I’m not one to usually write reviews but in the case of Clover Cottage it would be wrong not to share just how magical, beautiful and tranquil this property is. It is owned by the kind and caring, Petrina and Paul who live on the property, which being twenty minutes out from the town on Manjimup, gives you piece of mind, should you need anything from help to advice. The cottages themselves are very clean, homely and inviting from the bread maker with yummy warm bread in it upon arrival (which has re inspired me to use mine at home again), to the mesmerizing pot belly stove which my husband became very proficient at lighting. I used the spa/bath most nights and then curled up in front of the fire, not getting too far into my book before I was nodding off to sleep, so many early nights were had! If you don’t wish to leave the property, byo your food and there is plenty to keep you occupied from canoeing, bush/river walks, tennis, trout fishing or swimming in the lakes or Warren River, to settling down with your book or laptop to relax or even work whilst away from home. If you do venture into Manjimup I would recommend Two Little Blackbirds Cafe for good coffee and breaky and to take a walk through the Heritage Park which is a historic little hamlet with a great kids play ground and the tourist bureau is close by. Tall Timbers is a great pub in town for lunch and the Mitre 10 and Vinnies stores are great if you are that way inclined. If you are into Wineries there are many within the region. We went to Hidden River just past Big Brook Dam for lunch and the food was excellent. Most of them open Wed to Sun so take note and double check before you make the journey. All in all I can’t really fault this place and will definitely be back and will look forward to seeing the wedding reception building finished. Who knows maybe one of my children might get married there in the future? It would be a beautiful venue for a wedding, that’s for sure.…
Clover Cottage is a beautiful space to relax and rewind, disconnect from the rest of the world and reconnect with nature. The rooms are well appointed and the freshly baked bread, locally made jam and fire roaring on arrival made us feel very welcomed. The jam is to die for by the way! There are canoes to explore the river and you can even catch a fish (trout) for dinner. Lots of walking trails and places to explore nearby, including truffle hunting at Truffle Hill only a short drive away. If you are a birder, fairy wrens are literally at your doorstep as well as red capped parrots, and 28’s.
We are Enjoying this place since 2003 and discovering more and more amazing places around. Very hospitable and comfortable place for family and friends. Fishing, canoe, hiking, beautiful birds, vineries and a lot of other things.
We loved the peaceful, relaxing ambience. Walks along the river, sitting in front of the fire, coffee on the verandah and birdlife everwhere. Our hosts were kind, friendly and had thought of everything, from a fresh loaf of bread and warm fire upon arrival to offering wellies for the walks. Just magical!
The setting was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed my walks by the river. The cottage was so homely. The bath was very relaxing and the bread and fire on arrival was the best welcome after a long trip. Highly recommend
This is a beautiful place to stay. It is very isolated, but that adds to the charm. We stayed in Winter, so had the fire going each night. There is plenty of firewood, but due to our fire making skills lacking - we did buy more fire starting cubes! You can hear the Kookaburras in the morning and out on the deck is a great place for some wine and cheese at sunset. The kids loved the animals - alpacas, donkeys and Django the Golden Retriever. A memorable stay, for sure.
This was our fourth visit to Clover Cottage Country Retreat and every time just gets better. Nothing is too much trouble for Petrina and Paul. My wife is disabled and we needed some minor changes made to the cottage set up before arrival. Petrina was so helpful on the phone and when we got there everything was ready as promised. The place is so peaceful, lots of rabbits and birds, fairy wrens included made it really relaxing. Everything you need is in the cottage from the bread maker to the convection oven, to the reverse cycle air con to the wood burner. It was really cosy. I could not recommend it highly enough. Well done Petrina and Paul and thank for sharing your wonderful retreat with us.
What a haven! Clover Cottages are perfectly located for beauty and peace, and yet just 15 minutes from Manjimup, wineries etc. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious. We shared #1 with another couple. Morning walks were our choice of activity, followed by coffee. The "barn" was a wonderful and cosy meeting place.
What a truly lovely hideaway Clover Cottages are! From the welcoming fire and smell of freshly baking bread to sitting on the porch watching the sun disappear…managed to take a canoe up the river… what a serene paddle that was.. it is everything you need to recharge … Thankyou Paul and Petrina!
Lovely location and cottage in beautiful surrounds. Peaceful place to say, comfortable beds & clean rooms. Great for family trip, toddler loved feeding the animals and wandering around the grounds. Hosts were great.
