Detailed Reviews
If anyone out there is considering a holiday on Makepeace Island. Do not hesitate !!!
I recently stayed there for 5 nights and every moment was simply fabulous. From my very first contact with General Manager, Nick, everything was made easy. Every detail was taken care of by the amazing staff....from our arrival to our departure.
Our first night was kicked off with a fantastic birthday party for my grown son. Nick and the team themed the room to incredible detail and the food, well that was something else. Lanie, the Islands chef, never faulted once. Every meal was literally perfect. All 18 of us raved about the quality of the food every meal time.....was 5 star !!
Each night was different from the last. We dined in different dining rooms indoors and outdoors we enjoyed poolside and riverside. One of the many highlights was an incredible trip down Noosa River on the Makepeace Island barge. The barge was decorated with a huge candle lit dining table, complete with lounges, fire pit and bar.Whilst watching the sun go down in a secluded part of the river we listened to music, sipped champagne (thanks Anna) and watched as Nick carefully shucked fresh oysters for us all. All the while Lanie was on board preparing an amazing feast complete with a spit roast. The night was truly magical and unlike anything I have ever done before.
During the days whilst some of us enjoyed, swimming, fishing, sailing, tennis and ball games on the lawns others elected to do nothing except relax ...the latter of which included me. We had 18 year olds through to 53 year olds on the trip and each of us loved every minute. Again every lunch was in a different area with a different theme (thanks Anna) and always delicious. Our last night on the Island was a celebration of a fantastic week and a reckoning that we had made new friends. To all the staff, I can't thank you enough for every perfect detail that you organised. I will absolutely return to see you all...Nick, Anna, Lanie, Jason and Dennis you made our holiday beyond incredible...every single day. The experience was unique, fabulous, amazing and breathtaking but most of all heart warming. Feel blessed to have shared time on Makepeace Island with my close friends and family AND of course with you guys. Makepeace is a magical place for a holiday, not just for the luxury and location but because of the beautiful people that run it.

We recently stayed on Makepeace Island with our families including small children for a celebration. We have travelled the world and this would have to be one of the most memorable occasions and so close to Noosaville at our back door. The entire team at Makepeace was fantastic, their customer skills were outstanding as were attention to details making sure we all had a great time.Nothing was a problem to any of the staff and everyone was so happy and co operative. The food was just wonderful with a great selection , it was just a culinary experience, a wonderful selection of local produce.Facilities such as a sailing boat, tennis court, swimming pool, spa, and fishing ( bait provided)
Makepeace Island is very different from staying at a hotel or resort, it is a private hideaway making it a very special place to stay in a luxurious home with all the facilities. I cant wait to return to this beautiful paradise.
Highly recommended.

Well here is your chance. Rent Richard Branson's Noosa getaway and have the entire island to yourself and your guests. We did just that and spent three perfect days being totally indulgent and indulged. Where do I begin, its like visiting an old friend, all the luxuries are there, private villas, magnificent pool, tennis court, catamarans, kayaks, but it is the staff who excel and place Makepeace in a category all on its own. Nick Jones, the Manager has put together, a group of people who would not be out of place in the best resorts anywhere in the world, but still manage to convey the feeling that you've known them for ever. I have to single out Ross, our chef, who created a dazzling display of dishes and managed to satisfy everyone of our 13 guests. Nothing was too much trouble, in fact, they seems to know what was wanted before we wanted it ! The sunset river cruise complete with cocktails was a highlight. Abbie, Ross, Anna, Sam, Jason, Denno & Nick - thank you for making our stay perfect.

+1
We chose Makepeace Island as the destination for our elopement and were not disappointed. The wedding service was lovely and relaxed and the island proved perfect for our honeymoon.
We were married on the first afternoon of our stay. The staff were very accommodating. A place for the ceremony & signing had been selected and prepared beautifully before our arrival. Multiple trips in the boat to ferry hair & make up, celebrant, photographer etc were handled happily and efficiently. The staff were even happy to handle music, take video and sign as witnesses for the ceremony which was perfect. We then had full use of the island for photos.
That night we were seated for the most amazing dinner prepared by the island's excellent chef. Dinner included some 7 courses of outstanding food that would put any restaurant we've been to to shame. Courses included fresh local seafood, local produce and was first class. They even made us a wedding cake.
Upon arrival we were told to treat the island as our home, no where was off limits and no request was too hard. Every meal was excellent. The staff were all warm and friendly and we felt that we'd made some great new friends. We could bang on about the facilities, but you can see all of that on their website. For us, the biggest asset of the island was the staff. They all got along great, treated us wonderfully & left us wanting for nothing whilst still judging how much space to give us to be alone. I have never experienced staff like this staying anywhere else.
We were treated to a sunset cruise, did some fishing on the jetty and went very close to napping on each of the many day beds spread over the island. The island genuinely felt like home during our stay and we were amazed to feel so relaxed after a stay of only 3 nights.
Makepeace Island truly was the perfect choice for our wedding and honeymoon. We have no hesitation in recommending a stay to anyone.

