Detailed Reviews
Had to stay for 3 nights as our camper van was in the garage for repairs.. First impression wasn’t that great.. Outside looked very run down.. Checked in and got our key.. Our room was ok however there were burn marks in the sheets and some other marks on one of the beds and the room in general felt a little dark and dingy.. The toilet and shower still had hair around them and it looked as though there was maybe droplets of blood on the door of the toilet and on the floor.. Something in the room smelt like sick or sour milk.. I couldn’t work it out.. Room had a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave and the motel is in walking distance to cafe’s, shops etc.. Only reason I gave 3 and not 2 is because when we had to extend for another night, the guy at reception was really lovely and chatty.. Talked about travel and my home county in Cornwall as he had visited before..

I recently stayed at the cabbage tree motel and was pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't anything flash but was all I needed for a comfortable nights sleep on a budget. It was the friendly service that appealed to me the most. I paid $75 for a room with a private bathroom yet the manager carol treated me like I was a guest at the Hilton, taking every measure to make me feel comfortable and welcome after my long journey.

I booked a room here for my husband while my son was at a sporting tournament nearby. We didn't have a heap of cash to throw around and this fit the bill. The room was compact and tidy, with private bathroom. If you're on a budget and not going to be in the room until bed time this is the place for you, lets face it, you don't go to Wollongong to stay indoors, there's so much to see and do in the area.

Great lunch specials, I usually get the steak with chicken wings, they have nailed the Dianne gravy!!
The burgers a big and delicious too. Drinks are reasonably priced.
I just wish they would do pork ribs, the beef ribs are good though as is the parmi.

Yeah it really doesn't look very good and of course it's behind a car park but still very noisy from the main road. Pleasant enough inside and it has a pretty spectacular happy hour, although from 3-5. That's the only time I'd go here over the Charles.

+1
Popped in to grab some lunch and happened to be Sunday Bunday... $12 burgers all day. Huge burger menu and everything you could want.... everyone at our table loved their burger!
We had chicken delux, Hawaiian, philly steak, parma and a hangover burger!!!
Great size... hot and fresh. Waffle chips are delicious and a great mix of crunch and potato.
Definitely will be back for another lazy lunch out of the veranda.

You know those rundown, motels in New York, where fugitives live in the movies?
Welcome to the Cabbage Tree Motel.
Note: This place has nothing to do with the Cabbage Tree HOTEL out the front.
Cockroaches, cut fly screens, windows that don’t lock, dust, dirt, mould and furniture that looks like it came from a curb side rubbish pickup ... then you have the police paying visits to your fellow guests.
We landed here by accident and would have preferred to sleep under a bridge as we would have felt safer.
The beds were clean, the shower was hot, the TV worked. But the curtains stank, the windows were dirty, the shower was mouldy, the sink was rusty and we enjoyed a game of ‘the floor is lava’ and ‘don’t touch the chair’.
If you want to pretend you’re a fugitive hiding in a two-buck motel in the Bronx ... and sleep with one eye on the door and the other on the unlockable bathroom window that faces a paddock/dumping ground ... this one’s for you.

After a bad experience last night in lakes entrance I checked that steaks were available, yes sir. Ordered 6 meals, 2 of which fillets . 20 minutes later told sorry no fillets
Ordered the T bone instead. When it eventually came had to send a luke warm steak back to be heated again . Probably a great boozer, sadly not a good restaurant
