28 year and at least 50 stays at N0 1. Glenn and Kerry are the best onsite managers in Noosa.
We have stayed previously up and down Hastings Street, but once discovering No 1 we never looked back.
It is so wonderful to ring and speak to Kerry when we wish to book. There is none of this "book onsite" which frankly is very discouraging.

The cleanliness of the units is outstanding, with many of the cleaning team being long time employees.

It's our home away from home!

These apartments are the best in Noosa. The apartment we stayed in was the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. The views are amazing, overlooking Noosa main beach and Hasting Street. Very close to Hasting Street, main beach and an easy walk to the National Park. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with all the plates, cutlery, glassware, plastic ware and pots you could ever need on holidays. Kerry was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on everything Noosa. Great place to stay at Noosa.

No.1 in Hastings claims to be Noosa’s most prestigious holiday address. We arrived with much anticipation, but found it didn’t live up to publicity. We stayed in Penthouse 16, which in terms of its bones, has much going for it. The owners bought something wonderful at time of purchase, and have kitted some of it out delightfully. There are elements that are incredibly tired now however. ALL of the kitchen and bathroom floor grouting requires redoing, the original white now being grey and/or brown, and appearing very dirty. The shower fittings throughout are 80s trifold, rickety plastic, with nasty silicon touch ups, and amateur glue repairs to soap dishes. Our stove top was filthy upon arrival, and the kitchen floor was decorated with bits of dry food. The penthouse laundry had a sign requesting patrons not to run the dryer and washer at the same time, and to likewise not use the dishwasher at the same time as either of these appliances. All showers cease to run ANY water if taps run elsewhere in the penthouse. Given accommodation can run to 6 people, this is far from satisfactory. Our top balcony and spa area had a rusted cupboard with its front door missing, displaying assorted hazardous chemicals to anyone brave enough to sit there. The communal swimming pool was not consistently well maintained, and is very small for the numbers staying in the complex.

We’d read much about the great service, but had a problem with parking on day one that seemed to lead to ongoing taciturn treatment from management, particularly Kerry. On day one, a staff member was required to find us a parking spot, as ours was taken by another vehicle. On day two we again struck this problem, with a motorbike in our spot. When we mentioned it to Kerry (who we hadn’t met until then), and stated that it was the second day on which there was no park for us, she replied that it was her husband’s bike in our spot, narkily adding it “wasn’t them” the day before. After that, her attitude seemed to indicate that we were considered difficult guests. When a birthday card was handed to reception for my daughter, I collected it, to find Kerry holding the card in my direction, but not speaking to me. Our departure was similar, with no cordiality after 10 days in situ, and a sense of irritation that we were checking out prior to the unpublicized 9am Saturday office opening. How we were to determine this was a mystery, given all matters of housekeeping and reception were without explanation.

We were ready to tell people that the complex is tired, and to be avoided, except that we went through the apartment directly under us, which was completely gorgeous, fresh and cutting edge. A staff member agreed with us that we had lucked out, our penthouse being “very tired” and “in need of work”, unlike many she knew to be well maintained. This was irksome in the extreme, given we were paying a considerably higher tariff than that for the other apartment we saw. Either the owners are not interested in keeping penthouse 16 up to scratch, or management is remiss in not reporting such to them.

