Met some friends for lunch after catching the train. Hotel is nice and the beer is cold however the cold seafood is very
overpriced and served with a take away pod of sauce. Easy walk to the train station.

My daughter and I visted Anglers Arms on Sunday afternoon. It was very pleasant sitting on the shaded veranda with occasional gentle breeze on such a hot, humid day and listen to John Larder live music with a glass of wine.
We decide to order a meal from a fairly extensive menu on the blackboard. A mistake.
Meals are overpriced, and less than average in particular my daughter’s meal … a beetroot salad, bland, discernible amount of dressing, if any. She had 2 mouthfuls and out of politeness asked to put her meal into a takeaway container… which was promptly thrown into bin at home at a $25? That is a rip off!
The neighbouring tables were also questioning the authenticity of the “home made” Tiramisu.
What a shame, will come for a drink when there is music but will never order food at those prices and quality again.
P.S. I booked via Email 2 seats for the Sunday, assuming the place may be quite full due to live music. Upon arrival .. neither the restaurant nor the bar had a booking in my name.

The hotel is aged inside and could really do with a refurb and decent air con. The meals are very large and tasty but expensive. Wait staff were very friendly, the bar staff arrogant. I think it's one of those places where they don't have to rely on good service and a friendly greeting to ensure people come through the door. Probably due to a great location in a beautiful part of the world.

The ( cough, cough) restaurant is very overpriced for crappy food and worse service. Bar staff were arrogant and not in the least interested in any form of greeting. The building is outdated and screams of wanting a refurb. But, with no competition for miles around ?????.
Give it a miss is my advice.

Been here a few times and the food quality declineses each visit. Today, the pork and cabbage spring rolls were soaking in cooking oil, mushy and contained very little meat... to top it off they overcharged $3.
The pan seared barramundi was also dripping in cooking oil and the chips were overcooked.
The calamari was the only dish that was pleasant to eat.

So, we've given this place a few chances but they've failed this time and we won't be going back.

Wonderful meal. Average prices for the coast. Best seafood basket! A special " shout out" to the wonderful staff who catered for my vegetarian daughter when she asked.for options as the menu was limited for her. Would love to see more vegetarian/vegan options on the regular menu ( maybe use the traditional menus and put veg/vegan options in to make it varied without going to too much trouble like other pubs do?) But gotta say the staff ( and chef with thanks) were wonderful. Crispiest chips ever!

We had several meal here whilst staying in Brooklyn. All good. Meals were so large we could share one between two and have room for desert. Across the road from the little Motel we stayed in whilst doing the River Mailboat Trip.

Probably your best option when visiting Brooklyn. Large terrace, plenty of seating inside, number of vegetarian options. The salad with pumpkin was actually slightly spicy and a very generous portion. The rest of the table also enjoyed eating mainly fish dishes.
Downside: you have to order drinks and food at different points
