We recently stayed At The Sound for a weekend away.
The apartment was immaculately clean. Its not a large room - pretty much hotel room sized. The bathroom was large with a spa tub. Water was good pressure, however the shower head doesn't come very far into the shower, so you need to stand quite close to the wall to get good water coverage. There is a couch, dining setting and TV with Netflix etc.
It had a small kitchenette with the basics, but as we mostly ate out that wasn't an issue. If you were staying there for a longer term, it it a hotplate and sink and fridge.
There is a washer/dryer in the room for longer stays
The bedroom was part of the main room, though you can close it off slightly with sheer curtains which was cosy and cute.
The apartment is on a main road so its quite noisy at times, though we live near a main road at home, so this didn't bother us too much. It would be really lovely if the doors to the balcony were security screens as you could leave them open all the time, but you need to close them at night for security and the room was a little stuffy as a result, as there are no other windows in the main room. We had to resort to the air conditioner at night to alleviate this.
Its a good 20 minutes walk to the beach, which I probably should have checked before booking but the listing does say close to the beach. Driving time, its only a few minutes to the main beach at Noosa, but parking at main beach at times is nigh on impossible. I believe there is a bus that goes past as well, but we didn't need to use that.
There are heaps of places to eat around the area, so food is easy to come by.
We had a comfortable stay. The only thing I would say as although our booking said you'll be charged when you arrive at the property. We were actually charged before we checked in however.
We were advised if you book direct, the price is cheaper, so if you were going you could ring and ask for that.
There is also a charge for pool towels, so you could bring your own to avoid that. Breaksfast is an additional option, with delivery from a local bakery.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Having abandoned camping due to rain we called here to find friendly staff willing to offer a very competitive rate. Set in between Hastings St and Noosaville its a great location to access both. Room 8 was styled very elegantly with many comforting touches. Very clean and renovated well. Although we didn’t use the pool or bbq area it looked lovely and more than adequate for a quiet swim and relax.

My friend and I stayed here for three nights in January. We had a lovely stay, just a shame we couldn't stay for longer! The owners were very friendly. They gave us a small map of the area (including the boardwalk trail) and some tips for what to see and do etc. It was definitely a plus having bikes to hire. My friend and I used them to cycle to and back from the beach on our first day and to get to the local Woolworths. Our room was lovely and spacious, very clean. It was very handy having a washing machine and clothes airer which we made use of. The swimming pool looked lovely but we just didn't have time to make use of it. Same with the spa bath - didn't have any time to make use of it unfortunately. The location of the apartments was great, not too far to walk to the beach (and quick on bikes). There is a bus stop almost right opposite which was handy when we arrived and when we needed to get the bus back to Noosa Bus Station to get our Greyhound to our next destination. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Noosa and recommend it to others.

Easy check in. Upstairs room so had to lug all stuff upstairs. Very nice large spa room. Separate bathroom with small kitchen, open bedroom onto lounge and dining. Everything you could need in a very tastfully decorated space. Oh and a verandah but it is on a very busy road so sitting outside can be a bit noisy. If you are watching TV door has to be closed but when it is summer you might want it open. Use the air-conditioning, great but then it gets too cold...anyway the bed in under the air-conditioning which at night does get cold. The bed is on casters so tends to move forward, then the pillows fall down behind. Don't forget to dispose of rubbish on check out and do dishes or extra fees may apply.

At this very expensive time of year in an expensive location, this seemed like a relatively well priced option. It is well located near Quamby Place and its ferry stop on Noosa Sound. even though on a main access road, it is not too noisy. The car noise is there but with the doors closed, not too obtrusive. We felt it did not stand up to its web description and is definitely not 4 star, maybe three. Staff very nice.

We had a great time ‘At The Sound’. Our room was spacious with a generous outside patio area. The pool was very quiet and relaxing. The BBQ area was good and well maintained, and the BBQ starter kit from the owners was very handy and had all the essentials. The free bike hire was a big plus. Lastly, we would like to thank the owners for a wonderful and welcoming stay. They were very kind and generous. We wish them all the best for the future.

+1
We booked into this studio apartment for 21 days originally. We needed a place that was pet friendly as we were bringing our dog on holidays for the first time. It was July 11 th when we arrived and we were welcomed by managers Marg and Mike. The room was clean and comfortable wifi was great and the smart TV gave us our Netflix YouTube and any other apps we needed. When they said Pet Friendly they meant it our dog was treated as a guest from the start. There are upstairs and ground level studio apartments. We found with our dog downstairs was best. Our three weeks ended turning into nearly 4 months because of covid. Our apartment was like home and we were truely happy with it. The bed was comfortable the shower hot and pressure was great. The pool and spa we used everyday. The location was fabulous walking distance to both Noosa and Noosaville with the bus stop directly across the road. The bathroom had a corner spa which I did use once not into them really. The court yard out front was the best and most nights we spent out there. Gus our dog was very happy (he is a non barking relaxed dog) and spent most days happily on his bed on the front court yard. There is a space to run the dogs and a gate that leads out to the park out back then on to the river if they like a swim. There is also a dog park within the complex. A shaded bbq area is wonderful for those meals at home. It was a holiday of a life time for us and our neighbours and management have become friends for life. If you want to soak on the real Noosa the friendly relaxed welcoming holiday. Then this is the place you get value for money and treated like family. We are so sad to leave

Good location and admin staff were very pleasant but the room was a disaster, the floors were soaking wet when we arrived, I wiped them over with a towel and the towel was BLACK. The fridge was leaking water all over the floor, the whole room smelled very unpleasant and the dishes and utensils had dried food on them, and the couch had crumbs on it, I was not happy with the cleanliness at all and it made me question what else did they not clean, especially during a global pandemic. I did not have a very comfortable stay at the sound.

Response from Margaret Palmer, Owner at At The Sound
Responded 30 Jan 2021
Hi Mr King, We have a very high standard of cleanliness here At the Sound, as the reviews will show. The floors are vacuumed and mopped after every departure. At times the drying of the floors can take awhile especially in the high humidity. We would have relocated you to another room if we had known of your concerns. We had put a new Jute Mat into the room which may have been the cause of the unpleasant smell. This really is a one off situation and we are deeply sorry for uncomfortable stay. Regards Marg

We were very kindly welcomed on the day of our arrival. The lady a the reception gave us a brief tour of our room and information about bus connections to a shopping centre. The room itself was o.k, a bit outdated though.
A big MINUS: there were a lot of flies in our room, very unhygienic, they were really everywhere. Since there was nobody to be seen at the reception we could not report this and have this 'problem' solved.
On departure there was, once again, no one present at the reception, only a note on the door with a phone number that we could call and then someone would come over. Called, no response, so we just put the key in a bin for guests who would leave outside reception hours, which did not apply to us, since we checked out a 9.15 AM. So, sadly, no good feeling about our stay.