Response from Kerry P, Manager at No. 1 in Hastings Street
Responded 6 Oct 2014
I am genuinely sorry that your experience with us was disappointing and we didn't meet your expectations. We value guest feedback, be it positive or negative. It allows us to review our policies and procedures so we can meet guest's expectations. However, I feel I need to clarify a few things mentioned in your review. I will definitely pass your feedback about Penthouse #16 to the owners. All apartments and penthouses are privately owned. They are all individually photographed on the "Photo Gallery" page of our website. As the Resort Managers, we maintain the property to 4 1/2 star level. We are constantly communicating with our owners to ensure apartments and penthouses are kept up to standard. Guest feedback helps us to discuss repairs, maintenance and refurbishments with them With regards to your comments on the state of Penthouse #16, I agree with the cupboard door being rusty on the rooftop. I make no excuses for it. (It has since been replaced) However, as far as the rest of your observations go, I respectfully disagree. Penthouse #16 enjoys a very healthy occupancy with more than 70% being repeat guests to that apartment. I am sorry you chose to not make us aware you were unhappy with the state of the cleaning in the kitchen. Had we known, we would most certainly have attended to that immediately. Our housekeeping attendants have been with us for many years and take enormous pride in what they do. We are constantly being commended on the quality of the cleaning of the apartments. To leave a stove top or floor unclean is literally unheard of here. When each apartment is cleaned, one of the attendants is assigned to 'checking' the work ~ that person does not clean the kitchen. As we do not use the showers ourselves, and had, up to your review, received no complaints, we were completely unaware there was a problem with the water pressure. After reading your review I had our plumbers come in, and together with me, we ran all four showers at the same time, with little to no loss of pressure in any. Water pressure can vary as we all know for a number of reasons, one of which may be different shower heads to those you have at home. I am confident that there are no water pressure issues after having the plumber confirm it. I apologise that your though me to have an attitude and be "taciturn & narky" ~ a very harsh description and definitely not who I am. We have a huge number of repeat guests her at No. 1 In Hastings Street. Most, if not all, come back not just for the beautifully appointed apartments and penthouse and the resort's location, but for how we are so approachable and make them feel so welcome. I think all other reviews on this website are a true reflection of how well we do things here. I do remember the incident with the car park. My husband had put his motorcycle there whilst he came upstairs to check if Penthouse #16 guests had a vehicle. At almost the same time you came in advising me that his motorcycle was in your allotted space and that the previous day a car was also in your space which clearly annoyed you, I fully understood. Unfortunately, guests sometimes park in the incorrect space and we are not aware of it. It's extremely frustrating to us too ! I'm truly sorry if you misunderstood my response to be rude as it was not intended that way. From memory, I was speaking on the telephone when I handed your daughter's birthday card to you, with a smile. When you were checking out, it was not with irritation that I told your husband we were not in Reception because we open at 9am on weekends. It was to let him know why we were not there. Our hours of Reception are detailed in the Apartment Compendiums. I opened Reception within a few minutes of him calling. Our pool is vacuumed and the surrounding area is hosed every morning. We have a qualified pool company come in weekly to test the water quality and balance the chemicals. Yes, it can get busy with guests enjoying the facility and moving the chairs around and bringing sand back from the beach. We are pleased it gets used in the way it was planned. I am confident that every day the pool is cleaned and tested, as we do it ourselves. We feel the resort pool is a generous size and more than adequate for our location being only a short stroll to Noosa Main Beach. Most of our apartments and Penthouses have private hot tubs or spas, as did yours. It's a shame that so many positives of the resort and Penthouse #16 were not focused on in this review. We are proud of the superb location of No 1 In Hastings Street, the uninterrupted views over Noosa, including Main Beach, Hastings Street and out to the Hinterland. Penthouse 16, as do all our apartments and penthouses have huge private terraces with BBQ, spacious living areas, well equipped kitchens, most with a gorgeous private spa. I trust this reply to your review clarifies the points that you raised

We have stayed at this property about 4 times. It is an apartment complex located at the end of Hastings Street. It is terraced up the hill but don't worry as it has its own inclinator lift which takes you to the top. It is run by a couple who live on the premises and take good care of their guests. The rooms are immaculately clean and the best part about them is that each room has a huge terrace with wonderful views and its own spa bath which you can sit in and enjoy the view in complete privacy.
The pool area is not large but very pleasant and the pool is kept at a lovely temperature. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and the 3 bedroom apartments have two bathrooms and are very spacious. Our favourite place in Noosa.

