A small boutique, 6 years old, motel in Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River. We are opposite the Anglers Rest, which is a Pub with Restaurant. The motel is 200m away from the railway station, and only 300 meters from the famous "Postmans River Boat Cruise" wharf. Brooklyn is surrounded by bushland. Our motel is on the great Northern Walk and although close to Sydney, (51 km to CBD) there is a total different feel than the City Motels. Brooklyn is great place to go fishing or leave the car and take the train into the city. There is no off street parking at the motel, but because the road is a dead end, well lighted and wide, parking near the motel is normally easy. Both the railwaystation and the motel have steps and the motel is therefor not suitable for small children and/or disabled people. (No wheelchair access) We are a member of the golden chain and are a "platinum motel"

The bed linen had not been changed after the previous guests had checked out. There was a distinct smell of body odour on the sheets and pillow cases upon inspection, which clearly indicates this. The spare linen also smelled of body odour. I slept between the top sheet and blanket, to which I was bitten by mites from head to toe. It is totally unacceptable to expect a paying guest to sleep in a bed in that condition. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE I COULD NOT POSSIBLY RECOMMEND OR RETURN TO THIS MOTEL...... # REVIEW RE - POSTED IN ORDER TO REPLY TO OWNERS COMMENTS. 1. The owner claimed that spare linen is not stored within the room, with is untrue. I stayed in the front room, left hand side facing the street. There was a cupboard next to the fridge which contained SHEETS, PILLOW CASES AN A BLANKET.!!!! Thank you very much... 2. The owner also claimed that my review is not legitimate. My review is %100 legitimate and based on my experience staying at the motel..... Had the the bed linen been changed after the previous guests had checked out, TO WHICH IT WAS NOT. Had I also not endured a night of being bitten my mites, THIS REVIEW WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSTED.....

It is a very lovely motel...big room..tom the manager was absolutely professional and friendly..there isn't any off street parking but it's a very compact neighbourhood...everything is within 3 minutes walk..it is like walking onto the 70's..in a good way...I used to come to brooklyn 50 years ago and told myself I'll stay at brooklyn motel one day..and I did today..it was worth the wait..I can't think of any negative aspect...and the prices are extremely competitive in 2023...overall I give brooklyn motel 100 out of 100...and specially Tom the motel manager...we will be back when we want to stay on the central coast....p s. Bring your fishing gear..it's 3 minutes to the hawkebury river and surrounds

The hotel is nicely located near Hawskbury river and across the Rd from a good pub. It is extremely noisy though! Walls are paper thin I can literally hear everything going on next door, the people talking and laughing it is so annoying. Also, the microwave and kettle do not work, I tried plugging into other plugs and still no luck. Probably wouldn't come back.

Sorry about the noise. It is a bit out of our control, but thanks for letting us know that the kettle, toaster and microwave did not work. They were all on an extension 4 plug connector that failed when too much load was applied. The problem has been fixed.

Well-looked after property, clean and nicely presented. Nothing in the room was tired and obviously cared for actively. I thought really good. Fresh coffee and plunger valued and balcony pleasant to enjoy. Beds comfortable and bathroom was immaculate.

We stayed overnight to do the Riverboat Postman Sunday cruise. The hotel is as represented being quaint and authentic. Although the building is not your traditional motel layout, our room (Number 1) was spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and there was adequate heating and a hot shower. The owner has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to put in homely little touches in keeping with the style of the room. The place is also spotlessly clean and close to the pub for meals. Obviously this means a bit of noise on a Saturday night which is to be expected and you can hear the trains so this place is not for you if you cannot cope with an interrupted sleep. It's a short walk from the station and we arrived by train as we knew parking was an issue all over Brooklyn.

Freezing weather and no hot water. The last time I paid good money for accommodation with no hot water was 1994. Very comfortable beds, which helped, and it’s great there were spare blankets because the heating unit was very noisy and could not have been kept on overnight.

No idea when you stayed and in which room. We just got our free (government supported) hot water systems installed and as far as we know they work fine. Regarding the heating, we have reverse cycle air cons. We also have a small 1500 watts heater in each room. No need in Sydney for electric blankets.

From the Brooklyn Motel you can walk everywhere in Brooklyn. The room (No1) was great, very big and spacious with a good sized en suite. It had a sofa and armchair and a small dining table. Everything was spotless and the linen was good. Great friendly service at check-in and Tom kindly mailed my charger to me after we left, what could be better! I can strongly recommend the place

We stayed here on a return visit from a holiday. A stopover. It's great. Small, only a few rooms, but they are good. Well appointed and clean. We were a couple with one other (our disabled stepson). The benefits were the pub over the road (Anglers Rest): normal pub food, nothing flash, a bit pricey, but good. The downside is on street parking and the requirement to negotiate steps - would not suit anyone with mobility challenges or needs. We had breakfast just up the road, which was excellent. But there was at least one other breakfast spot near by. But we'll be back - close to railway station, and there's access to the postmans run water cruise. Highly recommended.

Hi sorry so long to respond to your review. Thanks for yr. positive comments. We enjoy hearing about satisfied customers. Yes we really care about each individual person. Just wanted to let you know we now offer breakfast in the motel. The steps outside are an issue for people with mobility issues. We usually recommend people drop off just little way up the road on flat foot path and walk the small distance to our entrance to avoid the steps. Hope we can help you next time. Regards Tom

Stayed for a single night recently while travelling and while it's quiet old it was still well presented. If your looking for a flash 5 star experience you'll be disappointed, but if your after an honest simple accommodation that appears that it's probably family owned and run then this is the place to stay. Room was clean and had all the amenities you need, tea, coffee, biscuits, microwave etc along with a separate shower and a spa bath are all there, just nor overly flash. There a Pub across the road that had a very good bistro and a number of cafe's within a couple of minutes walk. Just be aware of the rather large steps at the entry and along the roadside as there's only on-street parking available.

We stayed 2 nights in this delightful country motel after arriving by train. It is a 3 minute walk from the station. A very friendly owner who greeted us. We were in room 1, king spa room. It is a big room with a couch, arm chair & small table & chairs. Very comfortable bed & microwave, toaster, plunger coffee along with cutlery & crockery. Compact bathroom with rainforest shower head & double sinks. Everything you could need. For light sleepers you could hear trains in the distance & as the motel is opposite the hotel we had noise issues on the first night, nothing earplugs couldn't fix. We highly recommend this motel.