Dear MakePeace Island and Staff,
Just writing to say thank you to you and your staff for a wonderful stay!
Food was fantastic – in fact if we had stayed longer we would have had to ask to reduce the amounts, or start doing kayak laps around the island, twenty laps twice a day.
Premises fantastic, location cool, housekeeping – very efficient and very subtle. I thought I saw Sarah whooshing around at one stage. But overall we messed up our rooms one minute and the next they were back to new condition.
Service – attentive but relaxed and not overbearing. Your team made the stay homely, relaxing, no fuss.
The kids loved helping make bread and you really spoilt them with meal choice.
Very nice to have calamari on hand the next day when you did not have it on hand on day one. Thank you for going that extra step and organising the little things like this.
The kids really packed allot in on one day: - swimming, kayaking, sailing, fishing, speed boating and Chess.
I am sure you and your team would have organised anything had we asked.
Overall we have put MakePeace and your team at the top of our food, service, and best holiday location list ever.
We will be back!

Loved this place. There for a friend's 50th - so total Island takeover. Getting there is a lot of fun - via boat on the Noosa River. On arrival, you could be anywhere - well almost. There wouldn't be too many places where the staff are so friendly, helpful, the rooms exquisite, the food so good...we simply loved it. Great night on the barge having sundowners, watching the sunset, open fire...etc...recommend Makepeace Island to anyone who wants to celebrate in style, comfort and freedom. Far from he madding crowd, but on the doorstep of civilisation...

I was lucky enough to spend two full weeks at Makepeace Island and if I could have stayed longer I would have! The island is a beautifully decorated piece of heaven in a very tranquil place, yet only minutes away from the lovely town and beach of Noosa.
The meals were cooked and prepared by Chefs Chris and Lisa and were simply out of this world, I always looked forward to meal times to see what delights we were having and I was never disappointed! If we wanted anything - they got it in, if we suggested we'd like to try something different - they sourced it for us.
This brings me onto the staff. I was blown away by how well we were looked after by Leasa, Chris, Selene, Jason, Emma, Lisa, Ged and Dennis. There was nothing that was too much for them, nothing they wouldn't do to ensure that our trip was perfect, I really can't praise them enough and miss them lots already! Coming home and actually having to cook for ourselves, drive ourselves places and make our own beds - is too much to handle right now!
It felt so much like home while we were there and I hope that one day we will be lucky enough to make it back.
Thanks Makepeace! :)

Have just come back from a short stay at beautiful Makepeace Island. Words hardly describe this incredible resort. Understated luxury where you can be as active or laid back as you like - great place to watch the Noosa river amble buy. Facilities are warm, relaxing and inviting where you can dress up or down as you see fit. Agree with another review about the Barge trip that we did just on Sunset for a couple of hours then back to the lodge. A fascinating Balinese theme to Makepeapce transports you to Indonesia. The biggest thing about Makepeace is how wonderful the staff are; they are exceptional, lovely people who are so chilled out; and nothing is too difficult for them. They will deliver on your almost every wish. Food great, especially the so tasty breakfast. Sacrifice other holidays to save up to go to this once in a million opportunity.

From the first moment that our large group (22 people) of friends and their kids (aged 9 months to 4 years) descended on Makepeace Island, Nick and his crew impressed us with their food and service. Without doubt the highlight for us was the afternoon trip down the river to a beautiful, expansive bay on their enormous barge. Watching the sunset whilst drinking, dropping a line in and standing around a fire pit on the coolest thing I've ever seen on the water was pretty awesome. We were served a gourmet BBQ on the barge before heading back to the luxurious surroundings of the island. It would've been a once in a lifetime experience, however we asked for it again on our last night. Twice in a lifetime! Every meal was an event with standouts being the Mexican themed lunch with sombreros and stick-on moustaches, movie night on the tennis court with the most delicious chocolate icecream cones, the milkbar picnic and the Japanese sushi and sashimi extravaganza. Laini, our chef, even prepared homemade baby food for all the babies and kid friendly meals for the big kids. I really appreciated the efforts of the staff, they made our trip. My daughter was supplied with a professional, but child size, chef outfit and invited into the kitchen one morning and given a cooking lesson. That just doesn't happen at your average large resort. The standard of the accommodation is top notch and the general feeling of the place is very relaxing, except when you're having a hit on the tennis court where our couple vs couple battles were intense! We all had a fantastic holiday.
