The hotel is quite nicely decked out and the staff were helpful, especially in helping us to connect to google chrome cast. Our room was pretty good, spacious and nice to have a kitchen. But the big big downside was the noise from the drive through Maccas close by, where all night long we could here orders being taken and cars revving and rumbling. It makes me think how many people have terrible terrible diets. I'm glad I had my earplugs. I don't know where else would be quiet in the hotel as on all sides, all rooms are noise affected.

I’ve stayed at the Abode Gungallin about 5 times and have watched it slowly start to feel so somewhat dilapidated with stained carpet and chipped paint.

We returned again for just one night and had to endure very intrusive music coming from the restaurant/bar next door. Though the hotel does provide a decent level of comfort with the rooms I feel that it doesn’t extend to the ambience. I think most guests would like to retire to their rooms and not hear the thump, thump of music coming from the restaurant.
Unfortunately Abode doesn’t have much competition in the local area but we’ll definitely think long and hard before we stay here again.

We found the location, within 5 minutes of a large shopping centre, was convenient. The apartment was light, airy and clean. The bed was comfortable. There was some noise at night with McDonalds behind and a couple of restaurants nearby but it wouldn't stop me returning. The receptionist who greeted us on arrival was particularly warm and welcoming.

My wife and I stayed briefly at Abode Gungahlin during a short stopover in Canberra. We chose the location due to its proximity to where our relatives live. We have absolutely no criticism of this accommodation. Arrival and departure were efficient, booking was easy, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean, well furnished and comfortable. The kitchenette was sufficient for making breakfast and eating takeaway meals. The bathroom was a reasonable size and there was plenty of hot water. Our room faced away from the main road and we did not notice any traffic noise. Wi-Fi was very good.

Read some of the reviews and almost didn’t book. So happy we did. The room was large and clean, perfect for our family of 5.
We were in room 61, didn’t hear any noise the first night, second night, a little but was expected outdoor noise.
Location was great for us, close to great cafes and restaurants and to the shops.

Recommend Sunday cafe for breakfast and Ogawa Japanese for dinner.

Loved that the room had enough cooking utensils for dining in one night and brand new washing machine and tumble dryer was appreciated as we are half way through a long trip.

Would recommend.

Didn’t book a room until the day I landed. This property kept on popping up, I didn’t want to stay in the northern suburbs as my day started early the next day in bungendore but I thought just get up earlier. Check in was easy, friendly, prompt. I received a free upgrade. The room was very nice, clean, spacious and had a nice balcony to overlook some greenery and local buildings. I found that the hotel was very quiet which I liked, no exterior noise. Had all I could ask for, my only knock which is so slight was the shower area, I’m quite tall and the shower head wasn’t high enough for me, and water pressure lacking a little. But overall 5/5

The stand out was I checked out, drove off and realised I had left my wedding ring in the room. I came back with no staff in attendance, and I had put my access card into the early bird check out box. I called the help desk, after confirming I was who I was, they cut the key remotely and I regained access to my room and got said precious.

Close to plenty of eating options, shopping district. Would certainly return

We have stayed here numerous times over the past 4 years and we find that each time the hotel is getting a little more in need of attention.
The rooms are quite comfortable and the beds very good, however the carpets are starting to show wear, the rooms only have one side table and lamp in many rooms rather then one on each side of the bed as they used to, there is now only one bin in each room and these along with the toilet cleaning gear is going rusty. All small things that could be easily fixed.
The location is great, walking distance to shops, eateries and the tram into the city.

You can’t really get a quiet room here. One side backs on the KFC and McDonalds drive through which is 24 hours and the other side is on the highway, one corner is at the traffic lights and the other backs onto the pub. There is parking but don’t leave of a night time to get food as the car park will fill up from the pub on the corner. It needs a complete overhaul, we had chipped tiles in the small kitchen, carpet was very stained and the lounge looked like it had been dragged in off the side of a road. The room like it had been renting by a frat house and there had been a large party. The staff offered us to change rooms but the other rooms were worse and noisier. There staff here were amazing and are the glue that hold this place together. It is close to the shops and food and has free WIFI.

The location is absolutely brilliant! Walking distance to everything! Trams, shops, leagues clubs, bottle shops, fast food, major supermarkets, major department stores, cafes, next door to a bar, service stations, the list is endless!

We checked in closer to 6pm and it being a public holiday, i didn't give it 2 thoughts about checking in. Reception rang to notify me that they closed at 6, so i checked in over the phone.

Room was superb! If you need extras, all available at reception, where you can help yourself. There's also a mini shop, where prices are actually on par with supermarkets.

If you can, get their bank details to pay. I was charged a $10 credit card fee. They do have an account you cam deposit into, saving that fee.

I can't believe this little gem

I was hesitant to stay here. My husband was travelling for work and I was shopping. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. I loved that it had a coffee machine and you could use to link your phone to the tv. Would absolutely stay here again.
