Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort garners praise for its luxurious pool, spa, and prime location near Hastings Street, with guests often delighted by the picturesque river views and welcome drinks. However, opinions differ on value, with some reviewers pointing out that the high costs do not align with the expected five-star experience.
While the resort is celebrated for its overall cleanliness and modern atmosphere, there are mixed feelings about the room quality and service, with certain guests noting dated furnishings and occasional lapses in staff responsiveness.

The welcome was rather pleasant as you would expect from the Sofitel. When I booked I asked which room would be nicer and the person booking suggested the river view, I’m glad she did as it meant we could spend a couple of nice afternoons on the balcony with some champers from the local BWS up the hill (there’s no bottle shops on Hastings st). There was hot weather for the first two days we were there, so while we went to the beach in the morning, it was simply too hot in the afternoon. This meant the pool became a nice plan B, and given school holidays had just finished, there was only 2 children in the pool, which was largely occupied by people in their later years enjoying life. The swim up bar makes a mean mango daiquiri (for $19) and overall the pool was largely clean except for some scum around the edge tiles. The gym also came in handy however is more catered for cardio and legs than an upper body workout. We did not dine at the hotel, Seasons, directly across the road over looks the beach and provides an amazing breakfast at far better value, and while we had dinner in Hastings Street one night, after the weather turned we ordered via Uber Eats, giving us affordable access to the restaurants in Noosaville and the Civic center.
Our room was spacious and quiet, and while not ultra modern, was not unclean or uncomfortable. The air con was effective (thankfully!) and the bed huge and comfy. Two minor complaints, $25 a night for parking seems a bit much given the room rate, and the TV in the room. When it rains there’s not much else to do but watch TV and in the age of streaming, this TV was at least 10 years old with no way to mirror or project Netflix, Stan, Prime etc. see tv pic attached. We paid $300 a night so it was ok value but it’s considerably more during the peak periods.

Bonjour 159craigp We appreciate you taking the time to share your stay experience and I am so pleased you enjoyed our serene river views. We see some stunning sunsets from our river balconies. We do have an amazing bottle shop operated by the resort along the side of the hotel next to our Noosa Beach House Peter Kuruvita restaurant. It offers great variety with some boutique offerings and also some deli items. We are currently reviewing options in the marketplace for TV replacements as we are aware of the preferences now with Stan & Netflix mirroring. Thank you so much for your feedback and we do hope to have a future opportunity to welcome you back. Warm Regards, Vianne Birrell Rooms Division Manager

we enjoyed our stay and booked this hotel primarily because of the pool. However we hardly used it as the beach was much more pleasant. During our week stay, the weather was not the best but our beach experiences were still possible and lots of fun. on the one day that it was fine all day, the pool was chaos so if you are expecting a quiet time or wanting a couples retreat this is not the place to stay. Great for families with young kids though.
The staff were very friendly always responsive in a very timely manner. Our room was very spacious-plenty for a couple and one child(she got the sofa which was made into a bed every evening). The room was serviced every day and we were always greeted with little treats on our return to the room.
Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't eat in the hotel-there are so many good cafes close by. (The best coffee at Blended).
Luckily the room was largish because other than hanging out in one of their lovely bars there was not really anywhere else to chill and hang out. Maybe that's just being very picky.
The kids zone was an undercover verandah area which did offer a few chairs, some games and table tennis which helped to fill some time. some morning there were cup cake decorating for the kids which made for a nice morning tea.
on the whole it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We has a fantastic stay at Sofitel Noosa. The staff all provide an outstanding level of customer service and deal with any issues promptly and appropriately. Special mention must go to Melissa (Duty Manager) who was a delight, and Cori the concierge who arranged our airport transfers (with additional needs such as a car seat) super quickly and even saved the day 24 hours before our departure when I realised I had the flight times wrong!
The housekeeping staff servicing the rooms were also great - always said hello in passing and accommodated any additional needs with a smile.
We opted for a suite as we have a baby and wanted extra space - we definitely got it! A big room, separate bedroom and large balcony. The room was clean, bright and had blackout blinds which worked well.
We also booked cabanas which were fabulous to spread out in, though there were plenty of options around the pool (we travelled outside of the school holiday period).
Swim up bar was great, though it sometimes took a while to get the attention of the staff.
Location can't be beat unless you want to be ON the beach in which case you need an apartment not a traditional hotel. But the beach is literally across the road so we had the best of both worlds.
I also enjoyed the day spa, had two nice treatments and the spa itself is great, but because it is open air around the perimeter it really needs a clean every morning as the birds hang around....
We would come again. Thank you to all the staff for your professionalism and polish. I left impressed which doesn't happen often!!

Where to start. We booked 7 nights for two adults and a 6 year old. Was looking forward to a luxury stay, but far from it. This hotel is very very old. It is run down, damp, mouldy. We had to change rooms because you couldn’t escape the damp mould smell from the room. The rooms are so basic they would not rate more than 3 stars. The beds were sunken in. Same with the lounge sofa. Nothing was comfortable to sit on. Old bathroom. Basically this place is just dingy. The pool area was the only saving grace. But why would you pay these prices for a pool in Noosa when there is the magnificent beach?!! The Sofitel is a useless brand hotel. They offer NOTHING. No turn down service. They even charge you for a tiny sachet of laundry powder! No umbrellas to offer for the beach, we bought our own. The breakfast was just ok. Having seen the offerings around Hastings street, I would have much preferred stay in one of the modern beach front apartments and try a different place for breakfast each day for half the price we paid for this run down shack parading as a 5 star hotel. Just Awful. Go somewhere else.