Jane of Hobart doesn't appreciate that the apartments are privately owned and differ to some degree in standards. We bring our whole family up here for the Sept holiday, staying for 2 weeks and rent 3 apartments for the 16 of us. The apartments are fantastically located and the terraces are unparalleled in size and views of Noosa and its beach and fabulous sun sets. It is almost impossible to book accommodation at anytime throughout the year, such is its popularity. We have been coming here for 10 years and the standards of the apartments are continually updated. Kerry and Glen do an amazing job in looking after the interests of guests and willingly attend to any issues. If Jane of Hobart is not happy then go elsewhere and allow bookings by appreciative guests.

A fantastic experience from beginning to end. We travelled to Noosa from NZ in November 2011, Weather was amazing, water warm, the accommodation (2 bed) unsurpassed. We have stayed at numerous apartments over the last 3 years but this one beats the lot. Location superb, apartments immaculate, large open living areas, decks to die for. Staff 10 out 10. Nothing was a problem. Great having a lift to our apartment but the challenge of the day was to only climb the stairs (Apartment 10). A great work out. A 2 minute walk to the beach for a swim, surf club just across the road, cafes, restaurants and shops virtually at your doorstep. Book Apartments on Level 4 and above if great views are important to you. We were so impressed that we have booked to take friends there in March 2012. BLISS

We have just arrived home from a week at Number One Hastings Street. I am compelled to review this property while the experience is fresh in my mind.
From the moment we first made contact with Kerry and the office staff to make enquiries/ book the holiday, the customer service has been first class. We booked Apartment 19 the Christmas/ New year week...busiest time of the year in Noosa!
We arrived and entered the apartment and went Wow! The room was beautifully furnished, pristine clean, great up to date technology only to be surpassed by the awsome outlook. Any one who has researched this property will appreciate its location. The views are the best in Noosa Heads....over looking Laguna Bay from the Surf Club to the hills behind Tewantin. A few steps to the beach and Hastings Street.
We have travelled extensively around the world and Number One Hastings Street will feature as one of our favourites! Our unit had a double bed when we are used to a King....By no means a negative.
Do youself a favour and contact Kerry and book now! You won't be disapointed!

We spent a week at this fantastic property over Christmas 2005.

Our two bedroom two bathroom appartment was superbly equipped, with the biggest terrace I have ever seen and the most amazing views of the beach and Noosa River.

Location was brilliant - an easy walk to the beach, to Hastings Street itself, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful.

I couldn't recommend this accommodation highly enough.

We have just returned from two weeks at No. 1. The first week in penthouse 16, second week in the Alexandria Suite. Penthouse 16 has the most amazing view of Noosa and the front beach. With three generations under the same roof, we appreciated the space penthouse 16 provided; high ceilings, well decorated large rooms which were immaculately clean. The kitchen was spotlessly clean and well equipped, which was great when we had friends over for a BBQ on the gorgeous balcony. Didn't have any problems with the water pressure as suggested by Jane of Hobart when using the washing machine and dishwasher.

The Alexandria Suite has been recently refurbished in soft neutral tones, just beautiful. It was so relaxing lying on the couch, reading a book and being able to see the beach activities from the comfort of your living room. Again the kitchen was well equipped and all rooms were immaculately clean.

No. 1 is less than one minute from the beach just off Hastings Street, which is a huge bonus, as you don't get the noise of Hastings Street at night time.

Kerry and Glen never stop! They do an outstanding job managing the apartments and caring for the guests. It's no wonder most families rebook their stay on departure.

I believe that to be a pretty old review, which fortunately for us, many of our regular guests to that Penthouse saw and responded to with their own positive experience in Penthouse #16. That said, it is currently undergoing renovations, in that all four bathrooms and the laundry have been re-tiled and renovated, it's been painted all through and new carpet will be installed by the first week of July. The queen size beds are being replaced with King Size and the window treatments and bedspreads are also being replaced. I'm surprised we didn't cover all this with you when you made your booking, I apologise for that. If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to contact us. Kindest Regards, Kerry.
