and skyline. We're chuffed you enjoyed them! However, we're really sorry to hear that some things didn't tickle your fancy. Our culinary team prides itself on the variety of our buffet, and we always aim for the descriptions to match what's in the bowl. As for the drinks, our all-inclusive options and serving regulations are indeed aligned with local policies, but we'll take your feedback on board about the token system – it's a neat idea! Room allocations can sometimes hit a snag, but I'm glad we could find a sea view alternative for you. Additionally, the nighttime buzz is part of our lively location, but we get that it can be a bit much when you're counting sheep. Next time, let us know, and we'll find you a quieter spot to dream in peace. It's a bummer the local scene didn't score a goal with the English football, but we appreciate your feedback on the assistance received with transport tips and local hotspots and will take it into account to make the next visit a win. We do hope you'll allow us to make it up to you on your next visit. Take care, Your MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel Team

Not the best hotel. Booked as a solo guest as they have solo rooms. Upon first arrival, the reception seemed OK and check in was smooth. The room on the other hand was shocking. I was in their Superior Single room. I couldn’t find anything superior about it ( I later learned that it was described as superior because it was recently renovated ). The bed was a thin mattress on top of a dirty, spring base. The room was tiny and overshadowed by the rooms on the other side of the building. It was a cloudy morning and the size and location made the room feel gloomy and claustrophobic. I didn’t even notice the bathroom as I got my bag and went straight to reception. After complaining about the room I was offered a junior suite at an additional cost. The suite was to me a normal sized room, not big but adequate. The view was of the street corner and not the other guests on their balcony so that was a plus.
The layout of the room was very strange. The large shower cubicle was in the bedroom whilst the toilet and sink was tucked away in the corner. Still I was pleased that there was a room available and that I could afford to upgrade my room. I was there for one week which would have been miserable if I was in my previously allocated room. The room was clean and fresh and comfortable for my needs.
The hotel itself is in a run down part of the resort, but that didn’t put me off. The food, edible but not appetising. The food was labelled in German and Spanish and so I only ate food that I could recognise. The waiting staff did not serve me at all. I had to get up and each night for a drink. I was half board and I think their attention was aimed at the all inclusive guests.
The pool area had no umbrellas so there was no shading. The sky bar was the same and so I could only sit out for short periods of time before it became too hot.
Speaking of hot, there was no AC as it is considered to be the cold season, even though I went in May , making the room too hot for me at nights

Yes the guests are mainly German but the resort is catered more for German tourists. Did I enjoy my stay? Yes, would I go back to that hotel? No.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It's great to hear that you found your upgraded room clean and comfortable – that's always our goal! Though, it sounds like our food variety didn't hit the spot for you. We pride ourselves on our wide selection, including local delicacies and your feedback is important to us. We're also sorry to hear that the waiting team didn't meet your expectations; we usually receive high praise for our attentive team. We appreciate your feedback and have noted your comments about umbrellas for shade – our guests' suggestions are always welcome! We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future. The hotel is composed of two distinct buildings. One part is older whose rooms are fine but very normal and another area is clearly seen to be new and whose facilities possibly correspond to the category of 4-star hotel.
As I say, I was in the oldest part and the rooms are comfortable the bathroom too although they would need a spin to really be a 4 star hotel, that yes all super clean.
Still the beds are very comfortable and the rooms quite spacious.

The hotel in general is very well is quiet, no children are noticeable, and although on the upper terrace they usually organize themed parties every night these end at 23h but closing the windows you can rest perfectly.

The hotel has three swimming pools one small with jets at the entrance that is the least crowded, one larger at the back and one on the upper roof. All three are very well maintained as well as having sun loungers and in the upper roof pool there are Balinese beds as well.
As I said on the upper roof, where one of the pools is, there is a bar-terrace where having a few drinks in the afternoon night is very worth the views and also usually have themed parties or take some singer or DJ who cheers quite a lot.
All hotel staff are lovely pending resolving any issues at any time. In the hotel you can also book excursions to different villages departing from the hotel. They are quite flexible with check in as my flight arrived after 23h and I had no problem accessing the hotel.
But without a doubt what would stand out above tooooodo the above, is without a doubt the quality and quantity of the buffet food, crazy!! I went with Half Pension (breakfast and dinner) and someday I paid for the meal apart because it is very worth eating there. Very varied food lots of fruit and vegetables always besides meat, pasta, fish... besides the variety the food was delicious.