Bonjour Luxhol12 Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to read of your disappointment. Certainly as a more established resort, we are aware of this and are continually focused on the ongoing maintenance of the resort. It is most unusual for our rooms to be considered damp so again please accept my apologies. We do offer complimentary washing machine and dryers for our guests - given we have quite lengthy stays - we find guests will purchase their own powder, but we do have the option as you mention for $2.00 per sachet. We do appreciate your feedback and I would hope we may have a future opportunity to welcome you back. Warm Regards, Vianne Birrell Rooms Division Manager

We were delighted that our rooms (interconnecting) were ready at midday when we arrived. Check-in was so smooth. Everything ran like clockwork. We were on the 6th floor (highest floor in hotel) so it was very quiet, overlooking the pool to the ocean. Nice view. The ocean is a fair way away but it was easily visible.
The rooms were spacious but a little worn (e.g. sofas need recovering, carpeting a bit worn, bathrooms very dated). Our bath was an old kidney shaped spa bath. We didn't touch it. Outdoor furniture was a bit mouldy. The curtains didn't run properly from floor to ceiling so light spilled in as the sun rose (very early).
Room service was excellent and efficient. Our water and chocolates were replaced every night, we were given a free bottle of Champagne on New Years eve!, very friendly lovely staff. Right on Hasting Street so an excellent location (although not on the esplanade this is the next best thing). Two minute walk to the main beach. River ferry out the back door along with canoes, paddling etc. Buffet breakfast in restaurant was great! Really nice pool area. Complimentary ice tea in foyer each morning.
We loved Noosa and really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel.

PROS:
Sofitel Noosa is located in a great location directly across the road from Noosa Beach. The local area is beautiful and there are lots of great restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel breakfast is really nice and includes barista made coffee. The staff at the restaurant were really polite and helpful.
CONS:
1. We were staying here for our honeymoon in early December and unfortunately the pool area was quite busy. It was really disappointing that the hotel pool staff weren't monitoring the pool area and stopping guests from "reserving" lounges with hotel magazines and towels. We were there one morning and couldn't find a spare lounge with shade because inconsiderate guests had put down hotel towels or hotel magazines onto the chairs. The pool area is big enough to cope on busy days during peak periods but when 1/2 of the chairs are "reserved" it doesn't cope. It was obvious who has "reserved" a seat and which guests were actually there in the area and just swimming in the pool. This definitely needs to be improved. It was disappointing to spend thousands of dollars on a stay and not have the luxury of a seat in the shade by the pool.
2. There has been obvious water damage to the building and our entire floor and room smelt like mould / water damage. This was really unpleasant.
Summary:
There is a certain standard of service that you expect from a luxury hotel and I am not 100% sure that you get it at the Sofitel Noosa when compared to other Sofitels such as Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Overall it was an okay stay but I am not sure its great value for money.

Bonjour amylouise950 We appreciate your detailed review of Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort. As you mention, the pool area is in peak demand during December and January and we do have pool rules which outline the reserving of chairs is not endorsed. As you have noted, we will review how often the ambassadors are monitoring this. Please at any stage, reach out to the team as they will assist. Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort is a resort 'Sofitel' and therefore differs in appearance to the city Sofitel's but I assure you our team are passionate about providing superior personalized service. Have stayed here before a few years ago when it was The Sheraton. Still a very comfortable hotel with lovely large rooms but bathrooms could do with an update particularly the fixed shower head with average pressure!
Service of our rooms was excellent with daily complimentary water, fresh towels and top up of any toiletries used!
As we were Accor members we were given a complimentary bottle of Champagne and a cheese platter in our room on arrival which we appreciated very much!
We had a lovely pool view room on the 5th floor which was very quiet but with excellent views overlooking the pool and out to sea in the distance.
All in all a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again when next in Noosa!

We visited for one night mid-week (Thursday) in what was supposed to be a suite, over looking the river. Costing over 400 dollars a night, I found the room to be simply substandard. The location, the pool and foyer are nice but this is supposed to be classed as a luxurious 5 star hotel. Room fixtures are old, dated and certainly not worth the room cost.
I may have looked past these points given the views, location etc but I kept finding simple, specific issues in the room. The duvet cover had a small wine stain (or blood), the sofa had pulls in the fabric, a wall plug was loose and parts of the room in general just seemed old (see the pictures attached).
We were offered free parking as a consequence when I mentioned these issues on check-out. To charge $25-28 for parking on top of the extortionate room cost with the current tourist climate is actually an affront.

Thank you to all the staff at the Sofitel Noosa, we had the absolute best stay. I would have to say that this one of the best hotels that we've ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive all the staff from the porters, front counter, maids etc are onto every little detail to make your experience the best that it can be. The beds are super comfy, there are blockout blinds hallelujah and the Balmain complimentary toiletries were very luxe. The swim up bar was absolutely amazing too.
The hotel is in the heart of Hastings Street, right across the road from the beach and all the best restaurants are located in walking distance.
I could go on and on about how good this hotel was, but do yourself a favour and book this magnificent hotel you won't regret it.

I have been coming to Noosa since I have been a kid, for the past 35 years and hands down the Sofitel is the best location on Hastings St. After checking out many of the other properties on this popular strip, this resort is our go to place to go to each time. The staff and their general manager, Mark Wilkinson, are always more than accomodating and their standard rooms being 55sqm are an added bonus and a nice addition. Combined with the pool bar and a touch of French flair, I can't rave enough about this property.
