I booked a King room in order to have a bigger bed and also that I wouldn’t walk into my luggage when I had to get up at night. So the room is big, and the bed is big. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough. It was noisy but because the noise is constant, we did manage to sleep.
We stayed for 2 nights. Our room did not get any wifi signal most of the time. Even when it was very late at night, we may get 1 click out of 5. So I tried going down to the reception where the signal was strong. I managed to load a few web pages as I had to book my next hotel. Then it didn’t work even at the lobby. I had complained several times to various people and was told that they were working on it. So the free internet is not very meaningful.
The front desk staff speak a little English and they were all very helpful and pleasant.
We liked this hotel, it was very convenient to the exit 407 on the Madrid-Lisbon motorway.
Right on the edge of Badajoz it could be a very good touring center for that area of Spain and nearby Portugal (3K)
The rooms were comfortable, clean, large and quiet. Blessed with quadruple glazing no noise penatrated our sleep.
I had to ask for another room because I could hear a noisy fridge from the kitchen downstairs. and we were dissapointed that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday, obliging us to use the cafe at the fuel station next door.
The staff were very helpful, and the parking was secure. The wi-fi was fast too, making our stay almost perfect.
We would stop there again
The first time we noticed that there was a wedding going on in the centre of the hotel (which is open and surrounded by bedrooms, although there're noiseproof Windows.). The reception gave us rooms as far away as possible from the noise and it wasn't too bad.
The second time though was an ABSOLUTE nightmare. The Money driven owners had not one, but two weddings taking place at the same time, one in the centre of the hotel and the other on a nearby tent.
Result: we've spent the whole night without being able to sleep because of ALL the noise coming from both weddings, which ended at about 6 am in the morning. Never saw such disregard for clients and WOULD NEVER return. Stay away if you value your sleep.
We had a small housekeeping problem and the lovely Fatima sorted it out for us immediately and moved our room - we didn't even have to go down to reception, she came up to us. Very impressed.
The breakfast, although not huge was varied and of excellent quality with the best coffee I think I've ever tasted in a hotel. We had room service for 2 coffees when we arrived and it only cost us 3 euros - for the two!
I would advise taking the package where breakfast is included (at about £5 pp extra rather than pay £14 on the day.)
We will certainly be staying there again on our next trip to Portugal.
Apparently you drive out the town but in fact not, it is just in the edge if it. So quiet for resting after a long jorney.
I went for some jogging and you will face a lovely nature around the place.
Breakfast is far abundant and the best spot of the entire place is the 24hours restaurant by the main building. You will find a wide choice of food and drinks.
I will come back to here when i have to work again in Badajoz.
Parking is free.