In short I highly recommend this hotel and if I returned to the area I would definitely stay in it again.

The small room looked like a birdcage.!! You can not regulate the heating in the room! They have not changed the sheets of the room not the towels in three days because there was a sick customer but they were not even interested in leaving clean sheets, the very bad quality food there is no variety of fruit in general horrible, they refused in the dining room a worker cook of the to give me a plate of food for this person who was sick in the room that could not go down in 4 days to make any kind of food.
The hotel has plenty of stars!! I think a hostel has more category.

We had a very nice trip to Mallorca for a few days and the staff in the hotel were very polite and helpful.

Being honest we made the holiday nice by getting away from the area as much as possible and away from the rest of the mobs of rowdy guests at the hotel.

When we arrived, we asked if there were any upgrades available to which we were delighted to hear that you could pay for a suite for an extra £10 euros per night. It was also very nice as well to be asked if we wanted a kettle in the room……

When we got to the room we were really quite surprised on how small the room was to say it was a suite. The bed covers had cigarette burns in them - which amazingly the maids remade the bed daily, putting the burn holes tidily back in the same position!

The table in the room was tatty with sharp edges on the bottom which were quite painful if you caught with your foot.

In regards to the kettle, we had to laugh really. We DID get a kettle… just a kettle in an old cardboard box on the side! Nothing to actually use a kettle for - no cups / mugs, no tea bags or coffee or anything that would resemble being helpful, so the tatty box remained as “decoration” in the room for the duration of the stay.

The shower was nice, but the room was generally tired. The flush on the toilet needed to be pressed 2 or 3 times to stop the cistern from constantly running.

In regards to the rest of the stay, it consisted of listening to drunk football supporting foreigners doing the best to perform zoo type sounds as loud as they could from their balconies. The staff of the hotel made no attempts to address this.

The area is full of drunk, half comatozed teenagers or men, that struggle to put a foot in front of each other or hold back being ill in the street. The new “not all inclusive” packages at this resort (you are allowed just 3 drinks each at lunch and at dinner even though this is sold as all inclusive) doesn’t seem to be working to prevent the drunks who now simply buy cans and hang off the balconies instead. Then the whole area surrounding the hotel as a result is littered with empty or abandoned beer cans or rubbish.

The food was generally ok although they could do with putting some cold meats out at lunchtime like they offer at breakfast as it would have been nice to have a salad without something fried to accompany it.

Would I come back to S’Arenal? NEVER
If the hotel was somewhere else and they put a bit more effort in to making it attractive it might be considered.

In summary, if you are looking for a short bit of respite escape to time sun, then I would probably look at some other areas of the island.

Sadly, not the kind of review I would have wanted to have left.

Room Tip: Don’t do it. How on earth is this a 4 star?

Hi Matt, Thanks for your feedback. We're thrilled to hear our team's polite and helpful demeanor made a positive impact on your stay. It's our aim to provide guests with exceptional service and I'm glad we hit the mark for you. Regarding the suite, we're sorry to hear it wasn't what you had expected. While our rooms are designed to be cosy and efficient, we always aim for comfort and are continuously evaluating guest feedback for improvements. We appreciate your feedback on what could use some TLC and will have our maintenance team get right on it! As for the kettle situation, that surely sounds like a bit of an oversight on our end; it's meant to be a convenience, not a curiosity! We also appreciate your thoughts on the atmosphere around the hotel. While we strive to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay, controlling external influences can sometimes be a challenge. We're mindful of creating a welcoming environment and will keep your comments in mind. It’s nevertheless reassuring to know you found the food generally okay, your suggestion for our lunch selection is much appreciated. We pride our buffet on offering a wide variety of options and we're always looking for ways to enhance our guests' dining experience. We hope to be able to welcome you back for an even better experience. Best wishes, Your MLL Mediterranean Bay Hotel Team

They have different all inclusive packages so check with your agent which one you are on, a lot of people were caught out with this Obviously cheaper outside of Hotel but that’s standard for a good hotel Good measures and the lattes are fab Hope that helps
